I remember the day she passed, Christmas day I believe. I was so hurt the radio had all her songs on repeat so I guessed she passed. I hope her daughter's fine. My friend brought her album to school and let me hold it and I took it home and learned all her songs. I thought Teena was Black when I first heard her.
Teena is still one of my most Favorite R&B Artist of all times because she also had and amazing soulful singing voices. Nevertheless we miss her and may she Rest In Peace.

This is the weirdest thing. I had never heard of her before yesterday. I caught a song in a cafe and thought, "Who's this? This is really good..." SoundHounded the track, downloaded it. A day later I have downloaded another 26 of her songs. She's fucking phenomenal. I'm trying to work out WHY I'd never heard of her before. She did have a few hits in the UK, but not that many. I guess it just fell through the gaps in my cultural tiling.

She was one of my favorite artists ever since I heard “Deja Vu” on the quiet storm when I was still a teenager.
