    Diana are probably the most under used rifle in the uk, but are also one of the most accurate springers out there and the t06 trigger is as good as if not better than any springer out today.

    Diana … I once knew a Diana who was a true Magnum Springer in her own right … and the rifle is excellent also ! The hand shaped stock … the fine steel work … and 16 foot pounds is plenty of knock down power

    I have the Diana 470 TH, also in .177. In most, the exact same rifle except no fixed sights and a thumbhole stock. If you stumble over one - but it! They stopped making them last year I believe.
    You can safely fit the Vortek HO kit if you like, it retains the accuracy. Beware of barrel droop if you fit a scope.

    I have Diana 460 in 22. I love the fit and finish. My biggest complaint is the loading breech. It doesn't hold the pellet too tightly and if it falls back, it drops down and out to the floor. Nothing like the HW97. Great video and once more thank you for sharing.

    The Diana 430-440-460-K98 series rifles have a defect in the cocking lever mechanism. A steel pin tends to break from the repeated stress of cocking the powerful mainspring. I've experienced three pin failures in my Dianas rifles in the mentioned model numbers, specifically a 430 and two K98s. If you are going to keep your 460, you may wish to keep a few of the pins in question on hand. I ordered pins from TWC in England.
    I cringe every time I cock the Dianas with the mentioned undercover cocking system.

    You are right... Diana make some nice air rifles... I have the 280 break barrel with the TO6 trigger.
    When I got it new it felt over sprung and hard to cock so replaced the spring with a smaller diameter and thinner wired one...with appropriate top hat and guide. Now it's easy to cock and produces more muzzle energy... I can't figure that!!!

    You could have moved the front sight closer to the camera and paused it there for longer, Kevin, small scree on a phone. And could have given us an accurate pull weight of the cocking weight by using a scale. Especially seeing you believe this one is of a higher weight. I'm only attempting to be helpful;
    a review really should cover all the aspects of a gun.
    Thanks for showing it.
    A plastic, too wide front sight on such a gun with a reputation as that one would be a deal breaker.

      @razor1962  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @Byerdikhan Khizmyet as I understand it, there's a ridiculous power limit, or is it a velocity limit of 500 fps. Something to that effect in Canada. That makes it hard to get serious about airguns. Unless I'm completely mistaken, and there is no such restriction...?

      @@razor1962 exactly , if you dont have a firearm license you are stuck with under 495fps red ryders and gamos that have been detuned. It is such a ridiculous rule that makes you not bother at all. Funny thing is that 495fps doesnt apply to calibers. I used to own Prosport and helped my friends to import Tx200, walther parrus, fx impact, diana 48, 54, hw9 etc. Today was looking at stoeger 3000c youth rifle and thinking of buying out of desperation. So you would undertsand the dire situation in Canada.

    Great video, really like the look of the Diana 460, how do you think the 460 compares to the Weihrauch HW's & Air Arms TX200 in terms of performance and quality of fit & finish ?

    • @razor1962
      @razor1962  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks very much. Performance wise, the 460 is a little less accurate at least with the pellets that I've tested so far. It's slightly more powerful than the 97 which is more powerful than the TX200. Fit and finish goes to the TX200 with the 97 not far behind. The 460's (Diana guns in general) metal work isn't polished quite as much as the HWs and the TX is just a world beyond with their bluing. The 460 stock however is very, very nice. I'd like to see less plastic on the 460.

    Too bad for me, it doesn't come in a left handed version. Actually, I am right handed, but my dominant eye is the left one. Unlike what most people think, it is the eye that determines the orientation of the rifle, not the hand. I learned to fire the FN FAL 'left handed' 42 years ago, when I did my military service in the Belgian army. I got used to it in only a couple of days. Now, I can't even imagine picking up and shooting a gun right handed.

      I don't have the space to perform a 100-yard test, nor do I consider 100 yards to be a reasonable distance for a typical, piston powered air rifle.
