    I'd Much rather watch all of Johnny's Re-runs even tho they're All Gone now.. (and, I Do! Every night!), than to watch All of those Political Late Shows on Today with those who 'call themselves' Actors and Comedians. And None of them cld Ever shine the shoes of those who came before them. "TY Johnny, and to your Once in Our Lifetime Guests, who sent us off to sleep every night with a big Smile on our face, 'instead of' Raising our BP. We Miss you so.. and may You All Rest in Peace~ ❤️ 😪

      I agree totally but it was a different time we lived in. Not sure if better or not. As the old saying goes " ignorance is bliss". Too bad we can't have actual factual news shows and then other programming. When Reagan shut down the FCC ruling that news channels had to provide truthful news instead of Fox Entertainment bs. Reagan also helped Rupert Murdoch get his US citizenship so he could start the Conservative/Republican/rich Oligarchs " news channel" to spread their propaganda. So much of today's problems goback to the Reagan Administration such as military hardware spending and trickle down economics that made the rich extremely richer faster and as we've seen the rich have so many tax loopholes that they don't pay taxes. I on the other hand paid 36 cents out of every dollar I made and my best year was 365 straight 12 hour days. I made 145,000 and never saw much of a tax refund.

      BIG TIME understatement. Though the late, great Robin Williams routinely would invoke Jonathan Winters and called him "The King" as few, if any, could tell a funny story like Jonathan. May sound cliche, but the saying THEY DON'T MAKE 'EM LIKE THAT ANYMORE sure does apply to Jonathan Winters.

    Everything Jonathan says is sad & hurtful but he learned to laugh at it. And he helps us re-experience those years by laughing at his difficulties. It cannot help anyone to feel sad over, then resent & stew in bad memories. He spent a year & a half at the 'farm' learning how to live with a horrific past, & stay positive. I really admire how he cured himself! through painting & humor & seeing his tough years as a story ... Bravo.
    We're heading back now into a version of what they experienced.

I've seen them several times and one of the funniest is the story about Christmas at his house and having chickens on his 2 acres of property. His comedy is like that of a mad scientist , you never knew where he was going! A classic comedian , along with Rickles and Dangerfield. His roast of Frank Sinatra is also hilarious! I totally agree! Like Winters, I thought Robin Williams was a genius too and a great actor as well, but I never liked Robins language and crudeness. I think what makes Jonathon superior is that for all his zaniness he knew when to put on the brakes. He could be hilarious without using profanity or vulgarity to shock or embarass his audience into laughing. I don't think Robin quite knew how to do that. With Robin you just opened the cage door and held on until he exhausted himself!

    Jonathan Winters is the greatest in my opinion. Number 1 next to Robin Williams (RIP to both). I remember when Winters came on the show one time and brought the navy hat and showed it to Carson, I had just recovered from a cough and I caught it again cause I was laughing non stop that night, he just went full on Jonathan Winters mode, one after another after another. Good times.

      Winter was William’s mentor. They are definitely 1 and 2!

    For those who don't find Winters funny, there are plenty of other videos to make your presence known on.
    You either "get" him or you don't.
    Let us enjoy without your ignorant input.
    As a young kid, I saw him the first time, and could NEVER get enough. Watched him any chance I got.
    And still laughing today.

    Johnathan Winters , shoulda got an Oscar in it's a mad mad mad mad ? Mad world , and yea always great whenever you saw him always a surprise crazy guy n o course Johnny Carson wasn't any slouch either always had great people on , well let's just say you know , the 60s-70s best years for tv n comedy though at the time you know we didn't think it was so great but lokkin from 80s on worlds just gone go hell last ,40 yrs or so , guess that means I'm just a grumpy old guy now , enjoy your youth young people as I see things now don't think it'll get better .it hasn't so far except old shows n movies got better with age

    Watching Jonathan Winters even for a few minutes tells you why he was a role model for Robin Williams. 35 years or so later, this is still funny as [word I cannot use]. What am amazing mind.

    Even as a kid I had a different sense of humor and I remember staying up late to watch Jonathan Winters. He was brilliant. Then when he was on Mork and Mindy he stole the show and stealing the show from the likes of Robin Williams was no small feat.

    • @37silverstreak1
      @37silverstreak1 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      I don't think he really "stole the show" From Robin. Jonathon was one of Robin's idols and I think they bounced off one another like nuclear chain reaction! I heard that they had a heck of a time keeping Robin and Jonathon on script when producing the show, that they kind of gave up and let them just improvise. They were such kindred souls.
