- On July 22, 2001, many of Milton Berle's friends, including Red Buttons, held a 93rd birthday party for him at the Beverly Hills Hotel and The Beverly Hills Historical Society was there to record the event. Show business history in Beverly Hills
A version of "They didn't Get A Dinner" routine, lol. God bless him. Classy gentleman that is sorely missed.
at least they got a dinner tonight
I don't know how I ended up here tonight...but what a wonderful discovery this was! WOW!
I love that you post these videos. I can introduce my kids to Red Buttons’ spectacular comic timing and top-rate material.
This is so good! Thank you, Ira, for sharing all these great Red Buttons clips with us.
Red Buttons will live on. His humor is timeless
this guy is a hell of alot funnier than i thought
No one could make me laugh like Red Buttons. He was corny and cute at times, but man his timing on delivery and never a tasteless racist joke made him One Of A Kind. I miss Red Buttons.
He was so amazing! Loved that guy!
I just found this. I was immediately addicted, lol.
Comic genius. Wrote his own material and timed it perfectly. Guys half his age don't come close.
When the band laughs you’re good.
Red did well from starting in City Island in the Bronx to Bel-Aire. What a great comedian.
Red Buttons is a comic genius.....and NEVER GOT A DINNER! :-)
Are you serious?
@@shangechi11 He may be right. I haven't seen a a Red Buttons roast yet.
absolutely the greatest!!!!
Everyone loved Red. he was so hysterical in ALL of these routines.
One of the best
I love these
Uncle “Miltie” died the following March, 2002 at the age of 93. It’s a wonder he survived his birthday party and didn’t pass away from laughter at the wonderful comedy of Red Buttons. These comic geniuses are gone now but those of who are old enough remember them and look back fondly at recorded performances such as this one. Some of Red’s humor here is naturally contemporary (2001), but funny nonetheless. It’s too bad we couldn’t see Berle’s reactions to the jokes.
Unfortunately, the legendary Milton Berle did not live to be 94 as Red Buttons had said his own father had wished for. This was Uncle Miltie’s final birthday. He died March 27, 2002 of cancer. Red Buttons made it until age 87.
A comic genius! Red Un-Buttons,,,,, your fly is open! And he never got a dinner!
brilliant!
jack Carter live M.
Sadly, eight months later Uncle Milty passed away.
Red had impeccable comedic timing.
Too bad RED never got all of the admiration and comic appreciation he deserved. As he said one time.."So I'm a second banana. At least I'm eating!" He was a Genius nobody ever thought of until he passed. Sad for all of us how THEY ALWAYS SAY NICE THINGS WE'D LIKE TO HEAR.....While we're still alive!
RED BUTTONS....had his own tv show and it was a huge hit....but..he become so crazy and impossible to write for...the show folded and everyone ended up hating the guy....
Sad that a whole generation thinks that a comedy act is made up of dropping F Bombs and talking about bodily functions . These guys like Buttons were funny with class .
Great to see Jan Murray and his beautiful wife Toni sitting next to him. Jan was funny as always.
Seriously, a very good comedian.
He is THE BEST
No one can cheer me up like Red Buttons! RIP
class
OSCAR WINNER AT HIS BEST RIP RB
Red Buttons is underrated. Ask hm.
Red reused some of his jokes , however, each time, they still made me laugh out loud…love him..have rewatched the ‘mixes’ of his many appearances..btw, if anyone is still about watching these, what is/was the story behind that dance he always did with Dean Martin..both of them cupping their ears as they jigged around each other
RED's awesome
Lorena the blade and Hillary the lamp...would have made a hell of a tag team.
...."Pee Wee Herman did not act alone". You would hate to get into a battle of wits and be that unarmed mind facing Red Buttons. He was sharper than a Ginzu knife.
For sure
the BAND is laughing and they have heard it all!
He never got a Kosher dinner.
Red Buttons. Never got a dinner.
Thank goodness comedy has come a long way since then. This is brutally bad.
There's something disturbingly wrong with you...
Not really very funny.
When ure moron u don't understand humor it's not ure fault
