I don't know how I describe the distressing emotion the song conveys.
I declare this is one of the outstanding canzoni.
The first time of my encouter to this song was when I was 15 in the midst of adolescence, and almost got drowned in the strong emotion.
Since that time, whenever I listen to the song, I can't help feeling I were born Italian.
But at the same time, I have had a big ?.
Wonder if there's a woman being so heartless and cruel playing on the desparate love of her arorer.
I listend to this song in Amalfi by an italian tenor with the orchestra. It was one of the greatest moments of my life.

+Lucius Vorenus I do agree, It´s not just singing, it´s too about expressions, emotions, and vocal interpretation, I consider that (in this song) Placido is the best, because I compared the interpretation with the Three Tenors and Placido was just fantastic, he was almost crying, I do recommend to you that video, you´ll love it.

No entiendo mucho de registros y performances, pero de despues de muchos meses de escuchar conciertos, canzonetas y fragmentos de operas descubri que mas alla de entender hay que sentir... y cuando veo este video es inevitable que brote una lagrima de lo mas profundo y eso es por el sentimiento que transmite Placido en esta interpretacion como en muchas otras... te despierta una pasion que te hace querer aprender cada dia mas... seguir conociendo... descubriendo...
