You think that's big, you should see the Figure-Rise Standard Kamen Rider Ex-Aid. NINETY-FIVE STICKERS! Some are understandable like eyes and decals but quite literally EVERY black line on the suit is a sticker. You should check out the Kamen Rider W kits, those have minimal stickers compared to the rest of the line and have a gimmick where you can make almost every combination in the show and they all have really good articulation
Dread Joker the issue with figurerise kits are that they have complex designs and are limited to a under 4000 yen, and a lot of parts on these kits wouldn't be able to be color separated ex: those red lines wouldn't even be color separated on a mg....
Good luck getting the figma for 4000 yen lmao, you're more likely to shell out $90 for the figma now-a-days....

I may be wrong, but it has somthing to do with the Figma does not produce anymore or not made copies Like Figma asuna. Just like Ps2 games or Console games. Once they sold out or not printing anymore. It would go rare and raise the price high.

update: just saw a MD May review. She's pretty average in presentation but still a solid figure.

The Digimon Amplified is nothing more like a redesign much like Digimon X-Antibodies which is no need context to appreciate them. (Except the Omegamon Amplified. Which is just a lazy mold of old Reboot line)

Thank you for this review! My filthy snap building casual self was about to pick one up! I guess Megami Device and Frame Arms Girl is where I'll stay for non-Gundam kits.
If I ever get this kit, I’d try to make her look more like a knight. cut the hair to be shorter, loose the red ribbon things on her upper arms, and paint the skirt a metallic silver to look like chainmail. Some other things here and there too but those are the major changes
This and the figma in the same shot is like looking at Asuna and some sort of freaky doppleganger Asuna. Especially that spin at the end where her back was open.

Same, I wish they made a posable figure rise gundam human characters. Definitely the Figure rise Char. With the One year war and the Neo zeon war in char's counter attack. Even Amuro too. I don't know why bandai has made the human characters.

Hey Mecha, I got the MG Alex 2.0 for my birthday 9 days ago.
Just finished the build three days ago, Chobham Armor and all.
Can't they just pre-paint the face like Kotobukiya?! They did that since Frame-Arm girls, and looks great since Megami Device.
Nah, bandai just want to show off their black magic molding technology.
The model kit will be Made in China because they will need human labour to apply the prepainted face, which also add the production cost. Made in Japan kits made by Bandai basically will rely on machine injection only.
Geez, I was interseted up till now, not worth the effort to make it look decent. leave model kit for robots/mecha and just get a Figma for figure. but yeah present Figma pricing is higher than ever...still worth it though.

Out of curiosty, do you ever intend to try out a figurise kamen rider? I find them to be quite good for a human as a model kit

i do agree on that figma prize. i bought my black rock shooter figma for 25 bucks years ago and now they coming out with $100 figma. yeesh
I'm just guessing here, but the red plastic inside the thighs may be done to try and create more realistic looking skin on the surface. Because in real life, light is absorbed by our epidermis and reflected off of our dermis. Don't know how well this figure pulled off that effect though.

What crazy tech does color separated eyes need exactly, when literally every single DBZ Figure-Rise kit has them?
DBZ character literary have only one color for the eye ball....And if you say they can use multi layered injection for FRS line I think the eye piece are way too small...
You meant the Figurerise Bust eyes. DragonBall eyes are different design than typical anime girl eyes.

It was this or The new Megaman X kit for Christmas. I’m glad I chose Megaman X, because I was over 700 miles away from my house and all my tools and dealing with water slides besides the eyes would’ve been hell

I was at my local hobby shop yesterday in the model kit aisle, looking at Gunpla. A guy walked over to the girl model area, picked up this kit, and I heard him say "God, I'm such a weeb" under his breath. Haha
Figure-Rise Asuna looks like a kit that I would buy...

Kinda agreed for Figma, I myself is Figma collector too, but since late 2018 (I think?) Figma price become more up, well perhaps not so much on that year but on 2019 the price become more ridiculous, like the one my sister bought Figma Klaus from Kekkai Sensen, don't have so much accesories but the price really high.
Kinda shame if I have to said as I always like Figma, but I think it's time to drop that line.
Nendo on the other hand still on stable price, but I'm not fan of chibi figure.
@Black Chandelier Mirage the way to resort for searching cheap in garage sale is pathetic though. You can get cheap but they are not perfect e.g. missing parts or damaged.
I want the same way figma was before. Cost about 4500 yen back in 2010-2011, exclusive ver for 7k-10k yen. Inflation is not a right way for this excuse because figma price in 2008 is way more cheaper than that which is below 3000yen. 4500-5500yen is good price for these with inflation rate. Heck even Bandai S.H.Figuarts more cheaper than figma.
@Black Chandelier Mirage not all figma releases are in Amiami preowned item section. Which is better to expect Max Factory to come back with their usual prices.
The discount price of preowned 9k yen figma is still expensive(assuming the used unit priced at 7k yen). So what's the point?. Like I said it's pathetic to expect these ended up in bargain bin. It may become more expensive than its retail price because it become more rare in aftermarket.
Check out bandai's star was series: han solo stromtrooper, luke stormtrooper, return of the Jedi darth vader. They come with prepainted face with their new trijet paint technology(?).
If only it was a bit pricier like the wargreymon then they might be a lot better. This price seems to only pass for the licensing..
The face aspect of Asuna is just plain lazy by Bandai. Come on, Kotobukiya has been doing Frame Arms Girl and Megami Devices that have well painted faces. Also decals! What could be so hard about using decals instead of sticker sheet. On the model kit hobby, Bandai is extremely backwards.
Not trying to defend this abomination, but take in account that even to this day BANDAI kits are still cheaper (installing the decals and shading/painting from the factory gets the extra cost) and a bit more beginner friendly than Kotobukiya.
The choices in some kits are still questionable but I think its not the worst thing ever.
Just my opinion, you have a valid point regardless.
It is not lazy. Bandai is cheaper than Kotobukiya which is mean to cut cost. I would call them lazy if their price is almost same like Kotobukiya does. Take a look at Bandai Full Metal Panic HG Arbalest versus Kotobukiya Arbalest. Bandai one has superior design and way cheaper than Kotobukiya.
