      Thank you Cheryl- and I appreciate your comment... The JTV Series - I created over a decade ago- was created for the Retail Florist... it was not necessarily for the consumer... but we felt there was good information in many of the videos- LIKE the care and handling tips in this Particular Video.. however the video was sponsored by Esprit Miami- and again created for the Professional Florist... Fun with Flowers- is a combination- for different groups... including the Documentaries we created about the flower farms... again- GOOD INFORMATION- but sometimes they do not sell to the consumer... thus we created At Home with Flowers- which is exclusively directed to the Consumer...
      So... JTV- professional Florist or Wedding and event Planner... Fun with Flowers- Both Professional and Hobbyist... and AT Home with Flowers- for the Consumer... I can't change the way the videos were created many many years ago- and hope you understand they remain popular- because the tips and tricks... and not posted for sourcing...
      Thanks again... I appreciate the kind comment- and your ability to understand!

      You can purchase this product at this link- www.uBloom.com/BuyChrysal - it's not available on Amazon- as it's a professional solution- and NO- you can not make it at home... I ALWAYS go on record - using home made flower food or following old wives tales- like 7-up or Aspirin in the water are BAD ADVICE... the Chrysal Products are the BEST- and you can always depend on them... I hope this helpful- You can also purchase from Local Wholesale Floral Distributors or your Professional Local Florist too!!! Just a thought... Thanks for the question!

    Please tell us again where to find those bridal bouquet holders
    and what brand of flora glue are u using. the top glues close and is a hassle to open. thanks for all u give. I love flowers too.

    • @LifeinBloom
      @LifeinBloom  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Gala® Bouquet holder can be purchased at www.uBloom.com/BuyGala or on Amazon.com...
      The Glue I used in this show is FloraLock... it comes in a spray can... when you are done using it... LEAVE The excess glue on the end of the red tube -that fits into the nozzle... be sure to shake it for 1-3 minutes before using... and for the second use... cut off just about 1/4 inch of the red nozzle and it will clear the end... and you'll be able to use it again... that is the confusion that most people have... they try to clean the tube... or pull off the red tube... or do lots of things... just leave it alone... and when you go to use the next time... shake for 1/3 minutes- trim off the end and VOILA it will work perfectly!

    • @LifeinBloom
      @LifeinBloom  10 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      My Best advice is to be "in love with Flowers"... the passion you have for the flowers will help you continue to "turn people's feelings into flowers"... that what any good florist does... it's important to always make Beautiful Arrangements... I've always been an advocate of an arrangement being "BEAUTIFUL"...

    What’s the name of the spray to make flowers last and look beautiful for a while?

    • @LifeinBloom
      @LifeinBloom  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      It is called Chrysal Professional Glory- and you can purchase it here...
      www.uBloom.com/BuyChrysal
      It's an anti-transpirant- that seals the flower so it won't evaporate water as quickly- it can make the flowers last about 25% longer...

    Help, I am trying to create a glued corsage with a blue hydrangea and white roses. The florist told me they would not even try to use a hydrangea in a corsage and suggested I use a faux hydrangea. Do you have any suggestions?

    • @LifeinBloom
      @LifeinBloom  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      You got REALLY Good Advice from the Florist... Hydrangea do not have enough staying power to hold in a corsage... You can sometimes get away with it - with Antique Hydrangea in the late fall... and the suggestion to use Permanent (FAUX) Hydrangea is a really good one... that's EXACTLY what I would do...
      Believe your Florist Friend... they were Totally RIGHT!

    I love your videos J, I really do. They are the only floral tutorials I watch! I understand that product placement is important and its important to highlight your suppliers and the like in your videos... but unfortunately I didn't find any balance of that in this video in comparison with what you usually do... teach us! Was this an advertisement or a tutorial? Esprit! We get it! I almost stopped watching the video at about 10 minutes in thinking that this is all of what I was getting.... an advertisement without any design techniques and awesome education from you. Luckily I kept watching until the point where you started designing... but was so banged over the head with the incessant Esprit selling I was pretty turned off. Like I said... I get it.... promotion is key.... and Crystal and Artesia have received my business because of your videos. I am suggesting some more balance for your viewers who aren't wholesale buyers or big florist shop owners. I LOVE your videos and think you are a fantastic teacher... I'll keep watching for it! Thanks :)

    • @LifeinBloom
      @LifeinBloom  8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Thank you for the Kind comments Breanne...I appreciate the compliments
      very much... now Please allow me to respond and hopefully explain the
      process...
      1. When we started JTV in 2005... *this video is part of that series- and it's over 10 years old...
      That was the way we were able to create the videos... we we (and still are) completely dependent on the generosity of our underwriters to create the videos you see... they are not inexpensive to produce...
      2. Back then... * over 10 years ago... it was all about promotion... and that was how the underwriters identified their ROI (Return on Investment)... was by hearing promotion about their product...
      3. You stated you started using Artesia and Chrysal... because of the videos... so in some manner that process works... and I completely understand that you felt this was "OTT" (over the top)
      4. JTV was actually created for the professional florist... not necessarily for the flower hobbyist or amateur... however we found that when we put these videos up on TH-cam... EVERYONE Benefited from MORE information... however it was (and perhaps still is) necessary to REALLY Drive home the point... to make an impression... I will apologize again if you felt it was too much!
      5. Remember advertising exists here on youtube as well... in a perfect world... the video would be augmented with the promotions you see here on TH-cam at the beginning, or in the middle... while a bit more mainstream they are still an interruption of the education process... it's just interesting to note that those forms of advertising have become more "accepted"... hehehe
      6. Today... We produce Fun with Flowers and J... (*JTV concluded in August of 2011 - about 5 years ago... when we realized that viewers finally we grasping the concept of underwriters... and we launched a NEW Show with a NEW Look, New Process and New Terms... it does not have the same focus on promotion... and it has become very popular... there are few examples of FUN with FLOWERS here on our TH-cam Channel... but the balance resides at uBloom.com where we offer VERY Affordable $3.99 a month subscriptions... that allow you watch any show- any time and also provides a great deal more information and "helps"... us defer costs of broadcasting...
      7. It's important to note... that creating a NEW Video each week... which we have done for over a decade... without fail (In fact some weeks we do two or three)... is not without cost...
      I appreciate your heartfelt comments and your honest opinion... I will be sure to share it with our underwriters... however - it is very difficult to convince some business people that OTT Promotion is NOT Effective...
      So we attempt to balance it as much as we possibly/profitably can...
      It is through the generosity (*and DIRECTION) of these underwriters that we continue to create videos each and every week that people love, enjoy and appreciate... I try my very best to include great information and education... I do apologize if sometimes the promotional content gets in the way...
      8. Final thoughts... 10 years ago the Hydrangea Cut Flower Business was just emerging... and there was much discourse and the ability to buy GOOD Quality Hydrangeas was difficult and challenging... this video was in response to the problematic nature of those times... (* again 10 years ago)...so that is a great deal of what you are seeing in this video..
      Thank you for allowing me to respond... I am happy you find our Education Videos on TH-cam Valuable... I am sorry for the lengthy answer... but I feel the information is important and may be valuable to others that have similar feelings... So I can send them here to refer to it...
      Thanks again for being a dedicated friend and honest about your feelings and opinions... I treasure each and every person that watches the videos and I'm honored that you felt comfortable in sharing your feelings... THANK YOU!
      Have a Flower filled day!! (((BIGHUGS)))

      @LifeinBloom  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Breanne... Thank you so much for this comment... and I'm hoping that you'll entertain me and read through this rather lengthy response... because what you said is very important... and there are some facts that may put this all into perspective!
      I have 10 points to make about the process... and again... I hope that you will read through them... so I can explain... "WHY" you see these types of shows! THANK YOU in advance for listening!
      1. All my videos are sponsored... and that is how we pay for the production of the videos... which is quite costly... it's the generosity of the sponsors that allow us to create video content... and keep it free here on TH-cam!
      2. I created 5 different series of videos... they all reside at uBloom.com and are original content from that website.
      JTV- a tutorial series for the professional Florist-wedding and event planner
      Fun with Flowers and J- A tutorial series for Flower Lovers (ANYONE)
      THE CA Grown Experience- Documentaries about CA Flower Farmers
      The Florida Fresh Tour- Documentaries about FL Flower and Foliage Farmers
      Destination Dallas- Documentaries about Christmas Manufacturers... for the Professional Retailer...
      3. That being said... Sponsors and Viewers have a VERY Different perspective of what they want to see... Sponsors want to make sure that everyone knows they sponsored... you do understand where I am going with this... They want there to be NO MISTAKE that they sponsored the video...
      4. The JTV Series... that we post weekly on TH-cam is 10 years old... YEP- over a decade... so this video was created over 10 years... when people (inlcuding me) were not as savvy about promotion...
      and they were created for the Professional Florist... JTV was a series for the Professional florist but had such great education value (along with some very OVERT Promotion) ... we still felt JTV had incredible education content and was valuable to share... even though it had gratuitous promotion!
      5. Fun with Flowers and J... our MOST RECENT Series (there are a few episodes of FWFJ here on TH-cam) but the majority of those reside on uBloom.com... (where you can subscribe for unlimited viewing of over 800 shows for $3.99 a month)... and it's dedicated to ANYONE that loves flowers... and has much less promotion...
      6. Fun with Flowers and J... on uBloom has less promotion because it's also augmented (Not completed supported by... but helped and assisted) by the Subscriptions... so we can make the transition from Gratuitous Promotion to more covert messages... that allow the sponsors product to be showcased...
      7. We have been producing FWFJ for 18 seasons... about 4.5 years... and these 230+ shows are ALL Available on uBloom.com... so you can check them out there... and if you're Looking for the promotion reduced - videos... .. these are shows you'll love!
      8. All the Great Sponsors are still there... but they also came to realized that video learning evolved and it wasn't as necessary to beat people over the head with promotion to help educate and promote their great products...
      9. This particular show has been viewed nearly 1/4 of a million times... and we've had approximately 2 dozen complaints about the promotion on this particular show... (I log them all... I'm listening) This show is probably one of the strongest pushes we did for a product... but remember we created it years ago... so just as fashion, trends, colors and techniques change... our video production evolved and changed... You'll see a difference... in more recent shows...
      10. YOU Can Fast Forward... when you feel you've had enough of the promo... you can always fast forward... rest assured that every JTV episode has a project... and we complete it front to back... we placed the promotion part at the front... and the project at the back... so you can always use that handy little fast forward bar at the bottom to jump ahead... before you get to frustrated with me!
      Thanks so much for listening and taking the time to send the question and your kind comments... I appreciate it very much... and look forward to even better videos coming your way... I hear you... and appreciate your continued support!
      Have a Flower Filled day... Thank you again for listening!

    We order ours direct, they fly into our local airiport here in kc and we pick them and all our roses up. The roses last longer because there's no middle man time.

    I was told by a local florist that hydrangeas will wilt over very quickly if in a foam, is this true?

    • @LifeinBloom
      @LifeinBloom  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not Necessarily true... If you are using FRESH Hydrangeas- from Esprit Miami or GroFlowers- there will be less issue.. and If you are using OASIS Max Life- you will have better results...
      The problem your Florist highlighted happens when you buy OLD Hydrangeas and place them in other types of foams... as the foam needs to be the correct PH level for Good Success... I have had Hydrangeas- from Esprit and GroFlowers in foam for over a week (again I used Oasis Max Life- Delux foam)... without issue... it's all about getting the Freshest Product and using the correct mechanics and supplies... I do hope this is helpful Teresa!

    The dynamic use of your flower is sometimes so shocking and way too diffrent from our use of flower here in Japan. Not to mention it is interesting. I think you have a great market value here .
