It’s weird to me that so many people see earlobes as the default, so much that they assume every baby will want earlobe piercings when they grow up. I know it’s one of the easiest things to pierce, but I don’t have any piercings so to me guessing that someone will want an earlobe piercing is just the same as guessing they’ll want a septum, eyebrow, belly button, etc. I don’t get why earlobes are seen as so different to other piercings lol
I worked at a chain barbershop and got in trouble when I told a mom I wouldn't be doing a 0 fade on a TEN MONTH OLD. I quit shortly there after for related and unrelated reasons
@mistylawrence6944 think they probably mean that from 5 to 15 lobes only with the child's consent. I dunno, lobe piercings are very ubiquitous in our society, but in India, septum piercings are pretty common, these piercings involve a similar amount of pain and the septum scar will be invisible if taken out (unlike the lobe) it's hard to draw that line when it really just comes down to western ideals here, yet my 5-year-old wanted his ear lobes pierced and after much considering, I took him to a tattoo studio to get it done, he was told everything that was being done and offered every chance to change his mind, he got one done, said ow, but didn't cry, decided he didn't want the right ear done and that was that. If I could think of a good reason why septum is worse than lobes, it's that the rings could get snagged and a barbell is kind of pointless and I don't think teens at 15 should be getting any ear piercings other than lobes either. It's just a much bigger thing, beside, most schools in the UK have dress codes and taping over them all seems like a lot. I'd go with allowing lobes from 5 but everything else- 18. 18:15 this one pissed me off so much, insulting a "piercer" calling her such a rude name when he has the gaul to force his baby to get piercings (with a gun of all things) jfc
They both deserve to be called rude names, he’s treating a baby like a toy and she’s treating a baby like an ATM. You don’t see tattoo artists agreeing to tattoo babies. Maybe some teenagers with fake ID’s, not not infants. Don’t act like the piercer didn’t choose to do something bad for money.
@@emmanarotzky6565 exactly! But, there's something weird with this situation, so I'm going to play devil's advocate for a moment. I've never seen a dad (without the mom at least) take an infant to get her ears pierced. Apparently he's also never seen how a baby reacts when getting their ears pierced, because he was obviously surprised and upset when she started screaming, and thought that it was the piercer's fault. Instead of, you know, the new piece of metal being rocketed through his baby's ear. I wonder if he was volunteered by someone in the family to get the baby's ears pierced, and was completely unprepared for what was going to happen. That absolutely doesn't excuse calling the piercer a bitch, though.
@@emmanarotzky6565or shes a minimum wage worker being forced to do that lol. not all people can afford to quit their job even if theyre forced to do unethical things working for claires or other places like that.
I'm also an afab whose parents got my ears pierced as a baby. I had so many issues with them growing up; all earrings seemed to itch no matter the material, the earrings always felt heavy, I caught them on everything, & I'm prone to skin infections so was battling those around my ears constantly. I eventually stopped wearing earrings without telling my parents. They were upset when they found out I let them close & tried to tell me how horrible it would be to re-pierce them. The shock on their face when I told them I didn't want to wear earrings anyway was magical 😂
my earlobes are messed up for the rest of my life. my mom also pierced my ears when i was little. she bought the wrong material and my ears got infected. my left ear isn't that bad but my right ear i have to clean every single day because if i don't it gets infected. even if i do clean it every day, it still can get infected. i haven't worn any ear rings in ages but i still have to deal with the injury to this day. i've had operations on my ear to remove the scar tissue, but no succes. i'm struggling with this for over 11 years now and accepted that it will never heal again. i am 22 now and the infections become a regular thing, especially with warm weather. i am looking into cutting out a hole in my ear. i just wanna risk it, like a modification. i rather have a hole in my ear that the constant pressure, infections and pain i feel every single day. i just wish that i wasn't pushed to get ear rings or that at least she paid attention to the material of the earrings, because this is no fun. it literally effects my daily life.
@dark-shadow_ That sucks! I'm not saying this will help, as it depends on what type of infection it is & other factors, but my skin infections are most often fungal related. Because of this, I've found that using body washes/soaps with tea tree oil is beneficial for my skin, especially around common infection areas such as my ears, forehead, etc. Tea tree oil can be irritating for those with sensitive skin, so if it burns/stings, wash it off immediately. Since fungal infection tend to thrive in moisture, I also try to keep my skin dry by making sure I properly dry after showering, wiping off excess sweat, wearing sports/leisure bras (if got boobs) around when don't need support just prevent skin trapping moisture, & blow drying my hair. When I do use lotions for moisture, I find ones with coconut oil as it also has antifungal properties. Hopefully you can get relief from either something mentioned above or can work with a professional on getting the procedure done. Best of luck!
@@dark-shadow_omg that's awful 😖 Im sorry you're dealing with that; maybe the modification would be a way to at least fix the problem of daily pain. Good luck with whatever you decide to do! 😊
This is what I needed after my tragus piercing suddenly rejected itself right out of my ear the other day. Thanks Roly ❤️, and thanks inflammatory auto-immune disease!
“I’m a wriggler” me too, I drool when I sleep and I had just gotten my snake bites done. Half asleep, wiped my mouth, yanked the CRAP out of my piercing😭😭😭
I'm prone to hypertrophic scarring (found this out after surgery on my elbow) so I'm slightly hesitant to get more piercings since I'm not sure if it'll lead to keloids but I'm glad to have learned more about this stuff from this channel.
@@thelittlestpikayou’re welcome! you can ask your family if they’ve ever had a keloid before, i believe keloids run in the family. as long as you’ve never gotten one and no one in your family has, i’m 99% sure you’ll be okay. you might get a hypertrophic scar on the piercing for a while but it will go away
they're different! I got a nose piercing and got a hypertrophic scar right after when it started healing. Keloids don't subsize, hypertrophic scars do, and hypertrophic scars stay within the wound site only, not past it like keloids (this was all from google lol)
A friend has trusted my piercing advice and asked me to take her to get her nose pierced at the end of the month. Which means I’ll probably end up with a “dontletmyhusbandnotice” new piercing 😂
Am I seeing this right?? 44 minutes of Roly piercing content yay 😊 just what I need to distract me from the fact that I'm having 2 wisdom teeth out tomorrow and I'm so nervous 😢
Good luck tomorrow. It actually really isn't that bad getting them out. I got mine out and was really nervous about it to. But it actually is really quick and not that bad. And they numb you.
My mom had my ears pierced when I was really young and my ears turned out fine... Somehow. I'm pretty sure mine were done in a salon with a gun. And I'll give the stylist credit, she at least knew to leave the jewelry in for so long and to try and stop me from touching them. But every pair of "sleepers" my mom bought me--which are essentially just hoops that are hard to remove-- somehow I always lost one. Ironically while sleeping. So my mom had to change them often, which caused irritation that lead to me touching them because it hurt and I wanted it to go away; I didn't understand, or know, what the problem was and that touching was only making it worse. Not to mention that I never knew how to care for my piercings and my ears hated everything other than gold. Because apparently I was allergic to anything that wasn't gold. Sure showed them. By always wearing really poorly made, cheap jewelry that made my ears itchy and turned them green(which happens to be why my mom thought I was allergic to them). And because I had no idea how to take care of my pierced ears, and didn't wear earrings for long periods of time, whenever I did decide to wear some my ears had always started to close. So I'd grab the earring and just force them through. And boy did my ears stay pissed for weeks afterwards. Weirdly enough though, it's only really my right ear that seems to be the most dramatic. I think I finally stopped abusing my ears and figuring out that I was doing it wrong by the time I hit middle school. Many years later I slowly stretched my ears. And while it's not anything crazy, I now keep my spirals in unless I decide I want to wear actual earrings to feel cute or whatever. I have gone a few days without putting them back in, and things are always fine. But I try not to go passed a few days because I'm definitely not forcing a 10 gauge through my lobes because of neglect and carelessness like I did when I was younger. TL;DR listen to Roly. Don't get your kids ears pierced. Wait until they decide they want them, and HELP them care for them, and teach them how. Because apparently piercings are addicting, and if you fail to teach them good piercing hygiene, who knows what else they'll get pierced that could get really infected and turn bad real fast. This has been a Public Service Announcement. Thank you for your time.
36:15 when I was a preschool teacher we had a mother who both her ears looked very similar to how her bump FIRST looked (before it was MASSIVE) and i always felt bad for her because she was very self conscious about it, made me nervous when i finally got my double helix done but luckily my ear healed fine
So my parents pieced my ears in Claire’s when I was a baby I no longer wear earrings (for about 12 years now) and I still have a bubble on my lobes!! Just wanted to share this with you roly haha 😂 xx
Mood. I had my ears pierced as a baby and somehow I don't remember cause I was still little, but now one of my ear piercings is a slit instead of a dot. Yay having our ears messed up before we could consent 😒
I have a bit of hard scarring in my lobes after my ex DIY pierced them in the bathroom with a drawing needle (like the kind you use to draw up medications from a vial)
I'm old and got my first body piercing in 1993. It was a belly button piercing and done at a tattoo shop outside of a military base. The guy who did it use a sterilized nail. Needless to say, it wouldn't heal. Definitely research where you get your piercings done.
My 19 year old brother in law didn’t listen to me and had to have both of his earlobe piercings removed at the hospital. He figured putting a dirty ice pack on them-they were swollen and leaking fluid. Pierced at Claire’s of course with butterfly backings!
Tips for the people wearing heavy earrings in ear lobes. Don't wear them too long it will sure rip through the lobe. I always wanted to have 2 double stretched lobes at both sides, so this was not a bad thing that they were already stretched out. The 1.2 was too small, then i put in the 1.6 and yet it still was swimming in air. So then i tried the 2 mm which still was way too easy. I ended up using the 2,5 mm and it felt as if it always was in there.
I had my ears first pierced in a mall kiosk when I was about 3 or 4 months old. My mom went with my aunts (her and my dad's sister), and apparently I didn't react much at all. My mother has now realized she dug her own grave since I have had 20 more piercings since.
Your videos are VERY useful and they teach the viewers! For example my mom ordered a piercing gun from a site called temu so the gun was also cheap I freaked out and told her EVERYTHING about guns I've heard and seen on your channel she got scared and threw it away 🙂 so thank you roly! 🥰🥰
Roly's ooey gooey song, "And that was the cool mental breakdown of Roly" "She got gout girls" "and that's how she died" and many more beautiful moments will always live rent free in my head
Also, the dad saying to the "piercer", "Now she's crying" .... Like duh you just had a blunt object shoved through her baby lil earlobe then did it the 2nd time show both lobes are pierced. Aside from calling the "piercer" a bishh. You didn't think your baby wouldn't scream the house down? She's just experienced high level pain for the first time in her short little time here. Fark sake!!
Jeees.. so happy to see this popping up 🎉😅! I had 2 weeks ago very big surgery and have been just 2 days home.. but mostly have been sleeping and trying to handle pain some how and your videos will always help me, weather I have pain, feeling sad or just not having a good day... watching your video helps always! Thank you Roly so much of all you do for us❤. I wish you and everybody a great day. Love and hugs, Sanna 🤗🩷✌️
Watching your videos is so nice and it keeps me distracted. I've been in hospital for over a week with random paralysis from the waist down. So thank you for your entertainment. Truthfully it help me relax and laugh
I stretched my septum to 9/16” about 15 years ago, and it put so much pressure on my cartilage that it broke my nose lol. It absolutely puts pressure on your whole face.
My trick for wearing heavy earrings is to wear them in stretched holes inside of a silicone tunnel! It stops the cutting type action the skinny jewellery makes, and studs can be worn in silicone plugs 😁 they don't need to be particularly big either, mine are 5mm and could be much smaller and still work.
...if that "father of the year" acted that way toward me or called me bitch, i would not have even attempted to do her 2nd lobe,....would have asked him to leave immediately and let him go elsewhere 💥
Yo I fkn spit ma coffee out wen I heard "Two Tom Cats came knocking at the door!" 🤣🤣🤣 My God I love Roly. I need this type energy around me at all times, no cap.
I'm really happy you decided to move forward with longer videos! When you were mentioning the bar size for a cartilage piercing, I was thinking that it is funny, I need super long bars for my cartilage. We figured out early on that my body just likes to swell like crazy for those, no matter if I baby the piercing or just completely leave it alone. The crazy swelling never lasts long, but having a bar that is too short in is absolutely miserable.
I'd love an animated kids series where Roly is the host and each episode one of his tattoos comes to life and we follow the adventures of that tattoo, then it returns to Roly at the end and tells him all about their day. I think someone could have some real creative fun with that.
Others may not agree but i refused to do anything up or across the spine. (Back of the neck has enough skin) i have a terrible back and couldn't bear the thought of someone being in an accident and the jewellery breaking and doing damage to the spinal cord. I had colleagues who would do it but i just couldn't (well i physically could but mentally no)
5:47 Ok so the reason I started talking was bc he asked me a question and I was in shock so I didn’t think to mumble yes and my friend told me to stop talking and I did
Can you imagine being a little baby, surrounded by people who love you, then suddenly you're in the worst pain you've felt in your life and you have no idea why?
I absolutely love you. Your show, tattoos, the Simpsons, your personality. You and I definitely are in the same generation. My friends keep telling me that you are my twin. Lol I’m a single mom from Pueblo Colorado but holy cow, we would crack each other up.
Hi Roly, just recently rediscovered ur channel and have been binge watching everything. Crazy that I've been subscribed since your collabs with GaysoftheWeek from long long LONG ago 🫨🫨 love you
Thank you for your content! i can't get over the tattoo sleeves. they are everything! i just had my second tattoo session 2 days ago and i can't wait for my sleeve to finish! i have a "traditional Japanese dragon" in black and grey. healing sucks but i am looking forward to how it will turn out. i must admit that i am not the biggest fan of collor, but it looks amazing on you Roly! it really suits your vibe😊
I was just going to stick on an old piercing fail to organise my silver celtic, plant, braid and knot design hoops (I have fifteen and two the same and I don't remember even buying them XD) and here's a new one! I'm so happy I've got back into Roly after a three year break, its like coming home
For reference, 1:12 said he got nervous and it hurt a lot. the lady almost cut me with the scissors. couldn't forget the tears. 24:48 the worst thing that can happen to a navel piercing. 36:09 first picture: what i wanted. second picture: what i got.
Honestly, with the septum one, at least they used a big needle to start with instead of doing the basic gauge and then just stretching to the high heavens 😂
The helix piercing is one that is the longest to heal because of the location, you should definitely go to a professional piercer and ask them how to take care of it ✌️
@@Hokori42 thank you very much! Unfortunately when I got it pierced and I got the soap the piercer told me to and I recently found out it wasn’t good for piercings and only inflamed my ear worse😭
38:05 I got the standard earlobe piercing age 11, Clair's didn't say the 2mm stud wouldn't be a good idea for an earlobe. This same thing happened and urgent care spent 3 hours digging it out. Got it removed and the other one replaced with a 6mm stud. Clairs didn't refund us and we had to pay full priced to get one ear redone. Almost loss a part of my ear that day.
Hey Roly, i totally agree with you about babies having their ears pierced, it's just not necessary, I was ten years old before my mum would let me have mine done ❤
In my 24 yrs of piercing. The amount of people that come into the shop saying the piercing is still irritated and sore after months and when i look at it the back of the jewelry is absolutely caked in a thick black mass of goo, hair, and dead skin cells that they have not once tried to clean off. Im talking so bad it is starting to push into the skin and make the hole wide and raw. Like you have to clean urself or have a friend check it out!!! Please!!! Also just what in the hell? That father took his tiny baby to claires and is mad at the worker for going to fast???
I dunno what is people’s aversion to going to a certified professional and getting a piercing. You will get perfect placing with minimal pain because they are experienced. Even if it is the money, I’d rather save a little bit and have it done professionally instead of having to pay thousands in treatment and medications if you fck it up. Which is more likely.
I got my belly button pierced w/o my moms permission 14 yrs ago. As soon as i was done I went home and showed it to her. I had no plans to hide it. But then again, I had stopped listening to/trusting/caring what my mother had said at that point. I went to a professional though. Even then I knew not to pierce myself.
I had the weirdest dream the other night that David Bowie had convinced me to get the webbing between my thumb and finger pierced. 😂 it was so bizarre, but I did it anyway because it was David freaking Bowie😂😂😂
I hid a belly button piercing from my mom but I was 18 and went to an actual piercer. I ended up taking it out because it wouldn't heal, three out of four piercings I got from that place never healed and just kept getting infected no matter what I did so I think it was honestly the place, but she did end up finding out and didn't really freak she was just like oh that looks bad and I was like yeah I'm trying to fix it😬 RIP my bellybutton piercing
Whenever I want to get a piercing, I just watch Roly's piercing fail videos. Whenever I see one of these videos I'm glad that I'm really not supposed to get pierced. (allergic to nickel, can't risk it, and I also have Ehlers-Danlos so a-typical scarring is my curse

🤯 I'm sorry you had to go through this!
my earlobes are messed up for the rest of my life. my mom also pierced my ears when i was little. she bought the wrong material and my ears got infected. my left ear isn't that bad but my right ear i have to clean every single day because if i don't it gets infected. even if i do clean it every day, it still can get infected. i haven't worn any ear rings in ages but i still have to deal with the injury to this day. i've had operations on my ear to remove the scar tissue, but no succes. i'm struggling with this for over 11 years now and accepted that it will never heal again. i am 22 now and the infections become a regular thing, especially with warm weather. i am looking into cutting out a hole in my ear. i just wanna risk it, like a modification. i rather have a hole in my ear that the constant pressure, infections and pain i feel every single day. i just wish that i wasn't pushed to get ear rings or that at least she paid attention to the material of the earrings, because this is no fun. it literally effects my daily life.
@@dark-shadow_😨 🫂
Oh that’s so annoying!! ❤❤❤
Damn what happened
I got diagnosed with gout in my pinky finger today and I was like "Roly did this to me!" Thank you for making me laugh through the pain❤
How do you get gout in a finger ?
@m.o.4240 apparently it can happen. Doc said straight away it was gout. It's just far more common to get it in the big toe
😂 does anyone else have a mini heart attack and check their piercings to make sure they are still good?? Love your new ink roly and hello everyone
“I’m a wriggler” me too, I drool when I sleep and I had just gotten my snake bites done. Half asleep, wiped my mouth, yanked the CRAP out of my piercing😭😭😭
Ouch 😬
i've had every cartilage piercing reject so i've settled on stretched lobes. living vicariously through you and your lovely ears lol
Ive had my helix reject twice, which absolutely sucks, so when i can im going to get 2nd lobe piercings done on both ears
@@haylene7521 i hope it works out! i've had no problems with my lobes ☺️ just make sure you do your research on the shop beforehand as always.
I'm prone to hypertrophic scarring (found this out after surgery on my elbow) so I'm slightly hesitant to get more piercings since I'm not sure if it'll lead to keloids but I'm glad to have learned more about this stuff from this channel.
im prone to hypertrophic scarring aswell, and i’ve never gotten a keloid. i think you’ll be fine aslong as you dont usually get keloids
@@r4zorb1ade Thanks for replying! I've been super worried about getting more ear piercings because of this! 💜
@@ripley528 Thank you!
Oh yes!! 40ish mins is the new normal on my channel now ❤
Good luck tomorrow. It actually really isn't that bad getting them out. I got mine out and was really nervous about it to. But it actually is really quick and not that bad. And they numb you.
I👏🏻AM👏🏻SO👏🏻HAPPY with this long long video, thank you Roly!❤😊
Thank you!! Yes videos will be longer from now on ❤
My mom had my ears pierced when I was really young and my ears turned out fine...
As someone with a stretched septum, that rapid septum stretch has me SHOOK!!! Lol 😅
Same! My septum is stretched and I felt my nose itch 😭😭😭 he could have broken his cartilage or nose
@@lucialovecraft yeah I stretched mine slow and it still hurts and gave me some issues lol I couldn't imagine straight BLOWING OUT my septum lol 😅
@@rosamundadrion1553 crazy init! I hated wearing earrings, will never do that to my kids x
I have a bit of hard scarring in my lobes after my ex DIY pierced them in the bathroom with a drawing needle (like the kind you use to draw up medications from a vial)
Nothing better than seeing a new video by you ❤️ I find myself quoting your videos daily, its actually become a habit at this point 🤣
Oh dear I’m cursing you 🤭🤭
I'm glad I'm not the only one 😂
just what i needed ❤ love the longer format lately!
So glad to hear! It’s a bit more work but I love making them longer ❤
I thankfully gave up on my Claire's earrings before they got infected that bad
I cannot tell you how many times Ive had "wonkey donkey" just pop into my head since watching your videos Roly.
🤣🤣🤣 That's awesome. Thanks, mom!
39:25 - I HATE when I stir in my sleep and catch myself SCRATCHING A NEW TATTOO LIKE NO!! Sometimes I think I should sleep with oven mits on 🤣🤣🤣
Your videos are VERY useful and they teach the viewers!
Fark sake!!
Right?! That blew my mind.
Jeees.. so happy to see this popping up 🎉😅! I had 2 weeks ago very big surgery and have been just 2 days home.. but mostly have been sleeping and trying to handle pain some how and your videos will always help me, weather I have pain, feeling sad or just not having a good day... watching your video helps always! Watching your videos is so nice and it keeps me distracted. I've been in hospital for over a week with random paralysis from the waist down. So thank you for your entertainment. Truthfully it help me relax and laugh
I hope you're doing better now ❤
I stretched my septum to 9/16” about 15 years ago, and it put so much pressure on my cartilage that it broke my nose lol. It absolutely puts pressure on your whole face.
Holy shit 😮😮😮
i’m genuinely so glad you uploaded.. i really needed a distraction. love you roly!!
Trigger Warning: Claires
I just got a Claires ad in the middle of this video, they really put an ad on the wrong persons video 😂😂😂
Death!!!
The flat back jewellery is what I’ve got in my Medusa piercing x
EENY WEENY TEEDY DEEDY thanks Roly the song is now stuck in my head
Yo I fkn spit ma coffee out wen I heard "Two Tom Cats came knocking at the door!" 🤣🤣🤣
My God I love Roly. I need this type energy around me at all times, no cap.
Just had a piercing today and I feel like this video is a blessing 💀💕
I know you don't like children. And you still stand for them. It's so nice ❤
I had colleagues who would do it but i just couldn't (well i physically could but mentally no)
5:47 Ok so the reason I started talking was bc he asked me a question and I was in shock so I didn’t think to mumble yes
and my friend told me to stop talking and I did
But it’s healing rly good and I look so cute w it

Omg Fallen Angel!! I used to watch her videos all of the time, that was such a throwback
I’m planning on getting my helix pierced, does anyone know what I should clean it with?
The helix piercing is one that is the longest to heal because of the location, you should definitely go to a professional piercer and ask them how to take care of it ✌️
@@Hokori42 thank you very much! Unfortunately when I got it pierced and I got the soap the piercer told me to and I recently found out it wasn’t good for piercings and only inflamed my ear worse😭

You crack me up SO much!!!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣 I scare my cats with my cackling outbursts watching your videos!
That father took his tiny baby to claires and is mad at the worker for going to fast???
when roly starts singing and dancing randomly cause he doesn't know how to react/can't believe what's happening...
SAME ROLY, SAME
Absolutely love all the Simpson clips complementing your brilliant commentary :)
YAAAY ROLY IS BACK!!
my favorite edits done on your videos are the doctor who and Lucifer references, absolutely top tier
