I fish a river that spills into St Claire on the Ontario side. There's a fairly healthy smallmouth population, some decent pike and even the occasional Muskie that probably made its way up here. I actually don't feel dumb fishing 30lb braid as my main line because of it. Not that I've ever hooked one but you know, it could happen. And I'd hate for it to be on my 6lb fluro spinning rod. I'd love to fish St Claire itself sometime, looked pretty incredible and it's stark to see how clear it is. Especially knowing how muddy the water I'm fishing is and that it spills directly into that lake.
This is awesome right by my house , fletchers pond is my favorite spot so far in michigan for pike and bass. Can't beat lake Saint Clair or the river for walleye and perch

If you pause at 13:02 you can see the fish has a full undamaged caudal fin (tail) but at 3:15 the caudal fin (tail) is damaged so I think the caudal fin (tail) broke when he dropped the fish
@@JayLee-od8ob dude dropped the fish square on its tail from 4ft in the air. You can see it had a full tail before it hit. Don’t really matter now, but trying to boat flip the fish in and fumbling it caused that damage.
I live in Detroit so it’s cool to see you fish in Lake saint clair! In my opinion the best lure to use in there is a swimbait. Glad you had a good time!

Hey 1Rod, odd request but you should go to Heritage Park in Canton, Michigan. There’s three ponds there to fish but for me I find it extremely hard to find bass there. As good of a fishermen that you are, I was hoping to see if someone like you could do the impossible, and find a bass in any of the three ponds. Very weedy conditions!

You can watch it in .25 speed and see when it came out of the water with its full tail and then it slams the deck and snaps off.
