The guitar sound is crap in the Resurrectionfest recording - no fault of Roman's, I'm sure - but Tati is *such* a beast in that performance that it's well worth hearing / seeing. I get shivers up my spine during the outro cleans. The bends, the slides, the taps, the mutes, the rhythms - Roman's guitar parts are so intricate, yet so under-appreciated. It's really great that you included his playthrough in this reaction.
Yeah it's just the Resurrectionfest recording, though it understandably gets recommended cause Tati kills it. dude, i am SO GLAD you jumped on the roman's playthroughs for songs, i've been asking for so long and you are literally the only reaction channel that does it for jinjer's songs... this one is one of my favorites (for guitar playthrough i mean)... some other stands outs were i speak astronomy, words of wisdom (maybe my favoite PT), a plus or a minus, and surprisingly an early one - outlander, sit stay roll over

He composed about 95% of the music up untill Wallflower which was mostly Vlad! They don't have a guitar playthrough for it , BUT, they do have Vlad's drum play throuh-. This song was originally on King of Everything which was also the album Pisces was on. The drummer on that album was Dimitry Kim (the same drummer on Sit Stay Roll Over). I think in this recording there was a little more audience mic mixed in with the direct sounds of the instruments which made it less clear than something like Perennial at Wackien which was nearly all just the mics from the instruments. It might have also been more reverberant on that stage. The band just added this song to their set list after not playing it for a while., It's really my favorite from them and I can't wait to see it live next month. Fun fact about that live show. When Tati does the lyric "time to go back to a soil crib" the second time and passes behind Eugene she takes a fall. It doesn't show it on that video but a fan in the crowd was also taking video. It happens to them all of course. You can stand there like a potato and sing or you can put on a show like Tati does. If you chose to put on a show you ARE going to trip on something, or run into something at some point.
Apparently,at least at that time, I read somewhere that the audio recording and acoustic setup at Resurrection was not top quality at all as compared to, say, Wacken for example. Not only regarding them, the whole festival. Probably a good part of your annoyance for that. Just saying. Great review though.🤘
17:48 - That's why I'm glad they didn't continue in the path of the King of Everything's overproduced songs (I suspect that Kim had something to do with it...) and that's why I like all the live versions of songs from that album better than the studio recordings (it may also have something to do with the "Vlad effect" on the band's sound...). I'm also glad that they went in a more raw, more humanised and simpler direction after Vlad became involved in the composition, with songs that needed to sound in the records as they would sound live. Btw, their full concert video is still to this day the full concert video with more views on Ressurection Fest's YT channel. 🙂
