20 ನಿಮಿಷದಲ್ಲಿ ಹೊಸ ರುಚಿ ಅಕ್ಕಿ ತರಿ ಉಪ್ಪಿಟ್ಟು | Akki Tari Uppittu Recipe | Rice Rava Upma

  • Tasty Upma or Uppittu made of Akki Tari or Rice Upma that can be made in just 15-20 minutes.
    Ingredients:
    Rice Rawa/Semolina or Upma Rice Rava - 1 Cup (I used Vijay Brand Akki Tari)
    Oil - 2 Tbsp
    Mustard Seeds - 1 & 1/2 tsp
    Urad Dal/White Lentils - 1 & 1/4 tsp
    Bengal Gram - 1 & 1/2 tsp
    Curry Leaves - 8-10
    Slit Green Chillies - 2
    Crushed Black Pepper - 1/2 to 3/4 tsp
    Onion - 1 Big-sized
    Fresh Green Peas - 1/4 Cup
    Water - 3 Cups
    Salt - 1 & 1/2 tsp
    Fresh grated Coconut - 1/2 to 3/4 Cup
    Lemon Juice - 1 tsp
    Coriander Leaves - 1-2 Tbsp
    Method:
    1. Add 1 Cup of Rice Rava to the Kadai. Roast on medium heat. Roast for about 2-3 minutes. It should just get warm. Avoid browning it. When touched, it should feel warm. Transfer the roasted Rice Rava to a plate to cool.
    2. Pour 2 tablespoons of Oil into a Kadai. When the Oil is hot, add 1 & 1/2 teaspoons of Mustard Seeds. After the Mustard Seeds splutter, include 1 & 1/4 teaspoons of Urad Dal/White Lentils. Stir once, then add 1 & 1/2 teaspoons of Bengal Gram and mix again.
    3. Add 8-10 Curry Leaves and stir. Include 2 slit Green Chillies and stir once. Add 1/2 to 3/4 teaspoon of crushed Black Pepper and mix. Crushed Black Pepper greatly enhances the Upma's flavor. Stir everything together once.
    4. Add one large chopped Onion. Sauté the Onions for 2 minutes, then add 1/4 cup of fresh Green Peas.
    5. While the Onions and Green Peas cook, boil the water. For 1 cup of Rice Rava/Akki Tari, add 3 cups of water. When the water boils, turn off the flame. Gradually pour the hot water into the season and mix.
    6. Stir in 1 & 1/2 tsp of Salt. Now, add the roasted Rava and let it boil. Cover and cook. Occasionally open the lid. Rice Rava takes longer to cook compared to normal Rava/Semolina.
    7. At this stage, add 1/2 to 3/4 Cup of fresh grated Coconut, and 1 tsp of Lemon Juice, and mix well. More grated Coconut will improve the flavor of Rice Rava Upma.
    8. Finally, add 1-2 Tbsp of Coriander Leaves and stir well. This Rice Rava Upma is best enjoyed with a sticky texture.
    Enjoy or serve this Upma/Uppittu while it's hot.

      ಇಲ್ಲ, ಇಡ್ಲಿ ರವೆ ಉಪಯೋಗಿಸಬಾರದು. ಉಪ್ಪಿಟ್ಟು ಅಕ್ಕಿ ತರಿ ಬೇರೇನೇ. ಎಲ್ಲಾ department stores ನಲ್ಲಿ ಸಿಗತ್ತೆ. ಹಾಗೆ local stores ನಲ್ಲೂ ಸಿಗತ್ತೆ. Amazon ನಲ್ಲಿ ತುಂಬಾ brand ಇದೆ.
