Hello there, I have Envy X2 which doesn't start up. Power lid shows light and when I press power button it vibrates shows trying to start up but nothing happens. Looking at some articles, tried hard reset by pressing power button for 30 sec etc with no success. Then tried windows logo + B button combo for BIOS reset - with this windows logo at the bottom of the screen lights up but nothing further. What else can be tried?? Any help would be highly appreciated.

Hiya, I need to replace a crack screen on my HP Envy.. Did you have to make sure the battery was completely run down before taking the screen apart? I know the screen detaches from the main power source but it is used also as a tablet, so how do I make sure not to blow up the screen by taking it apart!?
+Dawn Unicorn the answer is DONT. you will get it the screen dirty or dusty which will stay between the screen and the glass, it will annoy you !! as it did for me,, take it to a computer service shop they will do it nicely as a pros
First of all it was many laptops I worked on were non working anyway. So maybe yes, maybe not, but your laptop is yours and you have to be careful with it.
Where is your location ... I have the whole PC for sell in very good condition ... only PC batteyr is weak .. the screen of tablet and its battery are in excellent condition. Are you interested?

As far as I know it is not upgradable, but Imma give it a try and let you know. I will also try to put ubuntu on it.

That's not good and specially the question is where to buy a power button if it is bad. There are some on eBay.
The question is if the power button is not responding ,can it be repaired?
