    Man I watched about 6 other reviews on this bag and you’re the first to show it in the stuff sack and how you can compress it… THANK YOU

    For those of us that has a metric system that's not insane 🙂 15 Fahrenheit = - 9,44 Celsius. 25 Fahrenheit = - 3,89 Celsius. 2lb,11oz = 1,2 kg. Thanks for a super review! I bought one for my son and one for me today, and we're looking forward to give it a try in the Norwegian forests next week!

    I love mine. The spoon shape not only is great for side sleeping and tossing and turning without feeling like you’re in a straight jacket, but I can bend my knees up while the wide bag supports them upright, which feels great on the back before falling asleep.

    Great video. I have a Nemo 15 and tried the sleep naked thing. I was on a group tour and the guide said to do that if you can’t get warm. It was in the mid 20s and after being unable to sleep for hours, I tried it and it worked. Definitely not my preference though, but will do it if needed

    Great video! Thanks! --I usually sleep in my base layer, shorts or Hot Chillis. I have had Marines say that they were told that sleeping naked would be warmer, but one thing: even if it were warmer, all kinds of oils, sweat, and other things come out of one's body. (Take a good look at some well-worn undies.) I feel like a base layer (or even a puffy jacket) not only adds warmth but also keep the bag cleaner--as long as no one is jumping into the sleep envelope with heavy work pants, chain wallets & pliers.

    • @PackAndSoul
      @PackAndSoul  ปีที่แล้ว

      That’s a great point!! The oils that come off our bodies would kill a bag and a sleeping pad for sure. Appreciate the comment and thanks for watching!

    I bought my Disco 15 at the REI Memorial Day Sale as well. Really good price! I had done a lot of research leading up to the purchase, and was kinda leaning toward a quilt. But when I saw this, it looked perfect for me (side sleeper). Used it once on an overnight trip, before the weather got really hot here in Arizona. But I am looking forward to using it a lot this fall.

    The Nemo definitely looks comfy. What sold me completely was just how easy it went back into the it’s bag. Also the sleeping bag you took on trail still looks really good.😊

    I am a new backpacker and have the Nemo Disco 15 as well. You just made it worth my time to watch your video with the pillow holder discovery! : )
    Question: I am 6'2" and bought the longer bag and pad, but as a side sleeper I'm not sure I need the extra lengths. I guess I will figure it out, but I would appreciate your thoughts. Thank you.

    • @PackAndSoul
      @PackAndSoul  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Wish I figured the pillow thing out sooner! Game changer. I’m curious to see what you find out regarding the length. Have you tried it out yet? I sleep on my side / stomach 100% of the time, so I honestly don’t even need the length of the regular sized one. A shorter one would be just fine for me. So you may be able to get away with the regular, even though you’re taller.. But please check back in with what you find out, I’d love to know! Happy trails!

    So, Im a bigger guy and radiate heat. Hot sleeper. Should I go with the 30°? I dont plan to camp in temps under 30° anytime soon. I have an insulated pad as well. (BA rapide sl)

    • @PackAndSoul
      @PackAndSoul  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It’s a great question. I typically opt for the warmer bag, but I also run a bit colder than most. I don’t ever want to get stuck out there in a cold front / rain / something unforeseen and unpleasant that’s gonna make me cold and not have a bag to warm me up. And if I’m ever too hot, I just sleep on top of it and it acts as an extra cushion. I totally get your consideration though, especially if you can save a few ounces by going with the 30. I suppose if you’re absolutely certain you won’t ever be in sub 40 degree temps out there, then a 30 will be fine. But also just think about the fact that this is expensive and will last you several years, so who knows what kind of adventure you’re gonna get yourself into down the road. Would stink to have to get a new one in a couple years when you wanna do a few weeks on trail in fall when it’ll get to 25 degrees at night. Keep me updated, I’m curious to know which one you go with!

    Just curious what the difference between male and female sleeping bags is? I'm about to get this sleeping bag but not sure if I should go with womens instead

    • @PackAndSoul
      @PackAndSoul  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It’s a great question, typically they say that the shape is a bit different. Wider hip area and narrower shoulder area for the female bags. But honestly, I’ve slept in my wife’s bag and she’s slept in mine, and I can’t tell the difference. Just be aware in dealing with the length is all.

    Hey Nick my Disco completely failed after maybe 30 nights zipper crapped out and so did the stitching. Im an older lifelong outdoorsman and im careful with my gear i encourage anyone to Not! Buy this bag. Unless your only using it a couple of times a year , otherwise you have been warned. I hate returning equipment as the rei clerksv are trained to make you feel bad which really pisses me off

    • @PackAndSoul
      @PackAndSoul  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Oh no that sucks! Maybe it was a malfunction with that particular bag? Mine lasted so long, an AT thru-hike and then some. Still works well. Appreciate your comment though, important to have lots of perspectives on here. Hope you can find something that works better for you!

    Cool bag ive the womans version coz im a woman 🤔 The naked thing... No thanks, i go out alone and that bag would be stuck to me like Velcro and id need someone to help peel it off and seriously no one needs to be dealing with peeling a sleeping bag off me first thing in the morning, not to mention the number of times i dart out the tent coz i think ive heard something... no, ill stick to wearing clothes 😂
