Has anyone an idea if there are modern briefcases with those, idk, butterfly kinda fold out locks? I think they look neat, but I can’t seem to find how they are called or how exactly do they work, just eBay listings for vintage briefcases that feature those locking mechanisms.
Just the thumbnail took me back approximately 45 yrs when my Grandparents bought me a 3 piece set of luggage for either my birthday or Christmas. The pieces all locked with the same small key. Like this briefcase it was probably a wafer lock. Hadn't thought about that set of green Sears luggage in decades. Thank you for that memory.

Cheers. It was going to the tip and it was locked shut. In that situation we all think that we can take it and pick it. Lock Sporters are always on the scrounge for locks 🤣
Reminds me of the James Bond film To Russia with Love where his briefcase explodes when the bad guy tries to open it. Glad it didn’t go Bang😄👍🦊

Nice going Roy. Some people use a paper clip to pick a lock, you picked a lock to find a paper clip 😂. Nevertheless that was quick.
