Okay, so I just tried moving my game & got a different interface from what this video was showing. Here's the updated moving process: 1. Move the folders as shown in the video. 2. Open HoYoPlay. 3. Click "Get Game" for Genshin & select a random throwaway location. 4. After the download starts, pause the download & open the game settings by clicking the 3-bars next to the download button. 5. Under the "Basic Information" tab, click "Relocate Game". 6. Select the "Genshin Impact game" folder for where you just moved your game files to. 7. Done Don't use the "Find Games" option under the download button when its showing "Get Game" since it can't find the game for whatever reason (both manual & auto-search). Hope this helps!!
This doesn't work. I now have to redownlad the entire game all over again. If anyone comes across this in the future, DO NOT FOLLOW THE ADVICE IN THE VIDEO OR THIS TAGGED COMMENT.
Hey, first of all I want to thank you so much. You helped a ton! But I also have question I have an USB. I know it is not suitable at all to put any games there, any games wont run. But I just wonder can I for example cut HSR folder to there temporarily then put it back in C: or D: ? I really wanna play both genshin and hsr but i need them to able to alternate if I want to make it work.
Fundamentally, the launchers open the game based on where the actual game data is as the sole purpose of the launcher is to update the game. Theoretically, it should work but I don't have HSR so I can't say much on that end. Maybe someone who has done something similar could reply to this hopefully.
Do you need to "alternate" as you put it because you don't have enough space to have both simultaneously? If so I'd sincerely recommend getting an external hard drive if possible
My 'Genshin Impact game' folder is inside my 'genshin impact' folder... So would I just cut and paste the 'genshin impact' folder since the game folder is inside it? Also, would uninstalling the game and reinstalling it into a different drive work the same way? If you don't feel confident with moving files as such
@@dre4w You can do just that. As long as you click the Relocate Game option & select the folder that has GenshinImpact.exe, it should be fine. Feel free to reach out here if you have any issues.

Edit: A fix to those who followed this advice and have Hoyoplay redownloading everything for HSR and ZZZ
The advice in the comment above to "launch download again" is half complete,
What you want to do:
-ZZZ and HSR
1) launch download
2) Cut download (do not let it running as it can redownload everything unlike Genshin)
3) Relocate the games folder with the manual location
This time it should work
Extra advice:
-If it doesn't work, moves the content of your original zzz or HSR folder to the one created by the new download, then the location will work
Discord challenge HSR not working : If HSR isn't detected correctly by discord (not counted as verified), it is due to moving the launcher, at some point HSR folder name changed and if you move Hoyoplay, discord isn't able to recognize HSR as the official one due to moving hoyoplay and/or HSR folder
To fix it, try the advice above or even force a fakeout to launch a redownload for HSR, then pause and move the original game content to the newly created folder
