I would love to hear your sewing story. I enjoy hearing how content creators for sewing started their sewing journey, what motivated them to want to sew their own garments and how they progressed and what they started making when starting out, etc. Thanks for sharing and I hope you decide to tell us your sewing story. Happy sewing!😊

I would love to hear your sewing story...it really gives us insight into your journey. I've been sewing since I was 5 and that is 63 years...lots of history. I love string quilting...I make quilts and recently I made a string quilt and we raised money for our church building fund. I absolutely LOVE the 1977 shirt that you pieced....it is fabulous...I love your vlogs.. Thank you.

Brilliant save on the blouse for your friend. Beautiful. I did a string quilt and it was the most fun. I have done other quilts but it is so fun to just grab a strip and away you go. i love mine.

Yes, fill us in on your sewing journey! I've been sewing for ages and am always interested in how others started.
I adore that vintage pattern with the big sleeves, will have to look for it. Reminds me a bit of a free Mood Sewsociety blouse I made except better 🤪
And if you are getting off rid of your old Burda Style mags, send them my way. I just started subscribing about a year ago and I really enjoy them. I've picked up a few vintage ones too, such fun to read.
Your dog is so adorable and will be great at cheering people up. You can just tell from the pictures.

Yes I would like to hear your sewing story. I enjoy your videos and your enthusiasm and am glad to hear that your husband and you are doing well. We live in the Twin Cities and every time I go to SR Harris, I feel overwhelmed and worry that the bolts are going to fall on me so kudos to you that you find such lovely fabrics there--I do go to the store in Maple Grove which is supposed to be the bigger of the stores but still you are a bargain ninja.

I understand the feeling about Burda magazine. I started subscribing in 2004 and stopped at 2020. I have them in binders so they’re very organized. I use them often, so I’m not ready to give them away but I definitely don’t need more.

So, so much wonderful stuff and I could listen to more and more and more! Strip quilts - yes, also wanna dabble in those. 1970's top - looks like designer with the save. Same on things I love trendy or no. Hot: I feel your pain. Yikes it's scorching here! How I wish we could go fabric shopping for a good 2 days at SR Harris. I'd fly up there and meet you! Yes on the sewing journey. I wish you could do classes here on your channel. Those eyes on Sadie just make me LONG for a buddy. Always such a pleasure - xoxoxox

I made simplicity 8438 in 1977! I was a newlywed then, teaching Clothing & Textiles in a Public High School. It was fun to see it again.😃 I remember that I made mine in a beautiful mint crepe de chine with a shiny micro dot. It draped beautifully. Thanks for the memory😘

    • @SharonSews
      @SharonSews  ปีที่แล้ว

I love that story! How cool that you were teaching clothing and textiles. I had already been sewing for some time by the time I got to seventh grade and my first sewing class, so my teachers didn’t pay too much attention to me as they were focused on other students who had never sewn before.
Mint Crepe de Chine, it must’ve been a gorgeous shirt!

You know, I normally never comment on these blogs but you are so energetic, pretty and you sew BEAUTUFUL clothes. You totally motivate me ( and probably a few others) as you comment on things happening in your life and then show the beautiful clothes that you sew. I have a boat load of fabric ( I have my sewjo back now :) so you totally motivate me to sew. You are truly a blessing a keep sewing because your sewing projects look great. Thank you. 🙂.

Yes, please make a video about your sewing journey!! 😃 Good for you for decluttering your sewing space. I need to do more of that and it’s always helpful when other sewists are doing the same. It can be hard to let go of books, me-mades and sewing related stuff but it’s getting easier all the time. And necessary.
Fellow Barbie lover here 🤚🏻 Those sparkly cowboy boots are perfect for a Barbie movie 🍿 I’m planning to go with my husband next month. I have some pink and white striped knit that I’ve had in my stash awhile. Just gonna make a simple shirt dress or tank dress with it I think!

Omg! I just gave away pattern 8384. I had never made it and it’s a size 8. I had it since 1983. I’m clearly not a size 8 anymore. I love the shirt and I want to make it so badly. I’m gonna have to search for a larger pattern size.

I've made 3 Santorini tops and love them all. I like my Amador top but it doesn't fit quite as well as I would like it. My recent fail is the shorts verson of the Icaria pants. I love the long length, but the short length on me is awful.
I would love to hear your sewing story Thank you for sharing your makes.

I quit Burda magazine too. I love their patterns.
As for the fail pattern, a solid would look better. Avoid prints. I thought the shape was good; it’s the print that is bothersome.

  • @mariontilton8494

The Amador top was a complete fail for me. I could have sized down about 3 sizes, but made it to my body measurements according to the pattern. Just looked awful. Didn't think I save it.
