Thank you a TON! I'm an old, retired HD truck tech and hadn't come across this problem before. Those exact bolts were loose with one falling out onto the floorboard. I had loaned my truck to my brother. He found the bolt and put it in my cup holder. After watching your video, I found the problem and fixed it in ~10 minutes. It saved me from sending it to have the steering column rebuilt. Great, short video! Thanks again!
Hello sir, this helps a lot, however i have a 1991 (made in 90) F150 with A/T 5.8 lT. Would this guide apply to my truck? Or is there any difference? Theres significant slop on the handle. The only way i was able to put it in gear was one person shifts the linkage underneath the truck at the transmission. The linkages under the hood checks out okay. I am convinced that theres something mechanically damages in the column. Unfortunately haynes manuel does not cover this nor any YT video has covered a disassembly (except removing whole column unit). Thank you
@Sergio.. did you find what the problem is? Did you check the two Torx bolts Devin showed in the first half of this production? I'm curious cause my Lincoln is showing the same problems, and both my Torx bolts are tight.
