It's so genius. He used the "off-scale" notes to act as a key change, the same way songs do sometimes, where everything stops and it just changes keys, and it works so well, there's like a certain groove you find and your brain just stops cringing at the dissonances in the notes and suddenly there are no scales and all notes sound good, it's so weird.
@@joshmillere6263 i mean like harmonic minor, pentatonic, etc. at the first few notes it sounds a bit darker, but on those 3 last notes at the end of the bar they're clearly off the scale.
Levi: "It sounds terrible, but I kinda like it. I has character." Me: "It has more than character. I want someone to find a song that sounds like this without making one. I'll give you the rest of your life." Also, why does the finished song sound like a Sci-fi Game Boss fight. I absolutely love it
I expected the final result to sound the same but honestly that's *REALLY GOOD* . Didn't expect it to drop that hard. Reminds me of Savant and his weird but pretty damn good songs.
You know what I like about you, Levi? You’re such a good producer, even your “bad” songs fall into the “so bad, it’s good” category. These challenge videos are very entertaining. And, well, I love hearing you laugh.
I'm so angry, this turned out so good holy shit. It sounds like a chaotic boss theme from pokemon black and white. Like the melody would've taken forever to come up with but no it was a randomizerr
This sounds like a beat from these "Hey guys, I'm a upcoming producer from Atlanta. Please check out my music" dudes. But Levi still made it work! Amazing 💯
yeah I don’t doubt it at all, besides family guy already did that, just search up family guy fart song (PS: My friend who makes music turned pissing sounds into dubstep no joke)
True especially when he said "that's the worst one yet" no it was LITERALLY THE BEST ONE. It had a very minimalist synth sound which I liked especially with the way the notes are.
It sounds like a distorted glitchy world made out of machines and it all connects to like one big sentient computer. 11:40 - 12:08 sounds like your in a broken down overgrown lab and you see a big tube holding some sort of failed creation and it starts breaking out, or a scene where two characters (maybe one evil) and you find out lore about something evil. I love it, it gives me so many ideas for what it could be for
Tbh, it has a cool kind of vibe. Like one of those nasty yet awesome looking bad guys from old school cartoons having their own theme, jamming in their hideout with their minions.
Haven't watched yet, but I liked just for attempting such a crazy challenge. EDIT: I think it would have been cool to just have one random melody and then have complete freedom outside of that. Considering your limitations though, this sounded pretty damn cool. The drop not so much...
It's interesting how one can make unexpected and weird intervals more bearable by putting them into context. You've fixed like 80% of the main bullshit melody by adding stuff aroud it in an appealing way. Bass pad did magic things, too :3 And the plucky arp is actually like a sound effect, seems completely normal and usable.
I can see how this could be a cool and wacky way to come up with new song ideas just random everything .. and then after it sounds like shit then make it sound better and replace the notes so it sounds good maybe it could work this drop could sound really good
I think the pat/pad really saved the song. I just loved it. And even the drop worked in the finished version. Over all very good track despite the randomness.
I honestly can never tell if you are about to say “that’s actually sounds pretty good” or “that sounds like garbage”.
He laughs the same for both...

10:19 is a perfect example of this
