Hi Dean, another great video, thanks so much (liked). I have a question - I will be setting up an AVD environment for my users (single pooled host pool, one image) and then only I will need access to the servers (SQL, AD, MGMT). So do I need Azure Firewall at all? I can use Bastion for my access to the server VMs but do I need Azure Firewall for AVD? Thanks very much, sorry if that's a silly question.

NEED…no, you can run AVD with just Network Security Groups, or Virtual Network Manager security rules, but A Firewall is intelligent so the advantage is in analyzing traffic vs. the other stuff which are simple access control.

@@AzureAcademy Ah OK great, thanks. So I should still set up a Firewall in front of AVD and use a hub and (single) spoke model? Thanks Dean, huge help and thanks for the super quick reply!

It is very useful but it will be great if you change the background color from black to white.

Thank you for the feedback Jay!
I will check the video at lower resolution and see what I can do to improve.

At 720 you can read, but off course at 1080 is better. Less you can't read clearly

I wanna place azure firewall for internal purposes - 2 VMs on same vnet assume I have db one one vm and app on another vm. Can this be possible? Or is it mandatory we need to vnet(peerings) ?

You can use the firewall for internal purposes but what is the purpose of the firewall for you?
If you want to control the traffic from the app vm to DB vm you can but they need to be in separate subnets

@@AzureAcademy sure, firewall works using different zones, so they need to be in separate subnets 👍
