Everyone has been sleeping on the Burger King. I don’t know how or why but it’s absolutely preposterous.
It’s kinda crazy he is still playing in the AHL after his first season. He could easily be a 40+ point player. Gonna be interesting to see what happens.

With ice time, Berggren is a show-in for 20+ goals. That’s not my concern as a fan. My concern is the lack of two-way play, while asking for a bigger role. I still think he winds up as part of a trade package at or before the trade deadline, if not before this season kicks off.

@@doozey365 Hronek got $7.25m x 8yrs. He’s 26 yrs old and will take him until 34. It’s a good contract for what he provides a much needed RHD and a viable partner for Hughes LHD. He would have done the same for Seider if he wasn’t RHD. He had 48 pts but most of the production was due to the teams strong start season. Managed a plus 33, highest on team. You cannot tell me he’s not worth $7.25m. Especially as the contract ages and salaries go towards $100m cap. Montour 30 got $7.14m AAV and will take him to 37. He had 33pts or .50 ppg vs. Hronek .59 ppg. Sandin Pella is a great prospect but keep in mind, there are no guarantees. Hronek is a developed NHL 2-3 defensemen and will be playing for VAN through his UFA years which has just begun.

How is this hard to understand? Edvinsson took Walman’s spot, you know this because Walman was a healthy scratch for the final 6 games of the season. Gus replaces ghost as a bottom pair PP specialist, for 1 year less and 1.5 mil less per season. Instead of Walman and ghost, the wings have Ed and Gus for 3m less. That’s a win

I know there has been talk of trading Berggren from within the Wings organization, but I don't know how dead set they are about it. He is a VERY smart hockey player, who is likely to put up a lot of points, but he's also highly averse to the dirty areas, shies away from physical play in every respect, has virtually no interest in breakout plays, and generally treats the defensive zone like a mythical unicorn of legend. I'm not going to say that he'll never turn things around, but that's not the sort of player prized by Stevie Y.

Gus isnt even close to ghost offensive prowess, and only marginally better defensively.

rather have him develop one more year in the SHL so he can play with MBN on his team and gain some chemistry with him. Unless he is just so good already that it would be a waste having him in the SHL. I assume MBN won't be ready first year so it would be decent if they got to play together over in sweden
