  • I show how to use a soldering iron to fuse plastic together. This can be used to seal bags, make them to the specific size of the object inside and create an airtight seal.

    You can make airtight bags for things like pills, snacks, or things that need to be stored. This can also be used for camping, backpacking, hiking, shipping goods, and many other applications. It is pretty simple to set up and only takes a few seconds to fuse the plastic together. It will probably take a bit of trial and error to get the exact speed right as soldering irons may heat up to different temperatures and plastics may be thicker or thinner. So there are too many different variables to give exact instructions. My soldering has an adjustable heat so I would set the heat on high so I could fuse the plastic together quicker.

    I’m impressed, I have to say. Actually hardly ever do I encounter a videos that’s both educative and entertaining, and let me tell you, you might have hit the nail on the head. Your concept is outstanding; the problem is something that not enough individuals are talking intelligently about. I am very completely happy that I stumbled throughout this in my seek for one thing regarding this.

    I use a soldering gun with a piece of #12 bare house wire for the tip and it works very well because of the smooth wire.

    I don't have a soldering iron but this gave me the idea to try using the end of my hot glue gun with no glue in it. Not 100% smooth but it did a pretty good job sealing the plastic. Thanks for the inspiration.

    you don't need to do anything like this just find a metal or glass surface put your bag on that that and just drag your soldering iron like a pen or a cutter and it will seal that bag 👍👍

    no need to over complicate it by using paper and tapes, you just need an iron ruler and a solder.

    • @jordanparrott
      @jordanparrott 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I was kinda wondering why he didn't just tape the paper to the under side of the ruler with some hanging over...

    So if you were making the bag smaller why not poke a small hole in what's getting cut off to let the air out first.

    • @Bialy_1
      @Bialy_1 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      All mentioned by you metals are not meltable by soldering iron... from all metals you mentioned steel is the crapiest heat conductor so its most likely the best for this task(and it looks to me that he is using some steel element with some anty oxydation protection on it, looks like steel used in old good quality computer case).
