Looks like someone had been at that fan fairly recently with those shiny new fittings. See if you can refurb that old snail shell, your motor seemed fine so could just need cleaning up. Not sure on the price of 12v ones but the 24v ones we need for military spec series 3's cost a bomb!

You could change your door to Defender ones
Sadly I'd loose the removable door tops if going for the standard type.
