Again a wealth of knowledge. As a vintage accessory collector I enjoyed the post war 1940 to 1950s. I know it's not your style but if you have a fellow collector to share their collection and knowledge I appreciate it. In my vintage hauls they are GREATLY undervalued if they aren't a precious metal or stone. To my advantage I get to enjoy many shapes colors and textures.

This is my second time watching this particular presentation and I’ve already found myself on a tear searching for cloisonne cufflinks.
When I find myself mewling over the amount of money I’ve spent on these I’ll blame YOU, Raphael!!!
Of course I also extend you my thanks. This is a very sober and sincere discussion regarding a dress item that has, sadly, fallen out of general favor and even awareness of most men today. Cufflinks were far more commonly used when I was a boy and I always enjoyed dressing with them for holidays or whenever my mother suggested I do.
I’d be very happy to see cufflinks assume their former eminence. Providing a reasonable excuse for me to go overboard in seeking them out!

Well... there is a way to deal with the aesthetic issues of the T-bar style cufflink, namely to use a barrel-style cuff closure. It might not be a super-orthodox solution, but I'm inclined to think, "Hey, can't argue with results :P"

I know this video is a few years old, but is there any chance you could let us know where you got that lovely cufflink storage box? The ones I've found don't have little compartments. Instead they have something like ring cushions -- little slots between two cushions. The problem is that the double-sided cufflinks (like my rose gold Fort Belvedere monkey's fist cufflinks) don't fit well in those slots. I'd love to find a nice one like the one in this video.

I’m not sure if I recall correctly of your opinion on a previous article: but what are your thoughts on snap cufflinks? There aren’t any in your collection, so are they negative?
For those uninitiated these are cufflinks with a ‘snapping button’ mechanism between the two symmetrical sides, allowing you to separate and button up your French cuff swiftly if you need to. I organise and run several balls and evening events as a student, most with Black Tie dress codes and one in White Tie. When doing physical work it’s very valuable to be able to undo my cuff without worrying about losing them or having to remove them altogether.
I imagine the disadvantages of them are that they typically are very subdued and simple in style. People complain that they split under exerted pressure but if you have a well fitted cuff I think this should be fine. Apparently the mechanism can loosen over time but I haven’t experienced this myself.

I came across the term half suite recently when buying a new set of cufflinks and shirt studs for black tie, and it occurred to me that full suite must surely indicate matching waistcoat studs too.
