I have done some medium difficulty via ferrata trails in switzerland, though I am very curious about doing this trail once to see Jacob Hamblin arch, but I might also use a rope.
The thing is when bringing your own rope, it forces you to return via the same way to retreive the rope, but you cant do the loop trail then

This climb is no joke. I had a 65L pack (enough for a 3 day stay) and there was no rope there. Fun times lol

Thank you for the video. I am still not clear how do I climb up without a rope being already attached on top. I planning on entering the gulch via crack in the rock and climbing out the way you did.

If you do it that way, then either you'll get lucky if someone leaves their rope (or some other group is there using theirs while you come across them) or you have to go up without a rope.
For me, I went in through this rope area and back out of it.
Honestly, I think I could have done it without the rope too, but if you want to play it safe, someone's going to have to either climb up and tie the rope for the others or someone will have to hike into this area while you go through crack in the rock and meet you halfway.

you had to climb up to attached the rope right? how did you untie the rope after you got down?

Hi Wayne, I left the rope hanging after I climbed down. I then climbed back up with the help of it and untied it then. I know it's risky, but it's actually quite rare to have items stolen in this area, most people are pretty nice.

@@thenatureseekerdudevitaliy97 thanks for the reply and I watched videos of others walking up the cliff face so it made me less anxious of the cliff, I might still bring the rope though, to be extra safe

@@waynec96 yeah I would do it just to play it safe. It helped us out, but in hindsight, I could have done the climb without it. Still, bring it just in case.

I was here today. A guy was trying to get his wife to climb up behind him and she was freaking out. I felt bad for her. Good 'ol Hurricane Wash.

I don't blame her, that climb isn't easy. But it is easier with a rope. The more times you do this climb, the easier it gets too.
As for Hurricane Wash, that's the more beginner friendly route for beginners to take but it's typically used for overnight hikes unless you just want to jog through this region. One way to hike out of it is through the Jacob Hamlin Arch rope climbing area.
Hope you enjoyed your hike here!
