Old English (What was considered English almost a thousand years ago) or "Old Anglo-Saxon" was a Germanic language derived from the same language strain as German was. However, as people started moving around in the old ages Old English began to incorporate French (A romance language) into its lexicon. This eventually became Middle English then years later turned into the Modern English we speak today, meaning that Modern English is an amalgamation of both Germanic and Romantic languages.
You can see examples of this very clearly due to how we have many words that mean the same thing. "Hound" and "Dog" is the first one that comes to mind. The reason why we have two words for the same object is because one is derived from English's Germanic roots and the other comes from the Romantic language.
I find this exact subject super fascinating so I thought I would share! Hope this is as interesting to you as it is to me!

You know, there are youtubers that make edgy jokes about race, mental health, and spout the n word, but Sean makes one comment in years saying jesus isnt real and everyone becomes so offended. He's not attacking anyone's religion. It was literally just a joke and if you guys know him, you know that he would never purposefully offend people like other controversial youtubers have and continue to do so what exactly can't be said next? He's a human but he's probably one of the more tame youtubers in terms of that kind of thing and if he doesn't have a belief in jesus, that's his right to express it. It doesn't make him a bad person. He cares about all his community. Obviously he expresses the need for PMA but the fact that he doesn't believe in something you do and expresses it, doesn't mean he's still not delivering that. I'd rather he be honest than contain his beliefs or water them down for the people who are too sensitive to know people all have different outlooks on life, creation, and religion.
Yep Jack can say the silliest things sometimes like not only about religion many many silly statements however he's innocent and the people getting offended need to grow the fuck up.
@Matt B Well just because there is other evidence form other religions doesn't mean it's about Jesus per se, there has been many debates on the existence or past existence of Jesus Christ & in my opinion....we will never know for sure, making it be one of the biggest mysteries known to mankind.

I typically don't comment on videos since I usually don't feel like my opinion is something that always needs to be shared; however, I am seeing a lot of people upset over the Jesus comment towards the beginning of the video.
I would like to start by saying I am not discouraging Christianity and I am not trying to tell you how to feel. Everyone can feel however they want and I know it sucks to be told otherwise. I simply wanted to put my two cents in. Jack can be any religion he wants, atheist included. He does not have to conform to any religion because of his fans. As long as he is not actively saying things like "Your religion sucks" or "You're x, y, z if you believe in that religion", he's not doing any harm.
As far as the joke goes (which unfortunately a lot of people did not realize was a joke or chose to take it out of context):
A joke is a joke. Not everyone will find it funny and not everyone has to. It's a little insane to me that people are unsubscribing for this one very small joke after years of being described, especially since he wasn't actually discrediting Christianity, Catholicism or any other religion. If you take the context and you also listen to the inflection ( the tone of his voice, body language, dramatic behavior, whatever), it was, in my opinion, a sarcastic or satiric statement towards all the people who ( as a knock to religion ) say "Jesus wasn't real" as a way to discredit them. He may not have actually being say that he, himself, doesn't believe Jesus was real. He could have just been making a satiric comment about how ridiculous of a claim that is to try and discredit whatever religion people believe.
This was a lot to read, but I hope that a lot of people really reconsider what Jack said. Sure, it may not have been the smartest thing ( or way ) to same something like that, especially with today's society of never being able to make a mistake without being ( pardon me ) crucified for it, but it was not actually something meant to cause harm or belittle people.
Jack is one of the most positive and encouraging people on youtube. This SINGLE video, does not change that.

I personally respect all religions there are (that includes atheists) and the Christian Church as well respect other religions. I was in the audience during this and I couldn't find anyone streaming it anywhere, so I just wanted to point out to you guys that as an audience member there are things that pop up on the main screen but not on your phone which makes it hard to play along if you can't see that somehow. That was probably part of the reason the other players were taking so long to answer certain things, they just couldn't see it. That being said, it was still really fun and I love you all a lot so this video just made my day 💙

I'm not jack but I'm pretty sure the point of the joke was that jesus was a real person and it'd be stupid to think otherwise, the high five wasn't to rub it in or anything, it was part of the joke. So I think some people are making a bigger deal out of this than it is...

Actually, Romance languages don’t have to do with romance. They’re called Romance languages because they originated in Rome or from Latin, which originated in Rome. Every language is formed off of Latin relatively, but the languages that were founded directly off of Latin are Romance languages.
