I'm so glad they were able to rescue this eaglet I follow this nest on a regular basis and when I saw that I started crying.... hopefully no bones or anything or broken in the chick It will make a happy healthy recovery...... I hope you show a follow up video of how the parents are doing once the eagle it was back in the nest
That was a tiring harrowing rescue. Those nests are in a precarious spot. Goodness. I’m certainly glad you blazed a trail so you didn’t have to cross the face of that mountain. God bless all three of you. @Dr. Sharpe, could you tell us the names of the team you had with you? 👵🏻
I'm sure Dr. Sharpe doesn't read this chat, but there is an article that discussed the rescue and lists the team members. thecatalinaislander.com/conservationists-rescue-fallen-eaglet/?fbclid=IwAR3Iu7Nxgenm3mPkMoeK7WjnQndvtWaQ9HCqomLRpDvbi378gV_D6gd8N7w
what would the parents normally do in this situation if humans didn't intervene? would they try to move the chick back with their beaks or talons or abandon it?
They are not able to move it back to the nest. Any attempts to do so would likely kill it and I have never seen an adult try to do it. If they could locate it, they would continue to feed it where it is. Unfortunately, in that location, it would have eventually fallen off the side.
See a robin would have done something, if you take a baby robin or if it fell and you handle it the mom will go after you in your eyes, looks like the eagles didn,t care. They could have got it with their legs to safety, if they can carry a big stick thsts heavy and they do they could sure carry their baby eaglet.
@@paulk2022 No Paul, look on youtube here, there is a black stork, I think their not good birds. It takes its baby picks it up from the nest throws it down a couple of times a d than grossly eats ITS it, it's so gross, but I know if an eagle can pick up a big stick and carry it long distances it can carry its esglet
What an amazing rescue. Thanks to all 3 of you.
Слава Богу всё в порядке и гнездо поправили, ветками обложили. 😘🌷🌎🌙☀️💫🌠

Glenn could carry a big fish she could sure carry her eaglet the same way
The fish would most likely be dead. So would the eaglet if she tried to carry it.
❤
Very dangeros rescue for wildlife
大変だ。ご苦労さま!

Eagle talons are designed to kill prey and trying to pick up and eaglet would likely result in its death.
