the feeling of starvation is really interesting, because while we don’t have any vampires in our system, we have MANY robots who formed because there was a need to feel like we didn’t NEED food, water, or other human facilities we were denied as a child. funny how that works out sometimes
Non-human alters are fascinating. Initially it feels like a "weird" thing for a mind to do, but the logic makes perfect sense. Like, irl my personal space is being violated however a vampire can't intrude without being invited, or, water terrifies me but mermaids wouldn't be scared of water, etc. I'm always in awe how our brain works so hard to protect us.
Dokładnie tak! Niesamowity jest ludzki mózg, a jak napisałam wyżej - grupa tych non-human alter jest zdecydowanie niedoceniona w psychotraumatologii. Pozdrowienia :).
DID as a whole is so fascinating. The brain trying its brain to 'quarantine' feeling, trauma and needs to their own part, so that they dont become overwhelming. Each alter having its own 'job', parts of the experiences it holds onto, reflecting what 'job' they are meant to serve in how they present, in order to make said feeling or trauma more approachable. All im saying is, the brain is absolutely miraculous and wonderful, although a bit of a mess.
@@8BitZ0mbiewhy don't you use yours? it's easy to find statistic and studies to prove DID exists and is more common than people realize (approximately 3% of the entire world, gingers take up 1-2% of the world population and 1% of the world population has autism)
The "dead but still alive" hit so hard. I always downplayed our experiences. Thank you for validating it and making me feel seen. -Blood (vampire) and Murmara.
@@annie9952 Thank you! I'm not very creative. 😅 Us boys in this system, we're not very creative. Our primary protector is a Grim Reaper. He initially was just introducing himself as Grim Reaper as his name. Now he changed his name to Death. Lol. The girls are much more creative, like Murmara. She is a caretaker for our alters who deal with our survivor's guilt.
I also think that medical trauma surrounding blood could be a cause of an alter presenting as a vampire! Having blood constantly drawn for tests, sever blood loss, etc.
I don’t have DID, but I did just have around 18 pokes these past two months due to extreme autoimmune issues. Thinking of it as “oh, just vampire things” is actually really comforting to me, thank you so much for bringing this up!!
I really relate to this… There’s a mermaid alter in our system who can’t talk. I used to really hate how weird my world was becoming, until I realised that almost all of the system came from my childhood. When I couldn’t breathe, when I couldn’t talk, when I couldn’t come up for air, she was there to keep me safe. She’s a princess that I’ve always loved and envied, and now she’s there for me, still, and I’m so grateful and so sorry and I want to hug her so bad. Thanks for making these videos, they help more than you could ever know ❤
@@Nicknoramus What a condescending thing to say. Especially on a comment about someone describing their mental disorder, under a video about said mental disorder. Which you had to click on to get here. Seriously, why are you here? Did you even watch the video?
we're not even mostly vampires (though we have at least one, probably more) but we were watching this and kept just going "yep that's us...yep that's us...all of these apply to us"
Same with us! That I know of I am the only Vampire that we have and our host is just now coming to terms with this and why due to watching this video. she watched it first and told me to check it out as well. -Kye
So many of us are vampires. We've had an obsession with them since we were little. We just think they are so cool, and the fact that they are faster, stronger, have hyper healing and sometimes are able to shapeshift and even fly sometimes. The immortality also fascinated us. We also are very nocturnal in natures, and don't enjoy being out in the sun that much.
@@fictionalreality3238 We also don't do well in the sun and are nocturnal might have something to do with our primary protector being a vampire I've never thought about that before. He hates the Sun more than I think any of us. -Ashley (Host)
Holy shit, I'm a vampire alter that just came out of a 5 month long dormancy last night, and this video is one of the first on our TH-cam front page. Can't wait to watch
We have a vampire alter that most frequently comes out to deal with feelings of hunger and to help us eat. I've never made the connection to vampire lore as to why this might be. The brain is so cool! Thanks for all your hard work on your videos! Wishing you all the best ♥
You guys are literally saving us, we’re an undiagnosed system and life is so tough, each new video you post is helping us grow and we are slowly growing and improving
Same bro, DissociaDID has encouraged us to step out of the comfort zone in a way that works better for long term. In person with other people is still too much for some of us to accept being vulnerable. So making videos is a happy medium form of exposure therapy.
Not a system, but wishing you and all other undiagnosed systems in a similar situation lots of peace and healing❤️. Sending virtual support and hugs if accepted
the makeup is KILLING it! also loving the new series, it’s very valuable and useful. i’m not sure if we have any vampire alters but i know many others do
I don't have DID, but it's always infuriating to me when people try to gatekeep alters and say what alters can and can't appear to be. The brain should not be underestimated and ALL alters are valid in who they are and every aspect of their existence. Thank you for not shying away from these topics because I just know you are helping so many. ❤
I love the way you said that. The brain cannot be underestimated. Humanity has gone through so much to be able to cope with things. Not to be trifled with
An idea for triggering subject matter. You could have a coloured border around the video for when you are talking about a triggering topic, so if someone skips forward in the video they will immediately know if the subject is still being discussed by the border being around the video? (Much like a lot of TH-cam do for ads I've noticed) Another great informative video! Cheers guys!
They usually have a timestamp, but that's cool too. I think this time it was bc the triggers were vague (only mentions) and a big part of the whole video
We have a ghost alter in our system and I think she comes from us not feeling seen/heard, feeling stuck in our abusers house for a specific amount of time (like how a ghost is stuck where they died), feeling dead and tired, that floating, almost tired, feeling you get from dissociation, and also not feeling like we could tell anyone bc the abuse didn't feel like abuse (like how a ghost is isolated)
This is so interesting. I think I am so drawn to did because it could've happened to me as a child. I experienced a lot of dissociative States where i was, like you said, floating in nowhere, only seeing but not hearing what happened. I saw some things, but nobody saw me. so my brain must've at one point deleted that. I don't know how I felt as a child left out, only when I am triggered and its a nasty overwhelming feeling, too heavy to bear for a four year old. And then I think what if I had understood earlier what happened? Because my brain forced me in amnesia I don't know about age 4 to 7 and I think that saved me. I am still just one person.
I am NOT a system but a psychiatric nurse and ive been watching your videos for years. Thank you for continually coming back and gracing us with knowledge on a topic that is wildly misunderstood and misrepresented. Soren, your system gives me strength every day to keep going.
I gotta say, I really love Sorens nature. Generally I get the feeling that with every fusion you're getting more and more charismatic! Sometimes the facial expressions and the way you spoke reminded me so much of Mara and I loved it (5:54 for example). Very interesting video as always. Keep up the good work and the goooorgeous make-up! 💜
We don’t have any vampire alters as far as I know (but let’s be honest I know next to nothing 😅) so this was super interesting to watch and to think about! The mind is absolutely fascinating and does so much to keep its human safe. -Bella
I think non-human alters are often viewed as strange, like "what do you mean your alter is a cat?" for example, but it makes sense for these to exist too and I love that this topic is being covered, really great!
it’s wild to me how similar bpd and did experiences can be. i dissociate as a defense mechanism all the time, and sometimes it’s uncontrollable. sometimes i feel like my brain is made up of a bunch of little people who represent all my extreme emotions, more akin to something like inside out but if all the emotions were multiplied tenfold and some of them were evil lol. i feel like it helps me to personify my emotions and intrusive thoughts because it helps me separate myself from my trauma responses. the ways in which i was traumatized caused me to feel inhuman as a kid, and i often gravitated towards feeling like a vampire or werewolf since i was obsessed with twilight. thank you for sharing your experiences with us soren, it’s nice to feel seen by someone even if they don’t have the same trauma or disorder as i do.
As a psych nurse I sometimes feel like.... BPD is DID with all of the walls down. Like every nerve is exposed and frayed all of the time and you are constantly fighting against one another, whilst trying to deal with trauma and relationships etc. Obviously not a DIRECT comparison but I do see why you would feel like that!
Someone needs to do research on BPD as a viable dissociative disorder because there is too big of a correlation between it and Dissociative disorders for it to just be marked as a one off coincidence.
We have had MANY vampire alters! We also have disordered eating patterns and struggle with healing food trauma. Thank you for this insightful and helpful vid! We appreciate you! ♥️🧡💛💚💙💗🖤🤎🤍
I don’t have DID, but I am studying psychology and I happened upon your systems video back when Chloe was the host and have been so interested in your story, I am studying psychology right now and i want to be a child psychologist but I am honestly thinking about focusing on DID. So thank you for sharing and educating cause you have helped so many with DID as well as make me a person that doesn’t have DID want to study it more.
This is one I haven’t really heard too much of, thank u so much for providing people with information about this, it means so much, as someone with DID it means a lot that it trying to inform people and help out the DID community, thx for all u guys have done
As a vampire alter myself, I personally think it's so I can bite _(aggressively)_ my enemies and bite _(affectionately)_ my loved ones ❤️ Jokes aside, amazing video and can't wait for the next one! -Crimson
We got pulled some teeth out many years ago, so we have four teeth, two in the bottom and two in the top, on in each side per row, that grow in the natural triangular sharp shape because they have nothing to grind against. The teeth looks vaguely like vampire teeth. Our vampire alters absolutely loved it because it affirmed their vampire identity. We no longer have any vampire alters. I will say, no of the vampire alters would actually drink blood. As far as I know, there wasn't any of the vampires that was introjects. - Sky
We have the "hunted for sport" and "taunted with freedom" trauma, and hearing that mentioned honestly felt so cathartic. We feel seen. Our vampire, we think, has most of our closet/hunted/photosensitivity trauma/issues. We feel so bad for them. We also don't know much about them because they don't often interact. We want to be able to get to know them. It's just....taking time and work to build that trust. Really great work, all of you. Thanks so much for doing what you all do. 💖💖 -Lián
The human brain, and it's ability to survive and adapt will never cease to amaze me. Thank you for continually showing that everyone has the ability to overcome anything, even if it means becoming a we.
We have almost died several times: , the ones I remember really being convinced we were gonna die (and are youtube safe to talk about) were in wave pools at a local Rollercoaster park. Being 4 ft 7 inches to us means do NOT go to the 5 foot section and do NOT go into a mosh pit. (We were at a concert once and a mosh pit formed in front of us. Someone very tall picked us up and simply removed us from the mosh pit to safety. **** this was helpful! Please do not think this person hurt us.)
as someone who is not a system and tall (5ft11 now, probably around 5ft8 or 9 at the time) I can also say that I avoid mosh pits where possible. I went to an a7x gig when I was around 16yo got caught in a mosh pit and this random dude was getting his gf out of the pit when I (being half crushed to death and barely able to breathe) begged him to come back for me - he did too, came back, got me out and I spent the rest of the night at the back. still enjoyed the gig but from safety. now I always get seated tickets because I am not going through that again! (Being tall didn't help me at all - they all crushed so close my feet weren't even on the ground). Hope you have a better time at gigs going forward and just remember that gigs are still enjoyable even from the back!!
The different alter videos and the reasons they might exist are so interesting! Thank you for making these types of videos as it helps us learn more about why we are the way we are! Keep up the good work and thank you for being here 💙
I have two vampire alters. Al Ucard and Dr. Acula... yes their names are both puns. I related to a lot of the reasons stated in this video but also I was born with a skin disorder making me very pale like a Vampire, and suffered from undiagnosed insomnia for most of my life. My body is naturally more awake, more alert at night and I feel tiard durring the day. It doesn't usually matter how much sleep I get or don't get. I use to get nightmares every night of my abuse when I was younger which may have contributed to why I can't sleep at night but that's again another vampire connection.
Ooooh, this explains SO much about why such such alters are formed, and why they can contain some heavy duty things that can result in them being easy to exile until able to handle such parts (lacking permission to "enter" system consciousness, thus kept supressed). This couldn't have come at a better time, been wondering about this subject due to noticing a repeating motif. The fun concept of vampire covens with a leader vampire comes to mind now lmao. Thank you so much for covering non human alters and this disorder in general!
This really hit home. We have one that is a vampire/werewolf hybrid and i thought she was that way just because yet seeing this video made us realize a lot. We feel attacked lol. It also makes sense as she is our primary protector/ gatekeeper abilities. Were enjoying the videos so far! Some of our protectors want to know more about Jade and whats in the inner world and how she runs things so they can learn.
Thank you, Soren(?). This week's video has been something that I have thought about but didnt dare to ask it from my system friends as I didnt want to cross any boundaries. So thank you soo much, Soren(?). Always love all the videos and topics that you release.💕
This video was so informative, Soren! Learning about the reasons behind Vampire Alters and how they can develop was eye-opening. It's important to challenge the stigma surrounding DID, and this video does a great job of that. Thanks for sharing your experiences and for creating such a helpful resource ❤
This really just goes to show the amazing ability we all have in us. A scared child basically wills a protector into being. They created another consciousness from thin air. Its almost magical. It doesn't surprise me that those protectors can sometimes be fantastical and magical themselves.
The breakdown for how and or why certain types of alters form is so fascinating (in the sense of how developing brains process, understand, and form- I’m a brain nerd)- and insightful. Thank you for making this series.
I'm the host of my system, and I'm a vampire. a lot of my system members are vampires actually. this video made me feel so good and seen :) i grew up undiagnosed autistic and so I felt very Other and Different than everyone around me. that led to a kinship to vampires over time. thank you Soren and co :)
We cannot thank you enough for this video! We have a few Vampire alters, especially fictives who are Vampire-like. From one system to another, we send love and hugs! - The Collective / The Family
Diving into non-human alters and what could possibly lead to their existence and roles is very eye opening for me. I am trying to write a small story with a character who learns to work with his animal alter and I always check on your videos to separate sensationalism from reality. Another character I am trying to perfect has an alter that has similar characteristics to a vampire and I remember worrying if I’d be crossing a line, but I always forget how powerful our minds are and how they use whatever they can to protect us, whether it be a fairy to fly away or a monster to carry the pain. As a singlet, I support you and every system, you guys are tough cookies! Stay strong, you are loved now and always.❤
I have a wolf alter, and he doesn't like new people most of the time. He's gotten better with it, especially when someone knows about him, but most of the time he hides, and watches from a distance until he feels like he can interact without judgment or worse. We have dealt with being made to feel unsafe in our safe space(s), and I still suffer CPTSD/PTSD from the events in question, which were made worse after a second trigger event. This is something I've had to live with for at least 15 years now, the majority of which I've felt unsafe in my own home about 80% of the time. The past year is an exception until more recently. It's not fun to deal with, but my wolf alter is very protective. Anyway, I'm glad you're making videos again. Keep up the great work, looking forward to the next one. Take care ^_^
I’m so lucky to catch your video so early! Hope you all had a good week and if not, that good things may come to you ❤excited to watch this one. Take care
Love that you guys express yourselves in a really artistic and unique way in the body, the hair and makeup reminds me of 2000's emo scene style. That's great that you're feeling comfortable again to return the project. Lots of positive vibes for everyone in the system!
Thank you for this! We’ve had a vampire Part in our system for years and while we’ve taken lots of time to understand them and why they formed, it was so validating to hear it spoken aloud. Good to have y’all back, be well and stay safe 💕
It's always wild to me to hear that the whole court incident is still ongoing. Kudos to you for the fight but that man needs to get a life and move on 😭
Due to repeated PTSD and all of the psychiatric meds that reacted wrong with me + other forms of experimental psychological therapy I have HUGE memory gaps. I’ve always felt like I died sometime back then. Recently I’ve been going through some awful health issues and saw/heard some things in the ER that traumatized me. I spent 19 hours dissociating and staring at the wall while hearing people scream in pain. It’s horrible. I’ve been having flashbacks to it all. Definitely doesn’t help with my fun new autoimmune symptoms that have developed as my disease progresses. This video really speaks to me.
I think you have so much strength. Also I love vampires. Or, better word, think they are so cool. If you happen to have a Vampire alter, I would like to see 'em, but in their own time.
Your makeup!! 😍😍😍 I'm so glad to see you posting so frequently, thank you for all your educating work!! It is so so appreciated. Hoping everyone is well 💗
We have a pixie medic who has helped me with a lot of my medical trauma. Unfortunately, he couldn’t stop a panic attack after getting my jaw locked, but he got pissed enough to try and back hand the dentist for saying “you’re jaw isn’t locked, you’re just anxious.”
The way this makes sense for me. To elaborate, I'm an alter that started out as a vampire, and I was primary protector for sometimes. I never really thought about why I'm a vampire...or why I was the only vampire for a long while. Oof. Edit: I say started out cause I integrated with another alter who was a werewolf and now I'm a weird mixture of both, lol. Edit 2: ayo, you're just calling us out at this point lmaoo
I do not have DID but i have shit tone of trauma, and always imagined inside worlds and played deferent characters in them and also on the outside to protect myself(still do), and woah all you said in this video hits so hard.......
@@Shashu_the_little_Voidling Will mention it to my psychologist for sure next appointment, after a quick google i can see it has link to autism, and i just got diagnosed with it after getting a new psychologist 💜
I find this type of video you do so strong. It invites people in who might be looking for scandalous things or maybe even specifically to hate because at first glance they just see a person who identifies as a vampire or a ghost or a demon. And then the videos are so clear and matter of fact on why these alters form and what the reality of DID and childhood trauma actually is. You express the information in a way that is impossible to argue with, with such kindness and expertise. You are really fulfilling your mission.
Hi Soren! Absolutely LOVE the makeup today!! Hope you, the system, and everyone reading this is having a great day! Remember to take your meds, drink some water, and know that you're loved and valid
Wow, you're giving us so many videos! I love it, you're really spoiling us haha! But please don't feel you need to keep this up, it must be so much work putting them out this often! Also with the new editing, it's very fun and I love it, but I will enjoy your videos whatever.
Just adding onto that point ab being othered or feeling different, that is a very common feeling and trope for autistic/ADHD systems(I'm an AuDHD system myself) as well as other nuerodivergencies. As such it's been noticed by the community that those systems tend to have a marginally larger amount of nonhumans. Obviously this doesn't apply to everyone and I don't know if it's been medically/officially acknowledged, but it's just a little add on I wanted to bring up. Also, in a slightly more mature(and possibly triggering topic, so beware) nature, when it comes to vampire alters/vampire introjects, vampires tend to be portrayed as almost provocative or alluring in several different types of media. Even if they aren't overtly so, they still do tend to have attractive or sultry voices and extravagant appearances. Heck, there's even been analysis of vampires and how vampirism could be used as an analogy for sexual acts or SA. So, at least in our experience, it can also make sense that a vampire alter may form with the role of a sexual alter/protector, especially if you've experienced some sort of trauma in that nature. It could also just be the confidence and borderline arrogance they usually display that may attract a system brain into forming a vampire alter into a normal protector since it gives that ability to maybe stand up for oneself or to stand against that abuse. But then again, that's not really something I've looked into or anything, that's mostly just my opinion and what we've seen within our own system, so take it with a grain of salt. Also, so great seeing your vids again Dissociadid!! I first found your channel many years before we discovered our own system a couple years back and then came back to your vids for research. I've been needing to binge your newer vids for a lil while now. Amazing to see how your production quality has grown. :)
The vampire alter being a sexual alter makes a lot of sense!! Also if you don’t mind me asking (it’s ok if you don’t want to answer) in your system is every alter auDHD or does it vary? I know some systems where every alter is autistic but with different levels of support needs and some systems with only some alters that specifically identify with the systems diagnosis of autism. Sorry again! I’m an autistic person with a special interest in DID and autism 😅
@@sari9645 You're completely fine! Psychology was an old special interest of mine and as such I still really like to talk about it, especially if it's to help people understand my own diagnoses. You're pretty spot on though! It tends to vary between systems and what they prefer. In my experience/opinion and with what I've seen, when a system- whether it be DID, OSDD, or some other variant- has ADHD/autism or honestly any other diagnosis that effects their mental health/psychological functioning, the entire system and every alter within falls under that diagnosis and will most likely show symptoms. However, those symptoms and their severity/coping mechanisms can change between alters. Some examples within my own system is one of my old co-hosts. He tended to stim a lot more than other alters and was more sensitive to certain tastes and textures regarding food. Me and one of my other hosts differ in a lot of ways too- I have a lower social battery, get overwhelmed by loud noises a lot easier, and have a harder time masking verbal shutdowns while she's the opposite. As such, one of her main roles is to actually switch in whenever super overstimulated, we literally call her our masking alter lol. Some of our alters are even nonspeaking or can go nonspeaking, though that has some overlap with what's called "mute alters", so it can be hard to tell if that's from autism or the OSDD/DID. For an example with another disorder, I also have OCD. Some of my alters have much fewer or a different type of intrusive thoughts than others, and some are just better at coping with them. Hope that helped!
My personal theory as a singlet who just really loves psychology, is the necessity of an alter who is all powerful and has control over everything. And I could also see a deity/demigod alter being “created” if the host enjoyed any sort of pantheon related mythology
Sari above is definitely correct, although I’m a singlet too It depends on a few things though like persecutor vs protector, it can change the perspective of being controlled vs controlling Trauma can probably make a big difference as well. You may have felt like it was impossible to get through and only all-powerful beings could deal with it. You could have been influenced by interests, literature, anything you’ve been around. I.e. if you’ve always loved supernatural books and shows and movies, there’s probably a higher chance of this type of alter. It’s also possible to feel like you’re all powerful when you’re a specific alter like a gatekeeper, or some alters could be introjects of fictional deities or non-fictional people with extremely high views of themselves It could also be as simple as a protector feeling that they need to be strong for the body, it just shows differently from time to time. What I’m getting at essentially is it’s very personal and there’s so many possibilities. Maybe try to look inwards yknow, what’s your role? What responsibilities do you have? What’s your personality like? What trauma do you remember? Maybe that could give you some insight into your reasons❤
⚡ Thank you! We're unsure as to whether or not we have any vampire alters, but we've experienced a number of these things, which has made me consider the possibility of vampire alters in our system. Another reason came up in our mind related to the idea of being accused of bleeding people dry - and we as a system have experienced that, too. I've said it many times before, and I'll say it again - I greatly appreciate you all and the safety your platform fosters to lay foundations for conversations surrounding mental health - especially DID. Hope you're all doing well. 🖤 Lin ⚡, 🌲The Wychwood Collective🌲
I dont have DID but i do have childhood PTSD and promptly got called out by several parts of this video! You have such a brilliant understanding of the developing brain, thank you for advocating in such a well-spoken and kind way. I feel seen. Much love to all of you guys
I feel all those things now. I believe I'm not normal. I have trauma as a child, but for some reason I didn't get DID, but I can hear voices of all ages and genders, for some reason.
Yesterday I was reading a blog about systems (written by a system of course) because there is a system in a Discord server I'm in. Today this video pops up in my subcription feed, and I don't even remember subscribing to y'all. My phone is definitely paying attention to what I do but I'm glad it's utilizing the (way too much) info it has about what I search to educate me lol
Thank you so much for providing all this knowledge with the world. I want to include a character with DID in a fantasy story. There will be some things that are intentionally not accurate, like different alters have different magic skills and levels of physical strength, but I want to capture the reality of it too. The trauma, the amnesia of some alters that others don't have, the switching and disassociating, the confusion of one alter going to bed, only for that alter to wake up later in a different place surrounded by the remnants of a fridge raid, and anything else I can think of to make it feel real. I have a lot of mental health struggles myself which are usually not portrayed accurately, so when I write characters, I always want ti to be as accurate as possible. This is really helping me to create this character system, thank you so much!
With everything this system has gone through and still continues to go through with Acosta, thank you for making this video to educate us, i cant imagine it was easy. Yall are amazing and i wish you all the best 💜🖤
DID and alters' topics are new to me, and i am so glad being able to learn new things about them through a video from someone who is so familiar with all this. the information you share with us feels very accurate; thank you for sharing it! also i find fascinating that this disorder is soo different from all the others, as i have some dissociative disorder myself, and in my experience it's nothing like DID!
While i dont have DID, (I just watch your videos bc this is where i first really saw anything about did and wanted to keep learning and supporting this system and your mission) when you were talking about vampire/ghost alters formibg from feeling dead but still alive reminded me of how often i just connect with the idea of being a ghost in certain situations, watching things around me, tip-toeing around to be unnoticed, just survey without being perceived, not wanting to really be physically around in that moment but still wanting to observe it. So happy you guys are back and working through your trauma with us!!! We support you guys!!!
i don't have did but I do have bpd and bipolar disorder. the way you explained it made it so relatable to me as I constantly felt like this growing up but I only understood what happened to me MANY years later, and im surprised that I can relate to it many years after understanding what happened too. I wish the world was more gentle to us. thank you for putting it out here, it made me realize something really important even though we dont share the same disorder. ❤️
This whole non-human alter series is making me think abt the significance of ghost alters in my system. I’ve never really thought of why they were there - Jesse
I love your videos. I always watch and rewatch them until I understand what you guys are saying. Thank you for posting! Btw, love the hair, makeup, and outfit! Wish you all the best!
I'm not a system, but I related to many things you discussed. I started experiencing trauma only after my personality was fully integrated. Even though we might not have the same condition/disorder, your videos really help me learn and feel a little less alone. Thank you for your videos and kindness.
Hello there, I'm Astarion. I'm a vampire fictive from a undiagnosed system, a system that doesn't have the luxury to be diagnosed to be frank. But we are aware were a system. This is the first time any of us commented on your videos. We never commented due to us being worried of now we'd be perceived upon. I just want to say I resonated a lot from your information about Vampire alters, Soren. The feeling of not having privacy, the feeling of being drained from life and that hunger...for me it's my thirst for individualism and freedom of course. The feeling of being alive. I will not specify anything much but we do suffer from childhood trauma and neglect, and it frankly made us appear at a blossoming age of late teens and adulthood, so were rather new. We don't have the luxury to be ourselves or rather present as ourselves. I suppose we also can't present as masculine as well. Aside from all of this, our system values yours very much, reminding us were not alone. My memory is rather foggy due to our living situation and stress we experience daily, but our Demon alter felt validated regarding your Demon alter video. Thank you so much for this video, and making systems feel validated, and making us feel comfortable, and making us learn about ourselves more. Sending support to you from afar. ~ Astarion 🥀
I never thought abt vampire alters being a possibility, but these reasons make complete sense! Thank you for the educational content :) you learn smth new every day!
This makes so much sense… our system has quite a few non-human alters for various reasons however until recently upon doing our own research, coordinating and spreading what we’ve found(or attempting to lol) we just assumed it was because of our main coping mechanisms as individuals and as a whole (dissociation, escapism through media and maladaptive daydreaming in particular being common across the board) and just liking mythical creatures in general (which I’m sure does definitely play a role). For example we have 2 vampiric-esque alters (one a full traditional vampire and the other a strange type of some sort of vampire idk they’re just them) and one is what we’ve identified as a persecutor due to the more unhealthy ways in which they act and how they interact and their mindset and such while the other is almost a traditional protector (strong, charismatic, protective, watchful) but seeing how you’ve broken it down and giving some reasons as to WHY they came to be sheds so much light onto them as individuals (in my eyes at least). Thank you for this!
the feeling of starvation is really interesting, because while we don’t have any vampires in our system, we have MANY robots who formed because there was a need to feel like we didn’t NEED food, water, or other human facilities we were denied as a child. funny how that works out sometimes
God that’s heartbreaking. I’m so sorry. Sending all my love to your system
thank you for sharing about your alters. I’m so sorry. Sending love and hugs ❤
I have a “robot” she’s more like a hologram but she kinda takes over when I’m hungry but can’t afford to eat a second time
that's terrible, i'm so sorry... but also fascinating, like wow the human brain is so smart
We started to create a robot that didn’t need to feel anything…Not sure if it fully developed though
Or this is all a ploy for views and you eat it up…. Use your brain
@@8BitZ0mbiewhy don't you use yours? it's easy to find statistic and studies to prove DID exists and is more common than people realize (approximately 3% of the entire world, gingers take up 1-2% of the world population and 1% of the world population has autism)
@@8BitZ0mbie thank you for calling this shit what it is
The "dead but still alive" hit so hard. I always downplayed our experiences. Thank you for validating it and making me feel seen. -Blood (vampire) and Murmara.
The name Murmara is beautiful! I also love Blood’s name lol
Oh absolutely yes!
I don’t have DID, but I did just have around 18 pokes these past two months due to extreme autoimmune issues. Thinking of it as “oh, just vampire things” is actually really comforting to me, thank you so much for bringing this up!!
Yeah, no DID here either, but it's pretty common in my friend-group to refer to/have the contact name for the Red Cross as 'Vampires'.
This breakdown of why such an alter would exist makes so much sense.
Thanks for making these videos, they help more than you could ever know ❤
You should definitely watch murmer’s video if you haven’t yet! She’s dissociaDID’s mermaid alter

I think it was on purpose since Draculaura is a vampire, and the video is about vampire alters.
Sorry but as a hard core Draculaura fan it really doesn't give Draculaura...
I feel like the hair is frankie and the makeup is draculaura
POV: most of ur system is vampires and u just got called out left and right lol
Lmao sorry bro 😅

Take it slowly, that sounds like a lot ❤️
We have a vampire alter that most frequently comes out to deal with feelings of hunger and to help us eat. I've never made the connection to vampire lore as to why this might be. The brain is so cool! Thanks for all your hard work on your videos! Wishing you all the best ♥
You guys are literally saving us, we’re an undiagnosed system and life is so tough, each new video you post is helping us grow and we are slowly growing and improving
Hello fellow undiagnosed system how's it going?
ayy undiagnosed systems squad
Same bro, DissociaDID has encouraged us to step out of the comfort zone in a way that works better for long term. In person with other people is still too much for some of us to accept being vulnerable. So making videos is a happy medium form of exposure therapy.
Hey squad
Not a system, but wishing you and all other undiagnosed systems in a similar situation lots of peace and healing❤️. Sending virtual support and hugs if accepted
Thank you for making non-human alters feel seen and validated. ❤
Of course ❤️ happy to help
Thankee @DissociaDID, my frog Alter realised they were non-human because of your videos
the makeup is KILLING it! also loving the new series, it’s very valuable and useful. i’m not sure if we have any vampire alters but i know many others do
I don't have DID, but it's always infuriating to me when people try to gatekeep alters and say what alters can and can't appear to be.
(Much like a lot of TH-cam do for ads I've noticed)
Another great informative video! Cheers guys!
That's so clever omg!
@@not-a-ghost2206 I'm so sorry for what you had to go through, you didn't deserve that 🫂🫂 you should look into otherkins and copinglink

Very interesting video as always. it’s wild to me how similar bpd and did experiences can be. i dissociate as a defense mechanism all the time, and sometimes it’s uncontrollable. sometimes i feel like my brain is made up of a bunch of little people who represent all my extreme emotions, more akin to something like inside out but if all the emotions were multiplied tenfold and some of them were evil lol. i feel like it helps me to personify my emotions and intrusive thoughts because it helps me separate myself from my trauma responses. the ways in which i was traumatized caused me to feel inhuman as a kid, and i often gravitated towards feeling like a vampire or werewolf since i was obsessed with twilight. thank you for sharing your experiences with us soren, it’s nice to feel seen by someone even if they don’t have the same trauma or disorder as i do.
love cross-disorder solidarity
As a psych nurse I sometimes feel like.... BPD is DID with all of the walls down. Like every nerve is exposed and frayed all of the time and you are constantly fighting against one another, whilst trying to deal with trauma and relationships etc.
Obviously not a DIRECT comparison but I do see why you would feel like that!
its exactl what i do aswell. personify or imagine my respinses and feelings as creatures to deal with them.
Someone needs to do research on BPD as a viable dissociative disorder because there is too big of a correlation between it and Dissociative disorders for it to just be marked as a one off coincidence.
Huge comorbidity.
We have had MANY vampire alters! We also have disordered eating patterns and struggle with healing food trauma. Thank you for this insightful and helpful vid! We appreciate you! ♥️🧡💛💚💙💗🖤🤎🤍

Crimson is such a cool name for a vampire
I agree with the first reply. Your name is really cool!
This comment made me smile and I love that sentiment! May your fangs remain as sharp as your wit.
No because as a vampire alter, I do actually have a strong craving to bite into things, either as a stim or to deal with strong emotions
- Sky
Not a system, but I can imagine vampire alters liking that. It actually sounds like it could look pretty cool.
Don't have DID, but this video sums up why I'm obsessed with vampires. A lot of stuff checks out on the list.
It genuinely makes me happy every time you post now. Seeing that you’re back makes me extremely smiley!!
omg your makeup is giving me draculaura vibes from monster high!!
That's actually incredible
We have the "hunted for sport" and "taunted with freedom" trauma, and hearing that mentioned honestly felt so cathartic. We feel seen. Our vampire, we think, has most of our closet/hunted/photosensitivity trauma/issues. We feel so bad for them. We also don't know much about them because they don't often interact. We want to be able to get to know them. It's just....taking time and work to build that trust.
Really great work, all of you. Thanks so much for doing what you all do. 💖💖

This made me realise something about our vampire alter. Thank you for this video.

This really just goes to show the amazing ability we all have in us. A scared child basically wills a protector into being. They created another consciousness from thin air. Its almost magical. It doesn't surprise me that those protectors can sometimes be fantastical and magical themselves.

Hope that helped!
is i think about Astarion i get why that my be!!
I'm a Deity/Demigod alter. Would love to see why I exist through the lens of DID.
My personal theory as a singlet who just really loves psychology, is the necessity of an alter who is all powerful and has control over everything. And I could also see a deity/demigod alter being “created” if the host enjoyed any sort of pantheon related mythology
Sari above is definitely correct, although I’m a singlet too
It depends on a few things though like persecutor vs protector, it can change the perspective of being controlled vs controlling
Trauma can probably make a big difference as well. You may have felt like it was impossible to get through and only all-powerful beings could deal with it.
You could have been influenced by interests, literature, anything you’ve been around. I.e. if you’ve always loved supernatural books and shows and movies, there’s probably a higher chance of this type of alter.
It’s also possible to feel like you’re all powerful when you’re a specific alter like a gatekeeper, or some alters could be introjects of fictional deities or non-fictional people with extremely high views of themselves
It could also be as simple as a protector feeling that they need to be strong for the body, it just shows differently from time to time.
What I’m getting at essentially is it’s very personal and there’s so many possibilities. Maybe try to look inwards yknow, what’s your role? What responsibilities do you have? What’s your personality like? What trauma do you remember? Maybe that could give you some insight into your reasons❤
I’m looking.. respectfully😳 The makeup is absolutely gorgeous especially the glittery lid!! 🩷🩷

1) Love the new hair SO much, it looks AMAZING
2) So so glad to see you all back and blessing us with so many videos! Wishing your system well.
I dont have DID but i do have childhood PTSD and promptly got called out by several parts of this video! You have such a brilliant understanding of the developing brain, thank you for advocating in such a well-spoken and kind way. I feel seen. Much love to all of you guys
I am just so obsessed with the hair and Soren's vibes. So cool and chill
I feel all those things now. I believe I'm not normal. I have trauma as a child, but for some reason I didn't get DID, but I can hear voices of all ages and genders, for some reason.
I absolutely love your variety of representation for systems!! :D tysm
Ofc! We want to help as many Systems feel seen and heard as possible.
@@DissociaDID the only thing you have is BPD lol
Love the way you explain it, its easy to understand and makes sure everyone feel seen
I’ve never really thought of why they were there

The editing in this video is so good! Props to the editor :)) love the consistent uploads btw, glad yall are able to do videos more 💚
I love your videos.

I never thought abt vampire alters being a possibility, but these reasons make complete sense! Thank you for the educational content :) you learn smth new every day!
Love the patreon...awesome that yall are back and great work!
Thank you for supporting us there!
We have a vampire alter named Monday. She's very into dark red.
Monday is such a cool name!!
