He was very underrated for some reason. Every time I listen to "A Brighter Day" featuring Lisa Fischer, I go into a very deep zone. Thanks to You Tube, we can still see him in action. Whoever shared this, many thanks. You're good people.
From South Africa I grew up with Ronny Jordan in my teenage years and early 20s when I started working in the 80s and 90s I'm now 55 years old this brings great joy in me. I now understand Miles Davis and believe he was the greatest inspiration to Ronny Jordan music especially this tune, long live the Mastro including Grover Washington. Thanks to the brother or sister that brought back to live my timeless guitarist, Ronny Jordan
This cat helped define an era in my life. Hard to believe he is gone. Saw him tear up a packed Commodore Ballroom in Vancouver, BC not long after this album came out.
I have just discovered this guy is dead, gutted, he was virtually all I listened to for several years, a handful of us appreciated what he was doing, was privileged enough to have him respond to an email a while back, the world has lost a huge talent. Condolences to the family. RIPRJ.
Wow. He was fabulous ! I just discovered Ronny about a year ago, thanks to Pandora. I did not realize he was no longer with us.....but thank God for his fantastic gift and talent lives forever.
SO VERY SAD .........HE HAS BEEN GONE 6 YEARS .............DID NOT KNOW .............RONNY ....U ARE VERY TRUELY MISSED ........YOUR MUSIC ............ LIFTS US ......ALWAYS !!!!
I did not know he passed away. I was his fan, I spend most of my time practicing most of his licks on my guitar. Great respect for your music bro, I hope you would appear in my dream to give me more of your secret. RIP.
After so many years of this video, still watching over and over again. Practice is the main gold to reach this level of professionalism . I completly agree with you.
The difference between Ronnie and Norman was those sexy soul licks. Norman had good jazzy speed but Ronnie had more to say and said it better. His phrases were well thought out. This is done in your head first then put with memory into your fingers. He was for sure not abstract in his approach, like fusion jazz players.
I was so fortunate to see him live in my hometown, Denver, CO. This video reminds me of that performance- I was, and still am, BLOWN AWAY. This brother made that 🎸 talk!!
Hypnotic groovy bass right there. The band is tighter than two thieves. Check out how Ronny switches to playing rhythm during the keyboard solo. This live version is crazy.
Had the great fortune of seeing him with Jazzmatazz in the 90's, in Frankfurt. Never thought an opera house could rock like that, but it sure did on that evening. Brilliant guitarist!
Saw Ronnie play in concert in the mid 90’s and had him sign a guitar, such a massive talent gone way to soon.. So What blew me away when I first heard it.. brilliant

brighter day is my number one favorite song in the world!!!
Underrated only by those that weren't there from the beginning.

Ronny played so clean and always right in the pocket, and never too flashy.
Damn I miss this man. He was SO talented (and so was his band). I don’t believe he got the credit he deserved. He was a phenomenal guitarist!
I agree with you.
Je suis aussi de cet avis.
Неймовірний Музикант!!!

2021 and I've only just realised. Saw him in Wellington Town Hall in '96. Very underappreciated musician.

The secret is phrasing timing and years of practice
