I was there....it was the third and last time I saw Prince. A true genius and performer. He loved his fans and loved performing live. The night was incredible and the audience were in the palm of his hands. You could see the audience dancing in this video and it was like that all night. Every single person was transfixed by Prince and the band. Whilst it’s sad he died, it’s better to have known and loved and lost than to have never had. Thanks for the music Prince.

I went to see him three nights in a row for £66!!! which for me as a student was a lot of money at the time but i had loved him since childhood and I cried with happiness the whole way through all the performances, uplifting, transcendental, epic and sadly, a once in a lifetime experience for me! Money is for experiences not things!!
He gave us our $ worth and 100% more. Every dollar I spent was always peanuts. I loved the Public Enemy reference he used in Controversy. Thanks for sharing.
I desperately wanted to go back the next night... I wish I had 💜 I've never before or since witnessed an entire arena crowd dancing on its feet - particularly exceptional given this was stiff old Britain... absolutely amazing 💜✨️

I remember watching this live on Sky News like it were yesterday and Prince tore the roof off the sucka in just 6 minutes 😆😍😎and kicked myself every day for not calling in sick. It was the absolute busiest time at work there was no way anyone would've got time off. If my boys weren't so young I would have sacrificed my job to see him live in the flesh. Wonderful memories 🎶💜

It must have been amazing because I was checking out when I could see him next...never done that with anyone else. It makes me sad that I won't be able to see this tremendous talent live again. We have his wonderful musical legacy yes, but he was a being best appreciated live.

And he kept up that pace for HOURS. By the time u leave a Prince concert you’re sufficiently funked and high as a kite! (On music and love) Then u sleep all the next day. Exhausted.
I was lucky enough to be there that night, his final evening of 21 amazing shows that summer in 2007... Sky News announced ahead of time that they would show a small part of the beginning of the gig and my family were all tuned in around the country to see it. I came out of the gig high on the funk, couldn't get in to the final aftershow (where Amy Winehouse was strongly rumoured to be appearing as he had played her Love Is A Losing Game virtually every gig!) and drove 10 minutes home from the O2... Straight to my Sky+ box to watch this recording back. I kept that recording for about 5 years until the box died! One of the comments says that this is the perfect document of what a Prince gig was like and I have to agree. He played better play lists for hardcore fans over the years but if I had the chance to go see him just one final time, it's a show like this that I'd choose. Or maybe a Montreux 09 type performance... Nope, this one!
I went earlier in August to see the show, it was amazing, on the 21st September I was lucky enough to get tickets to the aftershow, was insane, 3 hours+ long, Amy Winehouse did play the first song with him. Amazing that he had such energy to do the main show, then a couple of later come back and do something just as long and all different. £31.21 for a ticket too! just so so good.

Prince was so savvy to agree a 10 min coverage on Sky on the FIRST night of a 21 night run to move the last few tickets - he was brilliant at " Mini Concerts" for TV to intensely promo/showcase in 10 mins the key elements he knew would attract people . Job done.
Prince should have stuck with Rosie Gaines, this lady had an incredible voice, far better than any other female singer he used. Still, Prince is splendid as always! Thanks for sharing
oh I see! thats a real shame as she was fabulous. I know she has been in bad health with issues from diabetes. I did actually read that she stopped working with Prince because of money issues, but take alot of what is written with a pinch of salt.
Skygazer, You are right. can't go by everything you read or hear in the media. In a recent interview she talks about how deeply she was affected by Prince death. Also, I heard she wasn't feeling well enough to attend the big tribute for Prince last year. instead her daughter represented her.
at my prom 2 years ago i was jumping up and down to rap trap pop garbage within my "friend group," but it was more of a peer pressure thing because everyone was doing it. i didn't enjoy a single second of it and couldn't wait for it to end. it's tragic that i can't go to a Prince concert and jump with these people to this music. it's insane the command over the crowd he had. the talent of ALL his musicians, the backup dancers, the lighting and unforgettably, Prince himself. there's no one remotely like what Prince was.
I went on the first night plus after show the best concert I have ever been to seen Prince before and after that run of shows our memories will stay with us for ever
Am a big Prince fan but I was at one of the 21 nights shows and it wasn't a big enough spectacle for the O2. Back in 2007 you didn't have the huge video screen you have now so if you had (terrible!) seats like we did, it was hard to see exactly what was going on. I'm sure if you had better seats it would have been great but we came away disappointed. Even Prince couldn't get the party going at the back.
