What I HATE, is that dealers are going to go super precious about these and either jack the prices OR mile them out as demos and sell to friends or at a premium before auctioning them off in the US or pillaging someone’s pocket book here. What drives me nuts is that RAM makes no more money if the dealer jacks the prices or the secondary market goes sky high. So why not take advantage of its popularity and make more of them, so many that people can’t get precious about them. RAM will sell every single one they make no matter the volume, and all they risk is making more happy customers and developing a modicum of good will with the buying public. Normal people have been sidelined from enjoying interesting vehicles because of hype, manufacturer caused rarity, and a way too hot secondary market. I don’t understand the reasoning behind making things like this rare. I saw one listed near me months ago (obviously a pre-sale-purchase) and ir was listed 50k over MSRP. All this stuff does is make me hate dealers, manufacturers and the industry as a whole all the more. There used to be good will, excitement and innovation in the car market and that has managed to evaporate with excitement being more and more relegated to ONLY high end cars of rarity. One day, maybe never, a manufacturer will figure out how to make things exciting, affordable and functional all at the same time. I’d point out I’m in a position to buy nice vehicles, but value still matters where money is concerned and respect for customers doesn’t look like highway robbery…
Just give it a year, realistically these should be sold 5-10% off MSRP. The car market, especially for FCA products, is in shambles. Grand Wagoneers commonly being sold for $25k+ off sticker after the initial hype went down on those.
@ I wish I could be that confident. Sadly I don’t think that will be the case at all. It all depends on how many they produce annually. Being a halo vehicle for RAM, I doubt they will make enough to languish on lots.
All the V8 comments lol. I realize most of these people have no experience with import vehicles. There is a history of Inline Turbo 6 cylinders producing monster powder that NA V8’s can’t touch for the price. The RHO is essentially an off road BMW M. And we all know a simple tune will net over 100HP (google JB4). To me, RAM produced an awesome platform to mod.
I think your a bit off comparing a na v8 to a forced induction i6 the trx is a blown v8 and if you compare a hemi 5.7 with just a dod delete with a mild cam can make really good power and bmw b58 for example bolt on will cost around 3k to reflash ecu your looking at over $1,200 with a tune and dodge is already having issues with the i6 engine not to mention the electrical issue they have

It's an awesome truck! I could care less about the V8. Supercharged V8 trucks drive so front end heavy they suck offroad unless your doing a sand drag or something. This motor can be tuned to 650hp pretty easily. They've been doing it in the Wagoneer's and it won't weigh an extra 500lbs in the front. What concerns me though, is the suspension and chassis refinements. The Raptor has been around for 15 years. That's a lot of development that Ford and Fox have done that Ram just doesn't have yet. The interior and the motor is definitely better than the Raptor though.

It's kind of ironic V8 sound is supposed to be related to the sound of power. How dare i change my illusion of power via sound for an actually much more powerful engine. By the tune of 150 hp stock. And could get 100hp more at the tires with $550 piggy back tuner. As the V8 watches the i6 pull city blocks on it.

However, after sitting in a Raptor and sitting in a TRX (my local dealers don’t have the RHO yet), the Ram is the clear choice for me. The TRX’s interior is almost on a luxury car level, and what’s crazy is per the many reviews I’ve watched, the RHO’s interior is even better than the TRX’s for much less money. The Ram has massaging front seats plus heated AND ventilated seats in the front and rear which the Raptor only has heated in the rear. The Ram has the most legroom in the full-size, half-ton truck segment, and the RHO has self driving which is the only wide body truck with that feature. The RHO is the only truck in its segment with a passenger screen so the passenger and control features and watch videos without distracting the driver. Etc, etc. Plus with the top of the line RHO being about $10k cheaper than a top of the line Raptor, without the cheap feeling interior of the Raptor, and have more power and torque, the RHO is a no-brainer for me.
