  • I review the Specialized Turbo Levo expert at Riverhead forest. I have had a Levo before but this model has a lot of changes. Find out what I think of the bike.

      It is quite a bike for someone with no MTB experience but then I don't know your skill set. You may have done motor cross for years. Either way E MTB's are ridiculously good fun. @@bestdayevermtb2 Well, I'm pretty athletic and do a lot of sports, a lot of road biking and a lot of snowboarding, especially off piste, in the trees, so maybe the skillset to dodge trees in snow can help with MTB... I will test ride in 2 weeks and my LBS has a Levo Expert S3 on reserve for me, pretty excited... Climbing and descending on trails that I had no idea were possible and still getting a great workout. Unfortunately I used Turbo mode maybe... 1 minute in total... So, will consider a 2023 Levo SL... I am 176cm tall. I currently ride a 462 reach. I think this bike is 450. I think I could technically ride either size. I would be curious to try the S4. The owner of this bike had the seat very low for me. I brought it up as much as I could but then it wouldn't operate. I could have tried to feed the cable through the frame but am always reluctant to mess too much with other peoples bikes. I think the seat post was a 150drop. I would probably want a longer one if I had it up to my height. Saying all that I also reviewed the Santa Cruz Bullit a size medium with 450 reach and really enjoyed the handling so maybe I should be going for the slightly smaller bikes. Plenty of tracks without trees but I love riding in the trees. Much prefer it over riding in the open. Lots of e bikers are from MX or do both. My friend says E bikes have 90% of the fun of a MX bike but only 10% of the aggravation.

    Bottom line? Is it worth the upgrade from the old levo for the money? Specifically the ride quality?

    Hi great video, I am waiting for my S3 levo comp carbon to be delivered. $6750 USD in the online winter sale. Now back up to $9k, couldn't resist my first e bike from a alloy comp epic which I love. I wanted to get my wife out more the new sizing means the S3 will fit her 5'4" and also me 5'10". So when she's out I'll be on my epic and when I'm out with my mate we will be on e bikes he's just bought a Obea H15. So it's his fault that I have pulled the trigger on the levo🤣. I was wondering how tall are you?

    • @bestdayevermtb2
      @bestdayevermtb2  ปีที่แล้ว

      I am 176cm tall so similar to your height. I think the S3 would have been just fine for me although would probably been fine on the s4 also. Have fun on your new bike.

      This is a really good question. The reality is E bikes really haven't been around long enough for a lot of data on this. Even a five year old bike is old technology in a lot of ways. My plan is to never keep a bike long enough to find out.

    No mention of how the motor performed through the different modes

    • @bestdayevermtb2
      @bestdayevermtb2  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I must admit with the very limited time frame I didn't really bother with that but rather how the bike handled. The Specialized modes are easily customized so you can kind of decide how much power you want in each mode. I used to have 30 30, 40 40 and 50 100 as my three. Was keen to try the microtune but the owner didn't know how that worked so I left that.
