To my daughter Annie. You are # 1. No one better than you. God has got your back always. Don't worry about falling down; Worry if you fly. Dad will alwaysl love you; till his last breath and then from above. Love hugs n prayers Dada ❤️🙏
I have a question. Why was this song re-done in the first place as well as "Gonna Take A Lot Of River" and "Beyond Those Years"? If y'all felt as if you had to right some kind of wrong, I just have one thing to say to that: Blowing out Steve's candle will NOT make ANY other lit candles shine ANY brighter. (forever wishing that I had discovered that late beautiful precious sooner) God bless you and his family always!!! Holly in East Tennessee
Why doesn't William Lee Golden sing any of the songs with Steve on lead? I hear Joe, Duane and Richard singing the lead on those songs that Steve sang, but I am baffled to the reason why not William Lee Golden? William Lee Golden has a great voice and could do those songs easily.
Dunno, maybe they don't want to feel like they're "replacing" him or didn't want to compare them. I forgot, did they get Steve to lead any of the songs WLG did?
That is a very good question Con Rar. I know Steve and William both sang and William still sings Thank God For Kids. Who sang it first is still a mystery to me.
Wow!! I can't believe how bad this sounds. This is one of my top 5 favorite songs EVER. What on earth is happening here? This song has ALWAYS sounded great until I heard this particular recording. Puke!!
Not a fan of this version. The original is better. I'm not sure why they re-recorded Steve songs. For years they wouldn't acknowledge Steve I imagine because they were still upset about how he left the band in the middle of a tour. Joe would talk glowing of him in his last few years so perhaps he forgave and forgot, not sure about the others.

+Stan “Lefty” Vanalstine By the time they recorded this song, William Lee Golden had long left the group, so his voice isn't in this song at all.
I'm pretty sure I can hear this voice in this particular version though. WLG was in the group at this time :)

Is William Lee singin' lead, here? Steve Sanders, the original singer, unfortunately committed suicide.
This song isn't as good without Steve Sanders in the baritone slot.

There older now losing their voices
They got old--happens to all of us.
