On our group tours of US tourists (we were the only Hindu couple) to Southeast Asian countries like Indonesia, Kampuchea, Thailand, a show on Ramayana in each country formed an integral part of the itinerary. Ram, Sita, Hanuman and all the cast were dressed and made up in the traditionally recognizable manner. The sets were just as we were used to see back home in India. It was a lovely experience appreciated and enjoyed by one and all. What the heck is wrong with the thinking of the Desi movie industry? What exactly are they trying to prove?
