It was funny in that I was going to mention how it's so different from the images of the 80's and 90's.. then you started talking about the "bubble" years lol
Thank you again for sharing a bit of your family's life, and giving a great view into the history (and current) life of the Ryokan!

Yeah in Japan you will always hear crazy bubble era stories from the Ojisans who are now in the 50s-60s. Crazy times that one can only imagine. Really would love to stay in a more historical Ryokan (architecturally), but with kids it's quite hard to keep them entertained without modern day amusements ...

We only ate that one plate unfortunately.... too much time spending on feeding the kids...!!

Going from the onsen tour to the kids arcade was like sitting on a warm beach and suddenly being hit in the face by a snowball...!

Haha sorry about that, it was a surprise for me as well. The Ryokan needs to keep everyone happy right? ;)

Just curious about the helmet while your kid was sleeping, is there a particular reason of wearing? Or it’s a Japanese thing?

It is something for correcting head shapes. Not so common in Japan actually but we decided to do it.

I wanna come to Japan as soon as possible and start living otherwise I feel like many things will disappear with time, during Corona time especially - due to the difficulties it brought.

Really hope the corona thing can soon become something on the history books... it is true with corona many festivals in Japan are forced to stop for consecutive years and it's a risk of losing some of the traditions.

@@GoodOldHousesJapan There is a strong continuity in Japan that helps greatly. I was born in a country as ancient, but without much continuity.
