- Harvesting some of the squash I grew and showing what varieties I grew this year! As of publishing this video I've been back in to harvest more squash, including the butternut variety, BUT I still have to give the spaghetti squash a bit more time. Frost is coming soon, so I'll be harvesting them this week! I grew over 200 squash this year!

BEAUTIFUL COLORS ❤
Wow so many there are. Love that there are so many kinds there are, i knew only a few.
Love your crocheted butterfly. Very cute
I love to Crochet
Your squashes are gorgeous! I grew Delicatas this year, but I normally don't grow winter squash because my garden is so small, and I can buy it from local farmers. I'm hoping I can spot some of the varieties you grew at our farmers' market.
Oh my gosh I am so excited for you! I love love me some squash of any kind!! If you can every find honeynut seeds, they are a bit hard to get but it's worth trying. They are really small but you can eat the skin and the flesh is so sweet and just way to yum. A bit of a novelty but you would love them. I have started stocking up from my local farms that put out pumpkins etc very cheap. I have horded butternut and much more for my winter cozy soups and muffins to. I love Fall food. hugs
Gorgeous squashes🧡
Thank you! 🤗
They are so beautiful, you have so much more room now to grow all these veggies, so happy for you and your family💕🌱🌱
Thanks so much 😊
I was a little disappointed in my pumpkins, birdhouse gourds and luffa this year. Very few female flowers and most of them rotted before even blooming. I did pollinate the female flowers that managed to bloom even though there were tons of bees. Glad to see your squash harvest was successful
I made the most delicious roasted delicata squash salad for dinner last night. I didn't grow them, I had to buy them, but they are yummy and I liked how quick they cooked up because they are smaller. They are so cute!
I made a delicious butternut soup. It’s lovely when your meat loving son takes two servings of it 😂 we have a hit and miss I have no spaghetti squash which we love!
Mmmmmm ready for butternut soup
I’ve had spaghetti squash last well over a year!
It can but it gets pretty dry. I actually had year old ones that were growing sprouts inside so the seeds were sprouting! It was a bit wild. And the sprouts were green. I did not take a picture. Wish I had....
@@danamama6766 that’s crazy! I have a pile left from last year but it becomes chicken food at this point, they LOVE spaghetti squash!
Interesting that you said your spaghetti squashes don’t last more than a month. Mine last for around three months, sometimes longer. I prefer them to dry out a little to help the strands be more strandy lol! Maybe it’s climate? I’m in a temperate climate with hot summers. I LOVE growing squashes/pumpkins! Maybe you can show us some of your favorite recipes. One of mine is pumpkin/squash Alfredo (I use dairy in my recipe). I use this same sauce in a lasagna too. So good! Pumpkin chili, bread/muffins, cheesecake, cookies, and in soups/stews are other favorite ways to use them. We LOVE cream of pumpkin soup with grilled cheese sandwiches. Better than tomato soup, I think! My favorite squashes to grow are probably Zucchino Rampicante, Kabocha, Flat White, spaghetti, and Galeux d Eysine. Got some new varieties I’ve yet to pick that I’m excited about!
They all look awesome well done ❤
Such beautiful squash. I love to grow squash. One of my favourites. I also love to grow cabbage, garlic, eggplants, tomatoes and herbs. Onions are fun and so good! So fresh! Great harvest, Amber! I want those lovely seeds❤
Can you link or tell me the seed company that’s in Ontario?
After visiting the area, I really liked it. I like to harvest but my channel only grows crops
Such a great harvest. I just wanted to say that I live in eastern Ontario and grow butternut squash every year. Two years ago I left one of them go just to see how long it would last. I caved and we ate the last one when it was 18 months old from the day harvested. I still have 7 butternut squash in my basement from 2023 and there is nothing wrong with them. We used a small one to make a pumpkin roll two days ago. So anyone growing butternut squash they can last longer then a few months. Make sure you cure them and then store them in a cool dark place. They should last a year at least.
I’ve stored butternuts in two different locations in Ontario…a garage and an above ground cold storage room, but honestly haven’t had them last. I think last year they were harvested in September and lasted to about January, maybe February at the latest in case I misremember. But I definitely haven’t had them last through a winter unfortunately, even cured.
@@FairlyRooted That is too bad. I wonder why mine store so well. Hopefully this year they will do better for you.
Comment ❤
Wow I keep my butternuts for at least a year. I just ate my last one from last year. And my spaghetti last a year too. I am in Washington where it’s humid, so maybe the reason. I store an abundance of squash under my bed😂
That’s impressive, you’re the first person I’ve heard who has kept either of them for that long… they usually seem to go first. My spaghetti squash last maybe 3-4 months max!
@@FairlyRooted I was shocked on the spaghetti squash but I had so many I couldn’t get through them all fast. But they didn’t seem bad so I just kept keeping and using them haha. I just used my last 3 in September from my harvest last year. I’m in western Washington which is wet and damp haha I don’t know if that makes a difference.
I’d love to see how you prepare/store them and how you eat them. You must have a lot of recipes for different squashes?!
I'll do a pantry tour video soon!
I heared in a veggieshop because the sqause was tacky that if you put honey on a crack they last but i dont know if its true but that shop had that
❤❤
