- There are multiple ways to speedrun Journey to the Savage Planet, and in this video you'll see the devs react to both a Pre-Old Game Minus run as well as a Post-Old Game Minus run. tbh I love how instead of "huh we should fix this" the devs are instead going "wow, that's really impressive, I never would've thought to do that."

Speedrunners aren't really the ones who study the game though. They just combine strats and exploits uncovered and published within a community and practice them.

Agreed. Whenever I watch this series I always wish I could tell them, whenever they say they’re breaking or cheating, that these players genuinely like the game and know it better than the devs do at times and the percentage is so small. Positive reactions are great
I wonder if there was any tension regarding how IGN gave their game a 6/10.
I'm sure even IGN knows that their reviews are meaningless.
IGN deserves a 2/10 themselves anyway.

I've been addicted to watching these lately
I just want to say that I discovered the slingshot in my own play through and it’s really simple. As long as u don’t press the jump button before u grapple then can press it mid air and u keep your momentum
Well, that beat my best time of 5 hours and 30 minutes, but I was trying to finish 100% of the game. Love to have a sequel for this game.
Honestly your time wasn’t that far off. You’re maybe 1 or 2 time saves away from beating this guys record

The last artifact reminds me of one the secrets in Superhot. Get out of bounds, under the map and activate the object before falling to your death.

The fact that they achnowlage the problems with teleportation in this game is amazing. The fact that ist likely just copying you rather than moving you.

After the boss is beat it feels like a weird cut but that may be because I have never watched this speedrun but after he calls time there is a second segment where it backtracks?
How is his jump pads regenerating instantly as he hits the ground? I've got the upgraded one and it still regens very slowly

Some of these glitches I found through my own play through
a message to the DEVS: at around 17:00 you said you have to get the last one by using STOMP. No you don't. You are supposed to stomp it and then make your way through a tunnel to the outside. But I did it in reverse, not knowing that. So I triple or whatever jumped from the outside, into the caves. made it to the end got the upgrade. and couldn't get out, because i didn't stomp it lol. So... you don't have to.

The timer is off it’s not legit bc if u skip 10 sec on iPhone the timer will only go ur 9 sec fake
What don't devs get about the fact that to get to best this game in 30 minutes, you'd have to have practiced, explored, the game for endless hours lol
So it's not a lesser value for money for a speed runner. They have played these games far more than any normal customer
