Hiya, I've been watching for a while and love how you consistently keep up with your hobby and experiment. We both seem to like simple small music boxes that offer more than meets the eye. You might like the Norns from Monome. It's a simple build but offers a TON of versatility.
@@FreeBeat it truly is intimidating lol. I think mostly because of the branding and esoteric language. The point is to explore these mysterious sound scapes and tools. You can of course delve into it and get as complicated as you want. They have an ezpz diy norns shield or the premium from monome. Out of all these fun lil sound boxes, I think norns offers the most potential. I've had the thing a week and already have some script ideas. One especially for new people to guide them a lil better 😉
I’m primarily a guitar player, and I’m really impressed by the reverbs on this device. They sound better than the reverbs in many guitar-oriented pedals. Btw What are using to get the guitar up to line level at the input?
The splitter is just going into my audio interface. It has two 1/4" inputs for a stereo channel so I have to split it. Doesn't actually effect anything in the bass or NTS-1.
I never thought of doing that (I play my guitar through iOS effects) but now I want to try it out. I just packed the guitar, mixer and nts-1 yesterday though. Doh! Good stuff. Cheers. Lee
I've used some of the Korg Monotron things for echo and filter effects, but just for "fun". It's cool that the NTS does these, and maybe more, way better cooler effects that you might be able to pay for, but as standalone, there are probably a hundred mutieffectspedals that can do everything you did here, just much cheaper.
it’s a completely programmable digital synth and there’s tons of free custom effects and oscillators online, there’s not really any cheap pedals up to par with it, the boss stomp boxes are basically the pedal equivalent of this
Very cool. Love my nts. Quick question I’m trying to understand your routing. How come you just didn’t go from the guitar to NTs like 1/4 mono to 1/8? Just wondering. Like the cord i use for the volcas ? Thanks so much
The direct output of an electric guitar is pretty low, so I'd imagine he's doing it to get it to a better level for the NTS-1 to pick up since there is no input level control on the NTS-1
thats very interesting. what a lovely versatile little box the Nts-1 is huh. can you remind us how you manage to quieten the nts-1’s rather noisy usb / power channel so it sounds cleaner? thank you n keep on keepin on mate jb x
Hey mate! can the three effects be set on at the same time? Or one at the time? I mean: if I switch on Reverb can I have Delay too? Or I need to select which one of them?
@@FreeBeat Thanks! I just ordered this equipment after seeing your videos. Looking forward to start using that. Wich are the best custom oscillators to get, in your opinion? Cheers
HI ! i'm guitar player , i play synthetizer too , i happy to hear the sound of the guitar in the NTS . I would hear more sound like very synthetic sound ... I play Midi guitar like yourock guitar , and il love play with digitel sound . Invite one of your friend play guitar to experiment more sound ! thanks for this video .
If you add any kind of pre-amp pedal (like Joyo American Sound), with NTS-1 it can be a very fun budget combo.
Great advice!

Also, you can use MIDI, touchosc, or raw audio with it. No need to get their expensive Grid or Arc controller.
It's on my list but it is a bit intimidating to me haha. Thanks for watching!

Nice trick !! 👍 Lovely sounds
Thank you!

Hey man, I'd use a small headphone amplifier.
Audio out split where does red go and same with black .... 1 goes back and 1 goes out?

Hey someone caught it! That's a confidence boost right there lol, thanks!
"I'm not a guitarist" *goes on to play a Rush riff* awesome stuff!
Hahaha that was a fluke!
@@FreeBeat HA if you say so!!!
Yes that's an awesome combination! I did that with a friend of mine too.
So much fun!
Is there anything the nts1 can't do?
love yur vids. keep up the good work!
I never thought of doing that (I play my guitar through iOS effects) but now I want to try it out. I just packed the guitar, mixer and nts-1 yesterday though. Doh! Good stuff. Cheers. Lee
Definitely give it a shot when you get the chance, it's a lot of fun!
May this be put in the amplifier's FX loop?
With a bit of hassle and some adjustments I'd say that you definitely can. You should probably get some adapters for the guitar cable

Very interesting. The nts 1 does not turn off when using it only as an effects processor without touching its keys? Thanks!
I believe there's a setting for it in one of the boot menus!

@@tylersmith3979 ahhh that makes sense. Thank you !!
Yup, the Livetrak L-12 has hi-z inputs so it can take the place of using a normal amp to get the signal up to what it needs to be :)
@@FreeBeat thank you cool!!
Does this little device connect into my Akia MPC ONE
Yup! It's got 3.5 mm MIDI in, 3.5mm audio in, and 3.5mm audio out. Connect it however you'd like :)
@@FreeBeat wow would you recommend me using this device with guitar for my Akia MPC ONE
@@FreeBeat can i just use a 1/4 stereo to dual 1/4 mono cable to connect directly into mpc one
@@pierrefitch Yup! In either direction haha

Thanks! As for the noisy usb jack, I don't really do anything to quiet it haha.

You can use any/all of the effects at the same time :) I do that many times in this video actually!

很好听的声音探索,这个NTS1的可玩性真的很高
Thanks so much!
Get well soon x
Thanks :)
Id love to see this with a nylon acoustic
So where did the feedback come from? That seems so weird to me.
Yeah definitely strange, sounded cool though!
probably from the guitar
Sounded awesome

Hahaha I don't know about that, but thanks!
Yeah, why not!
Definitely!
Now to mod this into a pedal...
That would be pretty cool!
Didn’t know you played guitar too! You’re a one man band!
Haha I think "play" is a strong word :D Thanks as always though!
He certainly is! 1000% if DAW is included! ♥️
can u make a video on how u connect guitar with nts1 😂.
You'll want to plug it into an amp or something with an instrument level input, then plug the output of that into the NTS-1 :)
what else?
?
wow
🤘😁🤘
Thanks for watching!
Is there an instrument you can't make sound great? Like a one-man band. Thanks FB.
I tried bagpipes and an accordion going thru the NTS-1. It turned into stellar ambient. So no, I don't think so. 😆
