The RHO is a super cool truck hands down. The average person who goes to work however does not need the drivetrain equipment it comes with. The price you pay and the maintenance cost to upkeep it is highly impractical. The premium price tag is catered to high salary earners. A truck like Rebel G/T that is a highly capable truck and the offroad it can do wil be more than anyone will put it through.
For sure its not a trx and the lack of the V8 is sad but Im surprised it looks good, I6 usually have great torque and I would consider this over the new tundra any day 5s 0-60 is an absolutely great number
This is the kind of engine that I would want in a mid sized rwd sedan, not a big pickup truck, and not with so much output either. It is just begging to explode with that much boost. This engine downsizing thing has gone too far. I'm not an engineer and I'm not a metallurgical expert, so what do I know? But it seems like most vehicles these days are equipped with engines that are being asked to do too much to last, all the while gas mileage is not really improving because the size and weight of the vehicle is increasing at the same time as power output is increasing while displacement decreases.
You said it yourself you're not an engineer... Everything is relative. This engine is designed to do what it's doing and nothing inside of it is any more stressed than a n/a V8.
Huge RAM fan here. Former owner of a 2023 TRX Havoc and current owner of a 4xe GC Trailhawk and JL RubiconX. For the first time in my life, I am looking elsewhere when my lease is up on the GC. I put money down on the new Scout. Stellantus has all but ruined Ram and yes Jeep. They lead the way with the Cummins and have done very little to advance it. The 4xe has not changed since it was introduced. All though we love the GC 4xe and it has been flawless, I don’t think I will buy another one unless they start innovating.
Coming from the UK I am perplexed by your advertiser . You can save up to $1300 on an extended warranty. How much is it in the first place?? Isn’t it about time the likes of Ford etc upped their warranties to match the like of Kia (7 years here). Great Video by the way wish we got trucks like these

Pushed 470hp in the dunes comfortably with zero overheating. Put over 600 hours on it driving hard without any failure. Build your own. Its worth it. Before 2014 I couldn't even do an oil change.
The engine sound out the back is good. Out the side would be better imo. Still way better than the stock six banger pipes! Sounds like an M class BMW. It's not for everyone but I think it sounds good!
Where I grew up & what My Wife & I are teaching our kids, is as time progresses, you’re supposed to get better! I think Stellantis isn’t just regressing Mopar, I think they’re trying to kill them all together! Mainly because sure they were such a power house!
@ fair, it does have a nice rumble to it. One of my favorite v6 truck sounds is definitely the old GMC cyclone. Sounds so mean and rough from that turbo 4.3. Also It’s similar to the Buick gnx
As a current Raptor owner, I'm interested in the RHO. The TRX and Raptor R were never a consideration for me. I have fast cars for that kind of stuff and while I respect the TRX and R, I don't understand those that buy it. If you want to go fast buy a fast car which neither the TRX or the R are. With as much trouble as Stellantis is in right now, I would expect to see these trucks at $15K to $20K off sticker and have financing offers. A number of dealer's are already taking orders at $10K off sticker. I don't think it is out crazy to expect to see base trucks in the mid $50K range with loaded trucks in the low $60K. The current car/truck market isn't going to support trucks in the $80+K range unless something happens with interest rates and fuel prices.
If you don’t understand why someone wants a fast truck I don’t know what to say man. It’s obvious why. I bought a TRX because it’s fast and I tow and race it as well. It’s a work horse for me with the fun included. I could have bought a new corvette, Porsche or Audi but nothing excites me more than an off-road work horse with speed and comfort. Pretty easy reason why people buy it. And considering you bought a raptor, you at the time were looking with similar experience even probably before the TRX or Raptor R came out.
For the money, this is a crazy deal. Considering people are getting them fully loaded for $72k ALREADY, I can’t help but think it’s going to be much more popular than anyone expects.
I think this is a good truck for the intended buyer. The six cylinder will be great because most prospective buyers are going to run this thing with the gas light on
I like it! Lot's of fun features that I hope finds their way into other models. And even though GM's Super Cruise may be better, at least RAM now offers a hands-free driving system. And that's a great thing on it's own. Now, the exhaust sound doesn't seem to be horrible, but I'd need to hear more of it to make my mind up about it. Nothing excites me about the sound so far though. Really cool model all-in-all! They needed to put the HO Hurricane in the TRX platform anyway, so here it is. It's not a TRX... but I really like it! Active suspension is a great thing and should be standard in a lot more vehicles, not to mention RAM trucks. That system alone is enough to want to get one of these. Would sure love to see an active suspension system in the Power Wagon and the Rebel, HD and half-ton!
I think it sounds decent and when you drive it in sport mode if you can turn Baja exhaust on probably sounds better, ram did a good job with the truck it looks like it’s a good all-around fun truck that will definitely put a smile on your face it’s not a V-8 but it reminds me of the bronco raptor super fun to drive and always puts a smile on your face and comfortable, Just wish they could get the cost of these vehicles down it’s getting out of hand, I do think ram will sell a good amount of these trucks when people can afford them.
Nobody does, but the image sure sells them. Just like the off road trim Subarus, "off road" is a selling feature these days, not just off road, but special capabilities over the standard off road version, such as the outback wilderness edition, i see a ton of those, my brother even has one.
Just as Ram releases something cool, although overpriced as usual, their parent company is on the verge of closing up Dodge, Chrysler, Jeep, Ram. CEO running it into the ground, laying off all the workers, etc...we'll see if Ram still exists to be able to sell this truck.
This Non American CEO has killed an iconic American brand. You are right it sucks because people like that CEO care about his pockets now then long term.

I think there is a place for turbo online 6 engines even in the truck market but I also don't think it should replace the V8. My dad had an 08 ram for a long time and even though it was driven hard and didn't get oil changes as often as it probably should have it never had an issue.

For sure its not a trx and the lack of the V8 is sad but Im surprised it looks good, I6 usually have great torque and I would consider this over the new tundra any day
5s 0-60 is an absolutely great number
This makes me value my real Trx even more.
All the manufacturers are going to smaller engines for the emissions reduction.. it has absolutely nothing to do with fuel mileage.
Fr like bring the hellcat engines back
You said it yourself you're not an engineer... Everything is relative. This engine is designed to do what it's doing and nothing inside of it is any more stressed than a n/a V8.
Or put this engine in a redesigned Dakota
Alex in the back seat just hanging on for deal life 🤣🤣
It doesn't sound like the V8 and it shouldn't it's an inline 6. Not a deal breaker for me. I have mine on order. Can't wait to get it.

3:00 was about when I started to gag from the repulsive sound 😅

Coming from the UK I am perplexed by your advertiser . You can save up to $1300 on an extended warranty. How much is it in the first place?? Isn’t it about time the likes of Ford etc upped their warranties to match the like of Kia (7 years here). Great Video by the way wish we got trucks like these
So now the answer to is it reliable is buy a warranty from us ? ??
When Stellantis said they were bringing a six popper I was hoping for a Slant Six. Those sounded great with straight pipes back in the day
I built a baha tacoma a while back. All said and done it cost me 47k usd. 06 trd 4 door, full travel link suspension with links above the bed, huge 16 inches of droop, built and tuned coilovers, fiber fenders and body f,enders, reinforced frame and body, upgraded arms and links, axels, re geared, rear locked, built offload transmission up to 600hp, beadlock 35s, full skidplate from links to rear shocks, gutted interior with only two front seats, recaro trophy seats, 5 point harness, 3 point roll cage, all electronic dash stand alone with iPad touchscreen , Alcantara wheel with panels hooked up to the 4s8 trans, snd it had a fully built td cummins.
Pushed 470hp in the dunes comfortably with zero overheating. Put over 600 hours on it driving hard without any failure.
Build your own. Its worth it. Before 2014 I couldn't even do an oil change.
What in the v6 j35 Honda muffler delete did ram do???
It will definitely sell . It’s basically a 3.5 raptor match . Still a capable truck
The engine sound out the back is good. Out the side would be better imo. Still way better than the stock six banger pipes! Sounds like an M class BMW. It's not for everyone but I think it sounds good!
@@blueheelerfriend8450 if you want a truck like that then buy a Honda
Where I grew up & what My Wife & I are teaching our kids, is as time progresses,
you’re supposed to get better! I think Stellantis isn’t just regressing Mopar, I think they’re trying to kill them all together! Mainly because sure they were such a power house!
I don’t mind the sound, it’s actually slightly better than a regular raptor since I just prefer I6 engines over v6’s
The gen 3 raptor def sounds better when comparing the two
@ fair, it does have a nice rumble to it. One of my favorite v6 truck sounds is definitely the old GMC cyclone. Sounds so mean and rough from that turbo 4.3. Also It’s similar to the Buick gnx
These videos make me want to be an automotive journalist.
I actually like the sound ok, i6 is much better than a boring i4 or v6
I wanna go back to the 90's with high performance 2wd trucks. But, you've seen my comments and at this point, I'm beating a dead horse.
The bots are out in force today
Truck does seem legit. I don't understand why they went away from the TRX though. Having this truck and the TRX would just give buyers more options.
I bought a truck to go fast and it goes fast. 😂
You can have a fast car c6 zR1 and a fast truck TRX that sounds good.
Don’t have to settle
Solid advice!
Agreed, except for the gas prices part. Fuel is cheap right now.
I love the exhaust sound, ive always been a big fan of the i6.
2:57 sounds like fiat 500 😅😅
That's more than enough power. Very nice truck.
For the money, this is a crazy deal. Considering people are getting them fully loaded for $72k ALREADY, I can’t help but think it’s going to be much more popular than anyone expects.
I think this is a good truck for the intended buyer. The six cylinder will be great because most prospective buyers are going to run this thing with the gas light on
love how people are saying its not a TRX. You're right its not! The RHO compared to a Raptor is hands down a better truck!
Lol...how so?
Why hands down? Just because it has more power? It also weighs 600 lbs more.
Sound means a lot and this thing needs a better muffler to silence it or someone needs to hemi swap it
The sound of that engine made me want to throw up
It sounds good like a GTR
What is the point of hands free driving if you have to look at the road?!
..... to pay attention to the road? You're not supposed to read a book or fall asleep😂😂😂😂🤡
Why does everybody want to jump their enormous trucks all of a sudden?
Nobody does, but the image sure sells them.
Just like the off road trim Subarus, "off road" is a selling feature these days, not just off road, but special capabilities over the standard off road version, such as the outback wilderness edition, i see a ton of those, my brother even has one.
Hope they bring TRX back in a few years!

Our 2022 Highlander has the hands free driving too, just set the cruise control, lane assist, then stick a full water bottle in one of the lower spokes of the steering wheel.

Is straight 6 better than v6? These twin turbo trucks are fancy. Do you think they will last 300k+ miles like my 86 ranger with the 2.3 has and still runs fine?
Sure it's no TRX, but compare it to a Raptor and it shows how overpriced the Ford is. 10k more but with 100hp less.
The ford lets you check the oil and won’t fall apart by 25k miles.

The only problem with the RHO is that the TRX existed.
Odd Payload numbers! My level 2 TRX has 1310 or something like that and this with lighter motor is 1209? They said hard to do but I also bought my TRX 4% below invoice and I know several places took orders at around that same amount when they opened for the RHO.

I think Ram could’ve done better exhaust sound! As did Ford with the V6 Raptor.
I think there is a place for turbo online 6 engines even in the truck market but I also don't think it should replace the V8. My dad had an 08 ram for a long time and even though it was driven hard and didn't get oil changes as often as it probably should have it never had an issue.
