Fantastic video topic! Both my mom and I have the FTE from Missha as our holy grails of toner essences. She has gone through what feels like hundreds of the original essence and has recently since I gifted it to her tried and truly loved the richer version - she calls it the gold version - whereas I have tried all of them over the years but always came back to my OG ride or die which is the Artemisia FTE both in regular form as well as the mist version. Thanks for the deep dive Kelly! :)

I have only tried two of these. The mugwort and the first essence enriched. The mugwort didn’t do anything for me. It was like putting water on my skin. I have tried mugwort sheet masks too and also have no noticeable difference. Just not a worth while ingredient for me. The enriched essence is a 10/10. Will buy again and again. It is so brightening for my skin tone. I love it! For reference, I have cystic acne with oily skin.

Same, first time using this one and it's a nice addition for a little more full and plumping hydration and moisture!

The Missha Artemisia Calming Essence is specifically made from the Artemisia Annua type of mugwort. I have tried other brands’ artemesia first essence/toner with other types of mugwort, but Missha’s is the one that works best for my skin. I notice the hydration and soothing after applying two or three light layers immediately after washing my face. I understand some have tried it and aren’t sure it is helping, I think for some it’s effectiveness may be most obvious when stopped after three or four months of use, or however long a 150 ml bottle lasts them.

I have the 5x aka the 97% and go the Enriched version last year during their Christmas sale. This is video I never knew I needed. I already love the original bc my skin instantly improves but usually don't notice until someone asks me what have been doing basically.
I am currently using the First Time Essence. I think it's amazing for warmer months and layers well with all my other toners and serums. I tried SK-II, but did not see any results whatsoever...perhaps that was not a product for me. I will probably give SK-II another try and buy it on sale. I can't justify paying the full price for it when I have so many K and J-beauty products that are much less expensive and equally good if not better.
Missha is my more affordable go to as well, I love SKII as a treat, Missha is a staple!
Hi Kelly my skin wasn’t a massive fan of the artemisia tbh - not a reaction or sensitivity but it just didn’t seem to do anything. I have super dry skin with both rosacea and eczema, so it can be finnicky and highly reactive. The original I tried several years ago (probably more than two updates ago 😂) and it was fine but not amazing. I liked it better than the artemisia but I didn’t really miss it when I stopped using it either. The newer enriched version is interesting however as is the red algae version and both may be worth a try. Best wishes x
Enriched and Algae would probably work well for you, knowing that your skin is so dry!

The Artesima Essence is wonderful for my dry skin.
I started using Missha Time Revolution The First Essence 4 years ago when I first dipped my toe into Korean skincare. I would never have known where to begin if it wasn't for your great advice. To this day, I won't try something new if it doesn't have the Kelly stamp of approval.
Love Missha essences. Currently testing the Enriched version and it is surprisingly nice. My main issue is the frequent formulation changes in their main Time Revolution Essence - 5x was not as effective or hydrating on my skin as the previous formulations. Not sure what changed but wish they would keep it more consistent.
My next toner/essence, I'm gonna put out the big bucks and get SKII. Now I'm using the Andie Lee CoQ10 Toner and the Numbuzin No. 3 Softening serum, and love both, but just have to find out if SKII is as great as they say...I remember Loving the Missha First Essence.
SK-II is awesome, definitely expensive! You can get deluxe sample bottles on Yesstyle for around $25 if you want to try before full commitment!

i have combo acne prone skin but i want like plumping and hydration too. debating about mugwort or the original 5x one. both seem good for my skin type and will give me good benefits. i want both tbh lol. which one should i get first or should i do both and do one at night and one in morning?
I really loved that Missha red algae essence, in red bottle. That is when my skin does "aaaahh" :)) I am waiting for a good price to buy it again. There was something different in that product compared to other toners/essences. I cannot unfortunately at all tolerate mugwort smell - it makes me literally gag. So cannot try that product. But have also tried The First Essence from Missha and liked it.

whenever I am out of sk2 and not willing to overspend I always go for Misha's mugwort essence especially in the summertime (in the winter I tend to go donginbi.. 4 me winter=ginseng and summer=mugwort no idea why). Ddoes it make a huge difference to my skin? Hard to say but 4 sure it delivers water that can later be sealed in with a moisturiser and I love the herbal scent.
I live Ginseng but haven't tried the donginbi one! Will have to see if it's available, last time I looked it was sold out!

Ive been using x5 for a while now, didnt even know about the enriched! Gonna try it now. Is it just me or does the Stylevana code not work for anyone else?

Can we layer missha essence with other products like vit c retinol copper peptides except aha and bha and pha pls any1 clarify my doubt ... Bcz one of my indian youtuber said we cant use this with vitc and peptides pls some body ans
There's no reason you can't use it with any of the ingredients listed.
Not related to this video but I'm just curious what you think of cetaphil gentle skin cleanser for normal to dry skin, and the cocokind barrier support serum. I have incorporated both recently, and the cleanser felt very hydrating and nonstripping, cleansed well (just want to know the ph). And just wondering what you think in general of the cocokind serum and if you've tried it. (Or anyone in the community, help a girl out!!) 😊
Never tried Cocokind but I like the Cetaphil Cleanser! I have it in my shower now and use it a lot when I need to cleanser in the middle of the day after a workout because I trust it won't dry out my skin!

I had a feeling this cleanser was okay just going based on how it makes my skin feel but had to double check 🙂 I did look around online but couldn't find a concrete answer.
Also, I ordered a 10 percent azaleic acid serum from nineless earlier today. I liked that it included a few soothing ingredients in addition. Wondering if you get a chance to look at this list what you think.

I have been using the Artemesia essence for years due to your recommendation. I tried the Red Algae treatment and was loving the texture but I am pretty sure it caused very bad breakouts on my acne prone skin due to the very concentrated algae extract.
