This version of the song was dedicated to Yui-Metal...This was Suzaka and Moa saying "Farewell" to Yui. Knowing that, but this breaks my heart. They are saying goodbye to a sister Sakura Gakuin, a sister Fox Goddess. If you explore their Lore, you know how much this song means in Honor.

It's like the perfect Mastadon/Neurosis salad.

They are the amazing duo. Joey Batey is a wonderful songwriter and a great singer but his partner has one of the most beautiful voices I have ever heard. If anyone sang like that to me, I'd fall head over heels in love that instant.

its simple. Miku and Kanami are the maid that will serve you. Saiki is the hostess at the front door. Akane is in the kitchen with the food and Misa is the bartender/bouncer. this is up there with comparing "puzzle" live official and live acoustic

I watched the debut of the Christmas concert. What a treat. CATHARSIS and SAYONAKIDORI are the two songs that were most successfully transformed into something altogether different. They stand up on their own as wonderful performances, even without reference to the original versions.

Giovanni gives me a unsetting vibes.... in a good way. like paying $ to walk through a hunted house to get a jump scared. The instrumental sounds like a whole other song just like the YOLO instrumental. I have easily listen to this song over a 1000 times by now (once going to work once coming home since its release) and I can not not hear Saiki singing in my head. HAHAHA! 14:20 right! she is cool as a cucumber with slight smile knowing she assembled one of the greatest rock bands in the world.

BAND-MIAD as a proof of the existence of God... Hmmm... Glad you said this. Because I was always saying the same thing. Moreover, they not only prove the existence of God, they also demonstrate the meaning and purpose of life. I remember I had a 'satori' moment somewhere back in 2020, while watching the Line Cube Shibuya Blu-Ray. Somewhere after 20 minutes or so I realised what is meaning of life: it is TO CREATE BEAUTY! That's what BAND-MAID is doing, and that's what each living thing in this universe must do. And then recently Saiki wrote the same in her lyrics for Forbidden Tale, complaining about copyright maniacs and other people who try to silence the artists for various ideological reasons: *Erasing the names of us, who passionately and tirelessly pursued beauty.* *How can you feel any joy in doing that? Can their story ever find peace?* -- *passionately and tirelessly pursued beauty* -- That's what all great artists are doing. And BAND-MAID holds the torch high!

Band-Maid is the answer.

I've long believed that all three versions of this incredible song are necessary to fully appreciate it. So top marks for taking that approach.

It's Akane who uses staff paper to write out her drum parts, as she doesn't know how to "Read" music for drums, she uses drum notation on staff paper. Thee are a few videos floating around of her rewriting her drum parts, when Saiki decided to add a song to their setlist while touring. So Akane would listen to the song and write out her part. I remember seeing 3 different Instagram Videos of her doing that. Evidently YT deleted the comment I posted on that video. It was probably because I posted a link to Vladimir Chupin's channel.

This song is stratosphere level prog awesomeness and I cannot legit understand how anyone cannot just bask in their musical orgasmic phenomenality. New word. Just accept it.

Vlad Chupin is famous. Followed band-Maid for years and filmed many shows and had? a huge archive of merch etc. I just saw a Saiki focus video for Giovanni Official Live Video- It was just magical to see her dealing with the complicated vocal line- so cool and Casual.

Democracy works well when it is done properly. Band Maid clearly have somebody (Kanami) that has a selection and collection of music on her computer and in her vast brain. Then the arrangement and suggestions go to the experts in their instruments who offer suggestions and insights. The lyrics are provided by Miku or Saiki on occasion. What we have is a perfect democracy. Yes a musical leader but the experts in their field provide a solid platform and back up. Saiki then just improves everything with emotion and charisma that has been built on over the years. Which makes each song a unique experience. No huge egos just a promise to make every effort to make each song as perfect as it can be. Then the live versions just have a charisma that are and continue to be almost hypnotic. You see if only the World Leaders were a band of Japanese Women called Band Maid.

Eureka! You just explained everything for me. Akane is a robot, a machine, not human. Finally it makes sense… or does it? This whole band has me in Shambles. The Saiki portion is mesmerizing. Seeing her live was breathtaking. As was Misa. As was Kanami. And then there’s Miku, bringer of the Gap. Thanks for this great presentation of my favorite band. I really enjoy your reactions Jon. In the live version, considering that she knows what's coming, Saiki looks so incredibly relaxed and casual pulling a few shapes. This is totally masterful and shows her total professionalism. Like an actor getting into character. Just genius. Re. the chaos- I'm convinced that Kanami hears the whole thing in her head, so knows where she intends the arrangement to go- no probs. During the dissonant vocal section Akane is controlling the whole thing in particular Misa.

Scientists have changed the atomic clock to match the double kicks of Akane for better precision than the atom - and yes I think she may be a robot too.

Two completely different songs that just happen to be the same song, lol! I think of Miku's jaw dropping when Kanami handed her this and said, "Put lyrics to this, okay."

Akane broke your ability to speak

BANDMAID is in no way shape or form just another rock band. BANDMAID is the greatest proper rock and roll band of the 21st century IMHO. It's a crazy statement. Was Mozart the world's greatest composer of his era? He'll yeah! The farther we get away from that time the more clearly we see the immensity of his talent. Few would argue with the above assessment. Everytime I write "IMHO" after BandMaid is the greatest proper rock and roll band of the 21st century I feel like a liar. IMHO my ass! IMHO water is wet. BandMaid rules right now. 66 years old here. The future will prove us right.

Another example of Band Maid being a miracle. Yes, Kanami comes up with this wonderful, complex music. But her band mates have the technical and musical chops to execute and make real that music.

How to write a BAND-MAID song, first start with a master piece instrumental highlighting each instrument then add vocals over the top that match perfectly. Easy.....for BAND-MAID.

Brilliant song and great reaction / review

One of my favorite things about Band Maid's live mixes is the panning of the guitars. Kanami usually on the right and Miku to the left. It helps me hear what both of them are doing which is really cool.

I was very happy to get the instrumental as there is so much happening under the vocals that that was the only way I could hear it. Even then the complexity is mind blowing. That they can do this, and Black Hole, live is a tribute to the skill of these ladies.

Did anyone else have issues with the video pausing or stuttering? I had to reload the page over 5 times.
