addictive....i watched this dozens of times, it's captivating....seen this genius (God bless his soul) twice in 1980's and 90's he makes Live be LIVE.....his Art is really missed....When a Dove flies ...!
Every performance you can watch, you can see Prince put his ALL into every single minute on every stage he ever set foot on. He was a musical entertainment genius in so many ways but the way he'd put a group of musicians together and direct them until he had transformed them into an unmistakable powerhouse of musical greatness....that may have been his greatest talent. After hitting it big in 1984-85, his bands and backup singers/dancers changed many times over the decades but he knew how to spot excellent talent and obviously could pick the ones with high ambition and drive, and then he had the stamina, the will to rehearse and rehearse to refine each one's performance. I bet every one that ever worked with Prince in a band would say that he made them get even better at their craft, that he pushed them to get to a level even they themselves did not believe they had in them. He was not the King, he was the King of the musical Kings in my view. He exemplified what belief in yourself (and in others to the point that you inspire them to grow in their own talents) along with seriously hard, hard work achieves. His death seems as if it was the ending of a soppy old movie written about a music star because his song said "Are we gonna let the elevator take us down?" (or "we're not gonna..") and he died in an elevator , alone. Life is crazier than art.
@@jayclarke5466 Matteo is fantastic, so is Marcin and Lucas Imbirba. But are they on your playlist? (serious question, not trolling) They're not on mine. Prince is.

We were getting the pitch ready during one of his sound checks & he played a Kansas City Here I Come jam of about 20 minutes just for us. This clip & his While My Guitar Gently Weeps solo shows the beauty of this amazing artist & Jeez, still miss him
It simply wasn't fair for any other musician or performing artist to be compared to such a rare and immense talent, every time Prince performed he reinforced his legacy as the greatest performer, musician, and songwriter, & producer of music the world has ever seen. Literally nobody could play 30+ instruments, sing every vocal part including backups, write the music for all of the instruments, create the arrangements, and record each song performing all parts on his own with the help of a single engineer (Peggy McCreary) or audio tech (Susan Rogers) with the vast majority of songs being completed from start to finish in less than 24hrs with very few exceptions such as "When Doves Cry" which was recorded over 3 consecutive days & "Purple Rain" which was recorded live during the production of the movie Purple Rain with several overdubs added in studio. Beyond the music that Prince recorded and released under his own name he also created the groups "Vanity" and "The Time" among others that were essentially his alter-ego's, one feminine & one masculine, that also served as his musical competition and gave the illusion of a diverse emerging Minneapolis music scene in the process despite Prince writing the songs, performing all instruments in the recording studio & recording a guide vocal for the lead singer to closely follow.
Wow, truly no one puts on a live performance quite like this man. I couldn't believe that was Sheila E beside him. That was a killer mini-set. I'd give anything to see him perform again. Rest in Power Prince.
I remember watching this live and a lot of bands Uk at the time had guitarists and this legend just popped up to show them how ordinary they all were . Amazing
I couldn't believe my eyes then I saw Wendy swerve up next to Prince with the guitar styles and I knew it was on again and that looked like Shellia E on Drums with styles toop plus cute Lisa lady on piano
I got to see this legend perform live when I was 13yrs old, it was in Oakland, Calif, and it was in support of his Under The Cherry Moon album....it was more than epic....and look at Sheila E killin it on them drums in this vid!! Damn she's fine as hell, ain't she?!!
Prince was a fine wine. Every live performance was extra-maturing. What a fine craft he was! He was beyond what is normal. He would touch where soul & spirit separates. His music connects you with the Universe, something out of this world.

OMG how I miss this man, such a shame he is no longer with us. Saw him live once, best God damn concert I have ever been. Amazing artist guitar player dancer. RIP Prince
The phenomenal one and only Prince, musician, writer, singer performer, dancer, producer, showman and multi instrumentalist.
Also a world-class sound engineer, talent scout and actor.
jesus christ no one delivers a performance like that. i literally cried watching this. seeing my three favorite members of his former bands with him again: wendy, lisa, and sheila. if i had been there, i would have died happily! saw him twice in my life, once at 15 and then again in 2004 FROM THE SECOND ROW on the Musicology tour. still have the stub!
Jesus Christ saved me. Wretch that I am. If I never hear another song, Him being in my life if infinitely more valuable.
Music ran thru his veins. Prince doing what he was born to do! Mission accomplished Prince! Rest in Eternal Peace!
AMENNN 💜🙏🏻💜🙏🏻💜
In a better way. He gave every once of himself. He follow the master plan better than he could do it
His music is rejuvenating. I actually feel energized after watching his set!
Purple Rain has to be one of the greatest songs of all time. I'm sitting watching this with tears running down my face. From the very first, to the very last note, it draws you in and there's no escaping!! It touches you right where it counts! RIP to this musical genius....there'll never be another like him.
One of my favorite tv award show performances! With Sheila E, Lisa & Wendy too
One of the greatest musicians to ever grace the earth, period.
What a great musician. I deeply regret not seeing Prince and watching him perform. Would have been great
This dude wasn't human. He was a God sent down to earth to school us mere mortals on this thing called life! Sadly, he had to return from whence he came!
I’m absolutely certain that purple rain is the greatest song ever made.
How can you still be sitting for a performance like that!!! Unless they're dummies? What an ARTIST!! No one even comes close!
Michael jackson is better
addictive....i watched this dozens of times, it's captivating....seen this genius (God bless his soul) twice in 1980's and 90's he makes Live be LIVE.....his Art is really missed....When a Dove flies ...!
one of the greatest rock star to have ever lived
My thoughts exactly!!!
When a song, solo and performance gets you choked up, you know it’s legendary
Prince, the last guitar hero
Nah…plenty new ones…check Matteo Mancuso…whoa!
@@jayclarke5466 Matteo is fantastic, so is Marcin and Lucas Imbirba. But are they on your playlist? (serious question, not trolling) They're not on mine. Prince is.
Whoa you're being quite generous with that statement brother...
Quel ariste ❤❤❤
I worked with security for Prince in his 3 days in Rotterdam on his Love Sexy tour. Each night was different & brilliant. We were getting the pitch ready during one of his sound checks & he played a Kansas City Here I Come jam of about 20 minutes just for us. This clip & his While My Guitar Gently Weeps solo shows the beauty of this amazing artist & Jeez, still miss him
There is not ONE crap video of Prince playing live - Such a legend. Love.
There was something beyond extraordinary about him that’s for sure.

Sheila E , Wendy and Lisa as well! All legends
Prince is the best song writer ever come across my favourite song my name is prince and when is dove cry. Rest in peace
One of the most underrated guitar players in the history of music
Possibly because he was incredible on every other instrument also.
Not one single artist in the world has ever got near prince. RIP brother 🙏🏼
just too gorgeous to look at without getting teary!!! adored/adore him!
This performance was absolutely immense - lives in my head rent free😄👍
I remember watching this live and a lot of bands Uk at the time had guitarists and this legend just popped up to show them how ordinary they all were . Amazing
It was so great to have Wendy & Lisa back w/Prince. Despite the 20yrs apart, Wendy & Lisa's relationship withstood the test of time. :)
I couldn't believe my eyes then I saw Wendy swerve up next to Prince with the guitar styles and I knew it was on again and that looked like Shellia E on Drums with styles toop plus cute Lisa lady on piano
YESSS...SO GREAT SEEING THEM TOGETHER AGAIN...MY GOSH SHELLA TARING THEM DRUMS UP😛🥰🤩
Holy sausages what an incredible guitarist that man was .
Underrated in my humble opinion.
RIP electric man.
A one off genius.
Love thy will be done x
That was an incredible concert, I wish I could have seen him. He really blessed the Brits with this one.
The earth has shifted without u Prince
Prince wasn't just a musician, he was an ARTIST, just an amazing performance every time.
I got to see this legend perform live when I was 13yrs old, it was in Oakland, Calif, and it was in support of his Under The Cherry Moon album....it was more than epic....and look at Sheila E killin it on them drums in this vid!! Damn she's fine as hell, ain't she?!!
What an amazingly multi-talented performer. Soulful voice, guitar virtuoso, gifted song writer and the man could dance. He had it all. Bless his soul.
On stage with Prince, you better bring your best, every second.
So full of life he was, then gone 10 years later. Senseless, tragic loss...
Some people just have it and all you can do is stand back and admire it. Incredible musician.
This performance is so friggen good, I can't stop watching it! Just makes me so happy. Totally professional. Thank you Prince 🎼🎶
One of my most unforgettable moments to see him perform live great and worth every second to see and hear prince live.
man he nails it every time he picks up the mic or guitar. how’s it even possible?
Need been doing it since the seventies, but I bet his recovery after a site like this is insane.
Cuz it's fucking PRINCE!
Talent + talent + talent + magic.
Prince was a fine wine. Every live performance was extra-maturing. What a fine craft he was! He was beyond what is normal. He would touch where soul & spirit separates. His music connects you with the Universe, something out of this world.
No. It will never be better than this. That first song was beautiful.
God, it´s great to see Prince with Wendy and Lisa! Thank you Prince!
The greatest entertainer that has ever lived!
Agreed❤️ A True Natural
I dont know how many times Ive watched this - I was lucky enough to have seen him twice in the UK. Absolutely stunning performance in 12 minutes.Total showman of incredible talent . Theres not many famous people Im in awe of but the world became a lesser place when Prince left us . If you haven't seen it watch his solo at George Harrisons induction in the R&R hall of fame - just mind-blowing .
J'écoute et re. ..... tjrs le manque. Du PRINCE❤❤❤❤❤
Simply one of the best songwriters and stage performers ever and guitarists who had soul I don't think we will ever have someone with this much ability cross our path anytime soon. This man was unique
