Rick is most genuine kind hearted guy ever!! He has busted his butt all his life and still doing it!! He is just like his Dad!! Love and miss you Ron!! Merry Christmas to all of your families!
After growing up and living in Ohio for 45 years, I decided that I had had enough of winter, so I moved to Arkansas. We might get a snowstorm like that maybe once every 5 years. But if we wait a day or two, it turns 60 degrees and melts. But there is something quite satisfying about watching snow plowing. Enjoyed that video
You can tell Rick was a Michigander wearing a t-shirt like its 70. Lol. We dont need anything till it drops below zero then its time to dig out a hoodie. Cool plow btw
I can’t believe how good it did back dragging. That’s a huge plus when doing residential drives that don’t have anywhere to push snow when pulling in. Love the creativity of this guy.
Interesting plow, works well. I personally push a Western Wide Out. This one is over 10 years old and has been an outstanding piece of equipment for me.
Id be curious what kind of life expectancy that cutting edge offers. I know the western edges MIGHT get you through one average season of work. I replaced my worn western edges with thicker (and heavier) fabricated edges. Will see how these wear over stock. 🤞🏻🤞🏻
Thanks for the high-speed video. It helps really get a better perspective of how. you pick your lanes and have to plot it out. I'm guessing after a few more runs on this lot the team will have a coordinated dance together where everyone rakes to a certain area, and then someone else pushes it off. But what a process!
Wow. This is very interesting. I contacted Snopower a year ago about putting a live cutting edge on the pull plows to improve the scrape based on your reviews and your praise for the sectional pushers. From what they said it sounded like the Metalpless patented design limited their own options for developing a spring style live edge. Interesting to see what they came up with. Hope it works well and is reliable.
That's crazy how much snow you've got. I'm about 6 hours north of you guys in Canada and we have hardly anything the farmer's fields are just about bare!
All your videos are awesome. You definitely help out on the questions that weigh on some of our minds being in this industry and you keep us updated on the latest products. Keep them coming because I really enjoy watching them! Chris from C&D Service inc. Erie Pennsylvania!
Haven’t seen snow here in SW PA yet 😤. If we dont get some snow totals, will have to adjust my seasonal contracts down come 2023. Happy Holidays to all of you at DM and DM Force!! 🎅🏻❄️🎄🎁
That's always fun...we got about 6 to 8 inches up here in the Brainerd lakes area. And going to get another 6 to 8 between Christmas and new years....Then REAL winter starts for us (below 0 temps). Got to love Minnesota. Merry Christmas
No snow to plow here in southern Michigan, the only thing I've used my snowplow for so far is pushing a brush pile back while I was re-opening an old trail in the woods today. Thankfully my four-wheeler is small enough that it can't really break my plow.
That made me cold. It is fun watching you and your crew plow snow. It is going to be nearly 60 here for Christmas. No white Christmas this year. I am going to work in the yard. haha. Merry Christmas to you and yours. Stay safe and blessed. ☺🙏
Damn you guys have more snow down there than we do in Ontario... we don't have anything. I just do commercial sidewalks with snowblowers and itching for snow
Merry Christmas Brother from a snow fighter in S.D. !! My big truck I run for the state has 12' front plow and two 8' wings.. I can just about clear 2 lanes with it.. lol.. That new plow looks really great.. functional and durable.. 🖒🖒 God bless
Looks like the sledge is doing much better with the grooved tires. No snow here yet in Northwest Illinois, 60 degrees today (Dec 24th), but we are ready when it does.
Looks like you guys get a very decent amount of snow, we use a special tactic not to hog away too much parking spaces with snow piles, we blow the snow into wooded areas or large patches of grass areas, the customers pay a premium that is less expensive than to have it removed away by loader-truck, plus when the snow is blown off, the compaction ratio makes it such that you shrank the amount of snow on the premises, sometimes by a factor of 10 to 1, the downside is that as plowed snow melts slower than ordinary snow, but blown snow melts even slower because of density, but just using a snow blower mounted on a skid steer, is very profitable...
Plows and blowers alike, some have shear pins, some don't. I've had 6 snow blowers, all had auger shear pins, some had impeller pins, some didn't. I noticed, the ones that had shear pins that broke super often were also the ones shredding belt and having other mechanical failures. I'm not saying nobody should use shear pins, but they also shouldn't be a substitute for good design. You don't need to lea heavily on them to keep from damaging things.
Great job Stan . Upstate NY , we’re always behind the snowplow technology for some reason here in the northeast USA. ITS 3 am Today is a light ice event for a few hours turning to rain by mid day I got up to see if it’s slippery yet,I’m retired but work the winter storms to help.Local town highway dept. We have60 miles of mostly country roads with 4 10 wheel dumps, and a single axle dump that helps all 4 routes on steep hills and bad spots with straight run salt . The other trucks mix 2 or 3 buckets of salt with sand .anyway I love seeing the new stuff you show us ! Merry Christmas to you all ! Looks like I’ll be working for a few hours the rain should kill the ice by midday……I hope !….
Stanley, for a moment i thought that white Ram was yours. Its beautiful! Nice plow too.... Im suprised you didnt switch rigs so you could get the feel of the operation of that plow.
Merry Christmas Stan, great Christmas Eve video!!! I just got my 9’6” snowdogg VXFll v plow put on my truck now we just need some snow up here in Maine.
I'd really like to have a plow like this.. I think everyone should start with a straight blade. I see way too many guys running v-plows etc and getting too caught up in scoop mode, thinking that's making them faster, but in turn, forming less of a pattern and a ton more clean up. Whereas with a straight blade, you rely on windrows and cleaning up in a solid pattern.. a lot less clean up, but you don't move as much snow per pass.. now imagine if this plow could wing the entire plow, even just a bit.. and then with these wings.. Lord have mercy.. lol that would make my lots WAY faster to clear and then the final pushes at the end in scoop mode would be one pass only. 👌🏼 if they make a version of this plow with a wing feature in its entirety, I'd be buying one next season. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Holy crap the flakes you guys got compared to what we got in the north metro were way different. Jeez you guys got pounded. I'm glad we only had to be out 14hours. I was beat. Merry Christmas to you and your the family Stan! - Dan
I dont think 12k is overly expensive. I mean a wide-out xl is like 10-11k. And with inflation and material shortages 12k seems fair if the design and materials used stand the test of time/abuse.
30 years ago, I would see snow plows in front of trucks on a regular basis in my area. Nowadays, they have just about gone extinct. To be perfectly blunt, a truck just does not have the power of heavy construction equipment, or farm tractors. They are about all I ever see nowadays, for road and parking clearing. They move more snow faster, leave a cleaner surface and can pile it up way higher. Another quick note... We typically mark the curves with sticks before winter so that we don't have to do any guesswork about where they are.

I saw that plow on another channel and wondered how well it would move a lot of snow with that short moldboard and question answered ,lol. We're switching to Westerns as we replace a couple plows and absolutely love my Wideout XL. I got my Wideout XL for 8800 installed so I don't know if it would be worth another 3+K. Its a cool plow though!
Not to mention that a pickup truck with a plow that bis is useless if the snow is heavy and wet and deeper than 6”. Very cool for cleaning tough places.
@@gurgisgutters725 Ive learned in wet heavy crap its best to leave these containment type plows in scoop position and seems to go quicker than making a huge wind row of snow that takes forever to clean up. His other video shows it moving a crap ton of snow
