  • Hi!
    No music. No talking. Just work.
    If you are taking your Lenovo Edge E531 laptop apart be careful and wear an anti-static wrist band or use other anti-static device. If you need to change a LCD usually you don't have to take screen out of a laptop. You can leave it on a laptop and watch the last part of the video where I am taking LCD apart. If you need to change a keyboard, you don't have to take all bottom screws out.
    KEYBOARD
    This laptop has a tricky keyboard. You need to move a keyboard bezel towards screen, than unscrew screws under it (watch in video).
    All other screws are different and you better remember or mark them somehow to insure that you will put them back in to a right place.
    Some laptops I take apart first time, so don't be serious on my time and performance.
    If something got broken - ooops, it's your fault.
    Believe me, some parts in your laptop are already broken, you just don't see that.
    Have fun and good luck!!

    NB. E530 and E535 trackpads have no screws, they're instead held in with their hinges at the top.

      Nice share, thank you. Lenovo are so weird about their keyboard and touchpad designs.

    Maybe its off but can you remember that the CPU is in socket or it is soldered to the motherboard? Thank you. :) For the video too!

    • @regazzz
      @regazzz  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Depending on the model, but this Lenovo should have non soldered CPU.

    Is it really necessary to take off the keyboard first in order to take off the cooling fan?
    Or is there any simpler way to take off the cooling fan only?
    Thanks

      I think you should be able to remove it right after unscrew all screw that are securing fan an heat sink.

    But please, don't wear those "wireless" anti-static wrist straps as on this video (or was it just unconnected)? They are completely useless, find a proper one connected to the ground through 4MEG resistor.

      Oh don't be sorry, I just made video where I explain why I am using it, more or less and so on.
      Great critic is sometimes better than a good advice. So, I am always happy to hear a critic. Thank you very much!

    hi sir, thanks for share, btw my camera didnt work, which part to repair built in webcam cable or check the connectivity ? thanks

    • @regazzz
      @regazzz  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      webcam is connected to a video cable. I would say it highly unlikely that it disconnected on the motherboard side. You may need to check if it is connected on the screen side. If yes, than something wrong somehow else. Bad driver which I would check first anyway.

    I don't have screws in the top of my keyboard like you do. Mine is a Thinkpad e531 so what's the difference? I can't get my keyboard out!

    • @regazzz
      @regazzz  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      +J Alimayu the bezel that is between keys can be moved and you should have screws there. If your model is exactly e531 it just can't be different.

    • @Me-it7cu
      @Me-it7cu 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ok now I see them but I'm having a hard time unscrewing them since they're not fully visible.

    • @regazzz
      @regazzz  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      +J Alimayu that means you need to push this bezel a bit more. They should be easy to unscrew. Please don't break anything. I can't help if you will.

      How do you push the bezel?

    First, unless it's simply a fashion statement, that ESD strap is doing absolutely nothing because it's not grounded, tied to an ESD mat that the laptop should be on while disassembled, and you should take it off so others who don't understand anything about ESD might get the wrong idea that simply wearing the blue bracelet is all they need to do to ward off the ESD monster that seems to fry the really sensitive ICs.
    Second, as if the incorrect demonstration of the ESD strap wasn't enough, that screw gun is an ESD generator like none other. About the only thing that you could do that's worse would be if you had a damn piece of polyester cloth and a balloon with a hairdryer to remove screws. Stop being so damn lazy. Those screws aren't seized in place. It takes no longer to use a small screwdriver than that stupid ESD generation device that if you're in any sort of dry climate has fried or degraded every component in that poor victim of a laptop.
    I assume it's pretty humid where you are and that you're not working in a shop with carpeted or vinyl tile flooring. You would know how destructive ESD can be if you live in a dry, windy climate and/or have synthetic, non-grounded flooring.
    To anyone watching this, the disassembly and reassembly is okay, not great, but pretty much gets the job done, but the ESD control is a great example of exactly what to never do and exactly what techs do that fries what they are working on then scratch their heads wondering why someone shipped them a defective part.

    Really? in 33 mins. you never take the time to show what screws you are putting in. Short or medium or long? is one supposed to guess? All the holes look alike... just hold the damn screws up to the camera to show them before inserting them. Just sayin'.
