  • In this video I will go over the things I like about the Dominator HP6 exhaust and some things that people may not like.
    -Idle, Rev, Acceleration and deceleration sound clips.
    -I also touch on the “heat” issue that many people seem to have with Tuaregs.

    Hi! i'm riding Tuareg for second season and its been great so far, i guess i was in the same boat as you in sense that i wanted to dig into adv riding but did not have much confidence off road and for me i tried light enduro (DRZ 400) and found it's way out of my comfort zone for on road and quite jumpy offroad so i did a lot of research and watched a lot of youtubers and really set my mind on KTM 790R or 890R and when i attended an adventure bike course my mentor drove 890R and i told him i am really thinking about buying one and he let me try to stand/sit on his bike but ultimately told me not to buy one as his had many issues despite being quite new and under warranty still, he told me he test drove the Tuareg and that he really suggest id buy that instead. Coincidentally one Tuareg was also in our group and i sat on it and saw the way it performed with a newb onboard(owner) and with a pro(our instructor) on it. And after that i set my research towards Tuareg and the more i researched about it the more i wanted it. A week later one guy was selling his because he hit a tree and damaged his spine so bad he wouldn't be able to ride for a long time. so i bought his with 5k kms on the clock and he also sold me all of his gear with a decent discount with the bike.

    Definitely would like to hear the side by side comparison with/without dB killer.

    Great video, I am also interested in the sound with the DB reducer. I’d like to be louder than stock but not crazy loud. Did you do anything to the fueling? Thank you!

    • @AstronautAdventureRiders
      @AstronautAdventureRiders  หลายเดือนก่อน

      There is supposedly a few DB difference with the reducer in so that may fit your bill. That video is on my list to do now. I have not done any tune yet, Dominator states that a tune is not necessary. It runs fine for me but I will be doing an Upmap tune at some point.
      Thanks for watching!

    I'm glad you didn't go the 3 like I did. It's just too loud even with the db killer inserted - You lose the intake roar which is a shame. With the DB killer in it is still very loud but the exhaust note becomes a little fluffy and not as nice. You can still ride the bike somewhat quietly with small throttle openings but that isn't much fun. In saying that the 3 is a lot of fun combined with the quickshifter. Acoustic theatrics between each gear on up and down shifts. I have a ducati 848 with the full termi race system (70mm) and the Tuareg with the HP3 baffle out is just as loud and nearly as nice to listen to. The issue is I don't ride the 848 anywhere near as much as I ride the Tuareg so I can live with it being excessively loud.
    I think the 6 or 7 is the best option. It still gives a deep note but allows you to insert the db Killer and get the noise to a reasonable level. I've ordered a 7 muffler for the full system. This will give me the choice as to whether the bike is a hooligan bike or a nice bike to tour on. If I had my time again I'd go the 6 and wouldn't have to buy two mufflers. On as side note my mate with a standard exhaust rode mine and said throttle response is definitely better and it feels a lot peppier to ride. The extra 8 hp will do that. Regarding Aprilia warranty - I spoke to 3 Aprilia warranty managers who said as long as the exhaust doesn't throw a code the warranty will not be affected. It has its first service with no codes. It revs as cleanly through the range as it did pre exhaust. I have installed the foam pre-filter to go with the foam main air filter to try and restrict air flow slightly in case it is running slightly lean. I'll get it on the dyno soon to check the AFRs

      That’s great info! I did consider the 3 but I could only find one video on here at the time that wasn’t from Dominator and in that video I wasn’t as big of a fan. I don’t think my video totally captured the sound so I will have to try and do some onboard videos at some point. Yeah there is definitely more power to the bike. Thanks for watching!

      @@AstronautAdventureRiders you're welcome. try taping an old phone near the exhaust on your rides and record the sound. Then edit the sound into your footage. From what I have read this is how all the big yootoobers do it. Thanks for sharing the video.

    Hello great video,can you tell us pls if you noticed any power difference through the revs ,low mid etc. Really interesting to know low and mid if its more torquey or nor,thx in advanced

    • @AstronautAdventureRiders
      @AstronautAdventureRiders  หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Thanks! It feels like a bit more torque in the lower rpms and a bit more hp in the mid and higher rpms. It also helps that this exhaust weighs considerably less than the oem exhaust system.

    Great video, just curious why you went with the HP6? I saw the dominator has an HP3, HP6 and HP7 showing on their website, but I am not sure I can tell the difference between the different options. Thank you.

    • @AstronautAdventureRiders
      @AstronautAdventureRiders  หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Sound/DB level are the main differences. Some style differences in the muffler itself. HP3 is loudest then HP6 then HP7.
      I liked the style of the HP6 more than the others, and I preferred the sound of the HP6 over the HP3.

    I don't notice heat from the cat either. That's because the heat is coming from the radiator.
