Nice reaction! The bass and drums were there to set the tone, but they didn't stand out, because the ones who should stand out in this song are the two guests with their guitars.

Excellent double reaction, thanks that was fun. BABYMETAL's collaborations and songs with featured artists or where they are the featured artist all work so well as they are so versatile they can do pretty much whatever style and match up with whoever they are collaborating with. As you know Tim Henson and Scott LePage recorded the guitar tracks for the original recording of the song. They had a rough demo to work with that BABYMETAL sent to them with synthesised vocals and a place-holder guitar track that they replaced with their own. They had no idea what the song would sound like until they heard the album - and they've said it sounds like a Polyphia track with vocals and they really hoped they would get to play it live with BABYMETAL one day. Fox_Fest in Tokyo in May (arranged, hosted and headlined by BABYMETAL) was the first chance they all had to meet up and to finally do this very first live performance with them all together.🎸🦊🎸

💕 ⚡ 🍑 / 🌅 Asu ga mata kuru kara. (Tomorrow will come, after all) - The song was written by two of BABYMETAL's frequent songwriters. The music and arrangement are by MEGMETAL (Wada Megumi). Lyrics are by MK-METAL (Miki Watanabe). The rough mix was sent to the guys at Polyphia, and Tim Henson added guitar tracks. The next time he heard the song was on the completed Metal Galaxy album. : ) After hearing the finished version, he was determined to perform it live with BABYMETAL, and that wish came true five years later at BABYMETAL's FOX_FEST. Scott and Tim mentioned in a recent interview that they had even more fun on this song than during their own set at that festival. It was also the first time they have performed live with a vocalist. I'm looking forward to their future collaborations. There's at least one more coming on a future Polyphia album.

You will be getting more.🤩 A Polyphia song with Babymetal as guests; is happening as soon as Polyphia release their next album. As chrisharris said, this isn't the same type of colab like Ratatata, it is written and arranged by Megmetal, with guitar work by Polyphia. It was written in Polyphia's style emphasized by Polyphia themselves but is also Megmetal's sound. A song called 'Stone Cold' he recently wrote for Ayaka Ohashi has a similar vibe. Saying that, it was inspired and influenced by, and contains the guitar work of Tim and Scott, so i think it's ok for people to think of this as a 50/50 colab. It wouldn't make much sense without them on it.

This song was always a Babymetal song with Tim guest writing and recording the guitars so that is why they don't show off as they would if it were a true colab. It was awesome they finally got the chance to perform it together

What I particularly like about the live version is the bridge part after the solo (with the repeated "Brand New Day" backing vocals). It grooves so much more than the album version. I'm not sure whether it's just because of the guitars being more prominent, but I like it a lot.

To be fair, the western (or current) Kami Band is just amazing. I like them a lot (same as the eastern set)... especially Anthony Barone on drums. I know we are picky and tend to be a bit nostalgic from time to time, that's human. We have an extremely competent band and we need to be thankful for that.

Nice one. Just picking up on a couple of things. By "astronomical observation" Yunametal meant that Mikio Fujioka was star gazing - he fell from a high observation platform and tragically died 5 days later. This was not BABYMETAL lore, it was a real life tragedy. Quick correction on Leda Cygnus's involvement in studio recordings - yes he did the guitar arrangements for 'No Rain, No Rainbow', but he also recorded guitar and bass in a small handful of other BABYMETAL songs (we know he did so for 'Arkadia'), not just this one. Also a correction on the dates the commenter quoted - not 2013 to 2019 - the Kami Band of the East were still supporting BABYMETAL in all their Japanese concerts until their last appearance to date in January 2023. Finally We don't know who plays the instruments in the studio recordings, but it is highly unlikely it is the Kami Band (East or West) - as above, Leda Cygnus is the only Kami Band member known to have participated in any of the studio recordings. Regardless of whether it is the Kamis of the East or West, not being involved in the writing or recording of the songs they have to work out how to play the songs so they can perform them live. East and West do have different playing styles and some people may prefer one to the other, but that is subjective. I would argue each is as "gelled" as the other, all of them have been working together and supporting BABYMETAL for several years (East 2013 - 2023, West 2019 to present).

Super irritated that TH-cam decided to take down my comment about you making some artwork based on my comments about the girls and kami band wearing armor when I heard Metal Kingdom. Was curious how that was going. I decided to make 3D resin statues of the girls in samurai armor. Got the 3 original ladies done. Just need to make one with Momo. 🤘🦊🤘

I think that the biggest difference between the Eastern and Western Kamis is that the Eastern Kamis are trained in and excel at Jazz. They know how to make room. The Western Kamis are exceptionally talented, but it sometimes feels like they have only one intensity setting. But that's just imo. 🤷‍♀

Electric Callboy is as old as Babymetal, they just replaced their clean singer. This is more or less Babymetal ordered from Electric Callboy an Electric Callboy Songs in the tradition of We Got the Moves and enriched it with their Elements. Their is nearly no Element any more in this song that was constructed by Electric Callboy or Babymetal. As an example when Babymetal wanted to add a bit of growling by Momoko this imediatly became a huge issue for Kevin. And in the end Kevin and Momoko made these Elements together and he gave them Tips how to improve her growls and how to better use her in synch with Su.

These sort of transitions are also EC's hallmark, so if you are into that you should check out some more. Hypa Hypa was probably their first that went sort of viral, with We Got The Moves or Pump It also good intros to the band.
