- Welcome!
We are a homesteading, homeschooling family of 7. Due to recent events (job loss/career change, health issues, rising food costs, etc.) we are having a hard time making ends meet despite our best efforts at frugality. So we are tapping into our local food banks to help us feed our family. Come along as I show you what we are blessed with, what we add to it via grocery store and garden, and how I use it all to nourish our bodies.
Thanks for watching and God bless!

a well stocked pantry saves a lot of money as well as prevents emergency runs to the store. i applauder your organizational skills as well as your cooking skills.
With the craziness of life, I haven't been able to plan or shop well, but today I told myself it's time to get all that stuff done. Lol.
It’s hard to get a routine figured out when you work nights, it got a little easier when we went to 12 hr shifts because I only worked 3 nights a week.
I like having you on in the background while I’m working on other things. Your voice is comforting.
😍 What an incredibly kind comment. Thank you. I have a few channels I do the same with.
Great stock up,I love the variety of meals you prepare for your family. Ty for sharing today. God bless y'all 🎉🎉🎉🎉😊😊😊
Good morning! I always love your Aldi hauls. It's my primary store.
Just found your channel enjoyed the haul my husband also drives a semi he is out 2 weeks at a time many blessings to you and your family
Your weather sounds exactly like my weather here in Kentucky.
We are in the midwest so pretty close to you.
Great grocery haul!!!!❤❤❤❤. God bless you all!!!!❤❤❤❤
Aldi doesn’t do it as much but Walmart has clearance markdowns on items a lot. I get almost all my meat 1/2 price or less because I stock up when I see clearance prices. Got 4 sets of huge ribs for about $5 each, and whole pork tenderloin for $6. Discount salads, bread, veggies, etc. I walk the perimeter whenever I go in just so I can see if anything is on sale.
I do the same thing. I've noticed Sunday mornings our Kroger has quite a bit of meat marked down. I go in there after church, and usually find some good deals
I wish I could think that far ahead for meals . Most of the time I don’t have that lump sum to spend all at once .
I completely understand. We've had to do a few days shopping at a time many times in the past.
Great Haul, I love our Aldi and Lidl 🌷🌷
That’s great on the cookies. Great haul. Just tired a pretzel bread thing with cheese on it. Some lidls in the UK have instore bakeries and the pretzel bread was from that.
You really did great at the store: it’s definitely not easy to meal plan that far in advance but you do such a great job.
I really miss shopping at Aidi. The state that I live in now doesn't have an Aidi. Great food haul! Have a wonderful week. God bless you and your family.
Great video, great haul.⚘️⚘️
❤❤❤
I have never been able to do meal plans. As i change my mind 5 times during the day trying to figure out what im in the mood to cook and eat. Plus i have a huge pantry that is full. All the food that i have canned. And 2 full freezers. So i always have alot of choices i can make at any given time.
I rarely 100% stick to my menu plan. Lol
Your amazing at how you can budget with your food shopping and food bank! Love your meal plans❤️
I make meatloaf nase and put it in greased muffin tins to make personal ones. I can then add each persons favorite topping. They only take like 15 or so minutes. They also are easy to pack in lunches or make sandwiches with. Our favorite topping is brown sugar and ketchup. Other items are pickles and mustard or bacon and cheese
Base not nase
@@user-yy7on7zc3ijust a little tip, you can edit your comment if you make a spelling mistake by hitting the three dots next to your comment. I use it all the time. God bless 🙏🏼❤️
Thank you. I didn't know bow to do that.
Did you notice your Aldi reduced some of the prices through the store as they said they were going to help the consumer?
I went to mine over the weekend and I was pleasantly surprised to see reductions throughout the store beyond their normal weekly sale.
I didnt see any one item greatly reduced, but many items across the aisles made a difference in my total.
Every little bit counts these days.
We pay around 6.99 or more a pound for a whole chicken..
Wow! Where are you located?
Willow, my husband and I bought the grand kids McDonald's 2 weeks ago for $57, We will not be doing that again anytime soon!
Try using apps. We use the deals on them for treating our kids. For instance this week we got McDonald’s for them-bought a 20 pc nuggets and got two large fries for free so less than $9 to treat them. Our favorites are sonic, McDonald’s and Wendy’s.
Hi🌿, I guess $425 this time. Have a nice week, take care. Birgitta🏵💙💛just $7 wrong🥰
Hey, Birgitta!! how have you been? I haven’t seen a comment from you in a while.. thought maybe you had just gotten off of TH-cam.
Nice!
There's Save A Lot grocery stores here in Iowa
Been so long since i checked in on you so glad to see you hope you and your family are well 🌹
Hope you are doing good
I wish I could get everything at Aldi but my insurance gives me money on a card monthly but I can only use it at Walmart.
Walmart has decent prices.
Could you please share the hay stacker recipe? I'm a vegetarian and the brief description you gave sounded delicious. I'm only 4 1/2 minutes into your video so perhaps you already shared it I just didn't want to forget to request it. Thank you!
Haystacks:
In a bowl layer lightly crunched up tortilla chips, chopped lettuce, baked beans, and then whatever taco toppings you like: sour cream, guac/avacado, salsa, queso, shredded cheese, diced tomato, etc. Super simple but tasty!
Thank you for the reply! That does sound tasty and easy 😊
Cheese has became so expensive here in Australia it’s ridiculous,
Have you ever considered ordering a year’s worth of flour, sugars and any other baking supplies you use a lot of when you get your income tax refund each year? I started this when our kids were really young and money was so tight. I ordered a few other things too to last us a year and it made monthly shopping so much easier and if we didn’t have much money to shop with and the pantry we used didn’t give out as much I always had the ingredients for many things and we were okay. I order from Azure Standard and they have some options that aren’t organic so they are a little cheaper. I vacuum seal the flour after I put it in gallon ziplock bags(I put the ziplock bag inside a vacuum bag so it has a double layer for pests to penetrate).
We are still eating down our freezer’s and pantry for our move but we are now a family of 5 again.
I had created a pretty decent stockpile there for a while but we've worked it down. I do like the idea of using some of the tax check for that.
