I'm a former spray painter and panel beater and I can confirm that this guy knows his job. Anyone can fill dents with filler but doing it properly is very skillful, something that many repair shops are lacking.
Great video Harry 👍
Wonderful to see a true artist at work.
are you affiliated with him
He did say he was going to use some filler for the small dings
yet he will be using filler lol
@@Lemingtona-x5g yes, but it's the amount used that's relevant. A small amount to fill in his file marks and to even it out as opposed to just filling the panel with filler then flattering it is the difference. It would be next to impossible to not need any filler. Maybe you're just trying to be clever or you just haven't a clue about bodywork?
That large upright bonnet in primer gray in the background, in case anyone in wondering, is from the 1958 works Lotus 15 Le Mans car driven by Allison and Hill. The guys at Prestige are restoring the bodywork for me. They are such artisans.
I have to admit that my eyes were drawn to the Lotus bonnet away from the Ferrari whenever there was a wide view of the shop! What a beautiful piece and much more appealing than that of the Ferrari. I would love to hear and see the story of the Lotus.
Hi. Don’t want to hijack Harry’s excellent site but suffice to say it’s extraordinarily original.
I’ll post a video of it being painted 😍
I don't mind the hijacking of the post. It is only natural that fans of this channel ends up fixing their cars at the same place as Harry, synchronicity it's called.
I also wondered what that other bonnet was from. These guys are so humble about their skills. It’s wonderful to watch a true artisan (a much overused term but justified in this case) at work.
The body line from the bumper to the bonnet is just razor sharp. That's a true professional
Straighter now than when new. Any video with these guys is instantly my fav.
That's old school right there! That kind of bodywork is really becoming a lost art. It's awesome to be receiving that kind of work.. Your car is going to be sharp!
Harry is such a great caretake of classic cars. I respect how he enjoys driving these special cars and his open wallet approach to maintaining them.
How open Harry's wallet is will depend on how his wheat and oil seed rape yield!!
Open wallet approach is a funny way to put it😂
@@fomora12 that is big problem
That car's going to much better than it was when it left the Ferrari factory. Beautiful work by the chaps.
He’s back
In all the yrs I’ve been watching your vids n reading Evo This old timer is my fav guy.
Mind blowing talent he can’t retire
When I was in college a slapper was something completely different 😊
the first thing that crossed my mind 🤣
Sometimes the low spot is the high point.
glad to know he got his skills from college though very few people willing to do thesedays
but still responded well to a few bangs
Love Adrian’s craftsmanship, he’s a joy to watch
A full restauration is 10 x the effort as the original production, always very impressive to watch - thank you Harry for being a great guardian for the Testarossa!
You can tell the attention to detail with these guys is next level 👏
Wonderful chap - don't retire! This country needs skilled blokes like you!
I really admire the craftsmanship of the gentleman , well done .
Adrian needs his own channel. I'd watch a master craftsman at work.
If memory serves he is retired, just does occasional work
craftsman? its just a bodyshop
@@Lemingtona-x5g 🤡
@@Lemingtona-x5g Well, try doing that for yourself and let's see how you get on...
@@dinispaulino7512 not sure where you live. every town and city has a bodyshop
I said it last time, but Adrian needs about 30 good apprentices taking notes next to him, gee amazing work guys. Great update Hazza
I agree with you, but unfortunately the master's who can teach these skills are a diminishing resource.
Also... Good luck finding 30 young people who could do it. I am familiar with the trade and finding a student who could learn the skills necessary for panel beating/ fabrication... Maybe once every few years you'll find one. By the same token, most shops that you would take an old Ferrari or Lancia into would have looked for a front end clip from a parts car and salvaged the parts rather than fabricate new. Because that's all they COULD do with what they have.
Agree he should have his own channel. Have been trying to learn the basics from Wray Schelin's channel in the US for my own projects. It seems TH-cam is one way to pass these skills on these days to those that want to learn. They will literally die out otherwise.
how about going to college and learning properly
@@Lemingtona-x5g 🤡
Always completely baffled by that man's brilliance. A true master of his craft.
Adrian is the Fred Dibnah of bodywork.
💯

@@Lemingtona-x5g 🤡
It's a joy to observe a true master of his trade. I hope he has a young apprentice!
Great job. I'm an old guy in the U. S. and unfortunately, when I go to classic / antique car shows there are very few people under 50. It's getting very hard to get younger folks interested in turning a wrench or working an English Wheel. Whether it's an old Ford or a Ferrari and I live in the South where there used to be a thriving car culture. There needs to be some way to keep the hobby alive. Enjoy your channel very much.
A very good point. There are reasons:
- young people can pick up the skills (you tube helps)
-many people "hoard" cars as investments and do no use them (Harry has many cars but they are looked after and driven). This sadly takes them off the road...
- with cars being locked away and sold at expensive auctions (see the ridiculous margins charged...) other than for real enthusiasts, buying older cars is prohibitive.
- climate change...there are probably less than 10 years of possible regular use ahead..would you take car restoration as a career choice if you know the above?
The sheer cost of owning and repairing classic vehicles is the simple reason why younger people cannot get into classic cars.
@@markgilbertson1564 Yes, the costs are spiralling but also the older generation have access to finance that has sent prices up as well.
Actually, the cost is not too bad to restore and drive a vintage car here in Tennessee (I'm not talking about Pebble Beach auto's). I think the problem is, it's damn hard work
An interesting scenario. Whether as a job or a hobby, restoring old cars to a high standard is costly in terms of time, money and requires lots of time learning new skills. I'm not against any of these factors. They are just the simple facts. Keeping old skills alive is admirable, but the modern world is colliding with this. Panel beating has been largely replaced by buying a new panel. Cars are more easily written off as costs of vehicles spiral upwards when new and spiral downwards when used. Of course, there's the factor of old vehicles becoming very popular again which sends their costs upward. Will there be combustion cars on the road after 10 years from now? I hope so, even if they won't be using petrol. Hydrogen should become the new fuel and cars can produce hydrogen via water electrolysis with an onboard unit. It's already been done, but Big Oil hates it understandably.
Gotta, love these proper old skool blokes, no bollocking about, not like now, massive pleasure listening, and watching the skills, with a bit of banter, dont get much better than this.
Proper car, proper engine, proper bodyshop, proper owner! 10/10
If a few young people out there happen to see this and become inspired to take up these ancient tools and learn how to restore these old cars properly, then these kinds of videos are invaluable. Of course, the only way to learn these skills is from a master and with many of the master practitioners ageing out, or dying off there is a real risk in losing the metal working trades altogether.
Watching a proper craftsman who really knows his trade at work is always impressive! I'm great to see skill put to use.
Great to see old school skills, superb workmanship.
Harry has an affinity to buying cars that need loving care. Good to see the proper repair of such classic sports cars.
I remember when Harry said, at the summary video at the end of 2022, that 23 would be less renovating and more driving. So far we have had a lot more of both! Thanks Harry, great content as always.
Sadly, if you've been following the excellent Harry's Farm channel, there's probably not much renovating happening in the next year-or-so. Difficult year for many farmers.
@@kjh23gk Oh no! Is Harry poor all of a sudden? LOL.
I could listen to Adrian and Sam for hours. Such skill and experience!
Great to see Adrian back on the channel, he's a real craftsman
Total down to earth pros doing what they do best !
If you are watching the video and like it. why don't you give Harry a big 👍. Great video and great British craftsmanship.
Great work as ever from Adrian and Sam.
Interesting to see the highly technical “sawed off leaf spring” tool. 😂😂 Gotta love old-school know how.
A true craftsman at work, fantastic 👏
Such lovely chaps. Brilliant craftsmanship.
How do you pass on what Adrian does? Forget money, forget fame, this is his 10,000 hours, his skill set of a lifetime of doing, this is the Stradivarius of car correction!
He’s a perfectionist and you have to love that. Too many “as quick as you can” people around. It must be nice to have complete trust in the person restoring your Car. It will be better than new after it’s had this visit.
What excellent workmanship. Absolutely spot on. I'm glad people this good, who take true pride in their work, are still employed to work their magic on cars like this. Hats off!
Thank you so much for including the video of Adrian at work, watching him doing the Fulvia was a lot of fun. Harry, if you take the Testarossa in for the engine belt service please take the cameras with you if possible, it's not often you get to see flat-12s anymore.
Fantastic workmanship and eye for detail, better than new now 👍🏻🏴
Lovely to see these specialists.
It's always so enjoyable & fascinating when you visit Prestige Refinishing Harry.
Adrian makes it look so easy.
To see him fettling the F40 bonnet & other parts of the bodywork by hand is a real pleasure to watch an 'old school' master craftsman 👍👍
I thoroughly enjoy these restoration videos, please keep them coming Harry.
The finish these boys work to is just perfection, nice one Harry 👍😉💪
Absolutely class workmanship by these very unassuming craftsmen. Fair play, you don't do things by halves!
As with all truly skilled people, Adrian and Sam make this all look easy. These are the kind of skills that we should be prepared to pay for and it’s great to see Harry doing so. It’s a similar situation with Iain Tyrrell doing the mechanical work on some of Harry’s other cars. Anyone can bolt bits on but to really understand what you’re doing and why, takes effort, knowledge and skill. It’s brilliant to see that these skills still exist in this country. I just hope there is another generation coming through to carry the torch and keep these beautiful machines running in an increasingly electric world.
Harry,
Most of us panic when the car has to go into the garage, you on the other hand are keeping Britain's specialist workshops going on your own!
Beautiful work, wonderful eye for detail from the guys - making it better than factory (should that really happen?), but the boys have standards to maintain even if Maranello didn't back in the day (build the road cars to keep the racers going I guess).
Looking forward to seeing it done.
As a kid I remember the game “Outrun” from the 80s and have always loved the look of the Testarossa, always a poster car of mine. As I drive through Burford twice a day….I look forward to maybe seeing this one day!
In another restoration the welders were asked to weld a Ferrari chassis just like Ferrari did. They all refused to lower their standards! Great looking car though.
I’m glad you decided to do it properly. Yes, it’s more money, but you get what you pay for.
I’m all for making these mid classics better finished than original.
Can't wait to see you drive around in the Testarossa once the restoration is done!
Such beauty is enhanced when all the panels are beaten into perfect shape and aligned with each other. Utterly gorgeous!
Harry, Adrian only comes out of retirement for the challenges you bring him. What a talent he has.
Those guys won't settle for anything less than perfection. Admirable but no doubt expensive!
You’ve found some really good contacts for the restoration work Harry. It’s really interesting to see……..
When you want your car as near to perfection as possible, these kind of people are a god send
I enjoy so very much watching your content. The knowledge and experience shared and applied to high end product is spectacular. Thank you for what and how you do this.
These two are fantastic. Super attention to detail!
Good old fashioned panel beater 😀 lovely to see 😀👍
the metalwork technique is just pure class
Adrian just makes it look and sound so easy. A true master of his craft.
Harry please keep these restoration videos coming!!
It's looking good, what great skills these guys have.
This is so exciting to watch... the attention to detail is next level!
I love good metalworking like this!
Thanks Harry i appreciate your dedication to keeping these cars alive.
The quality of craftsmanship is impressive, nice one lads 👍
Love watching these guys at work. Real artisan skill - super to watch (and I also really wanted a Testarossa as a kid)
Amazing workmanship. Glad to see craftsmanship like this still exists to keep such classics like this on the road. Love the Testarossa.
Excellent!! Classic rebuilds! These guys are gods!
Just like when Leno’s Garage does his vids from his resto shop, these too, are some of my favorites
These guys are brilliant. Love watching them at work 😎
Incredible skill set, great watch as usual.
The Lines are so gorgeous
Harry knows quality when he pays for it.
Before Adrian does knock it on the head I can see Harry bringing another 2 or 3 cars for the boys attention.
Good old Ferrari with the panel gaps 😅 brings character. Great vid
Harry I hope we can get a video of you picking up this beauty and driving it home. Would love to see your thoughts on this car as a revisit.
He'll probably take it home in his trailer and show it back at the garage.
Good god, imagine owning a Testarossa and a Countach. Waking up every morning would be like Christmas!
Yeah, but Harry shares it with all of us! Much respect to the man for that.
Until you realize both cars are in the shop. Anyone with less guts than Harry would cold sweat just thinking about the cost of ownership....
And a F40! ❤
Thanks for the update Harry!
These guys are bloody brilliant !! 👍
Will be great to see the Testarossa back on the road. Look forward to see its next trip back to the Sahara🏜
Harry, hold on to these men they are worth their weight in gold.
Well done Harry for showing the artistry of people in the clasic car world! Their work is amazing. Looking forward to seeing you drive it again too! Still the best car show on the internet!
Looking much better, it will be one of the better ones on UK roads.
Such amazing skills there.
Love seeing the restoration of this and the Countach, but still waiting on the F50 video. It’s such a tease just siting back there being completely ignored. I hope the wait is because it’s going to be something special, like the car
These guys are incredible!!! Just wish I had the budget to take a couple of my cars down to them!!!
Haven’t watched it yet but I know it will be great watching as always!
He truly is an artisan. Wow.
Geeze, I love this stuff. Pure gold
Harry's cars after restoration are the type you want to come across when looking to buy some :-D
What a lovely surprise! Time for second lunch.
Looking good Harry!
Incidentally Harry the front radiators if i remember correctly was fiat croma
Gaps on early hand builts cars are frustrating to a body man like myself we try are best too rectify them but somestimes near impossible, unless we go to the extreme off adding material and taking away .
Great work! @Harry please get this PPF'd before using it in anger!!
Whenever I see a US body shop it always seems to be a huge air conditioned workshop with all the latest state of the art whosits and wotsits with brightly coloured snap on cabinets lining the walls and yet these guys in their small industrial unit with their decades old tool box stuck in the corner are producing work which at the very least rivals the work that their trans Atlantic cousins turn out.
'That's original Ferrari welding, how they did it in those days'.
Their welding isn't much better now LOL!
see what you mean about how high up that flat 12 engine is ,makes you wonder if a v would of been better ,but fantastic craftsmanship from these lads
Harrys cars seem to have a habit of coming our better then they left the factory
