Tom, I currently have the RX1100U on the bench also. Just a note, the 22ohm resistor as stated in the schematic at 3:04 is incorrect. The actual value of this is 470ohm, standard carbon resistor. I believe as the original I took out was 470, I will check to verify. The service manual for this particular amp is wrought with incorrect info so be careful.
I replaced R290, sure you aren't confusing with R212 & 211? They are 470k, opposite side of the cap. R290 is 22k on both the schematic and component list. I had noticed some things in the manual didn't match up and the PCB has some capacitors with the icon for resistor printed on the board. Also on the board diagram in the manual, R262 is actually C193 and R251 is c192 (verify that if needed, I made notes but don't remember specifics.)
@@AudioTomReviews I checked today and the resistor I removed from R290 slot is marked as a 4.7ohm but identified on the schematic and parts list as 22 ohm. I must admit this SM is wrought with errors and even component layout mistakes as compared to the boards.

One of the first things I checked when I see the glue leakage around this area was to remove the components and test them. I found R290 opened. It was colored as a 4.7ohm although the schematic says it is a 22 ohm. I replaced it with a 4.7. I have not powered it on yet as I am waiting on other parts to finish this unit.

Actually I work in IT and the electronics repair is just a hobby for me. I need to replace 2 more capacitors in my RX-1100U (I think). When I am in there I will look to see if there are any likely culprits for this display. Sometimes you just have to open it up and look for the obvious, a burned component, cracked PCB, bad solder joint, oxidized connector. Some of these problems are quite small, so you have to look close. And with electronics this age my first thought is a bad electrolytic capacitor.

That's a tough one because the problem could be anywhere, but start at the basics. There are internal fuses, check all of those. If one is blown you need to find the cause. L/R speaker fuses could be bad speaker wires etc. After that it gets difficult to trace.

My Yamaha HTR 2064 surround all 5 speakers are producing very all sound in all modes... woofer produce perfect sound....
What's the problem.
