Hands down Akira Ifukube is one of the best composers in Japan. 35:26 Godzilla vs Mothra ending and 1:09:01 Requiem from G vs. Destroyah is one of the most beautiful and memorable tracks I have ever heard from any movie. He needs to be up there with John Williams in my opinion for greatest composer
1:09:00 I am a 56 year old man, and this piece of music never fails to make me cry. I have always considered Godzilla to be a friend (like Kirk and Spock on Star Trek). When a friend dies, it really hurts. When I first saw this scene (on a fan sub, in 1996), I really broke down over it. I am certain I always will. Gojira/Godzilla 1954-1995.
I had this CD collection growing up in the 90s and sadly lost it. I'm so happy to see it alive and well on TH-cam, and it's given me a hit of nostalgia as I went through listening to it again. I know it's been here for ages, but thank you for uploading it!
My favorite Godzilla scores (and films) of the Heisei era are Godzilla vs King Ghidorah (0:00-3:17 & 25:53-31:08), Godzilla vs Mothra (31:09-42:52), Godzilla vs MechaGodzilla II (42:53-47:17), and Godzilla vs Destoroyah (1:00:56-1:15:37) Akira Ifukube’s Godzilla film scores rival John Williams’ film scores to the Star Wars Skywalker Saga From 1965-1995, Akira Ifukube & John Williams scored films within the same year. Here’s the following list: 1965: Ifukube scored Invasion of the Astro-Monster and Frankenstein Conquers the World while Williams scored None But The Brave (which was produced and directed, and starred Frank Sinatra) and various episodes of Lost In Space 1966: Ifukube scored War of the Gargantuas while Williams scored The Rare Breed 1967: Ifukube scored King Kong Escapes while Williams scored Valley of the Dolls 1968: Ifukube scored Destroy All Monsters while Williams scored Heidi 1972: Ifukube scored Godzilla vs Gigan while Williams scored The Cowboys & The Poseidon Adventure 1975: Ifukube scored Terror of MechaGodzilla while Williams scored Jaws 1991: Ifukube scored Godzilla vs King Ghidorah while Williams scored Hook & JFK 1992: Ifukube scored Godzilla vs Mothra while Williams scored Home Alone 2: Lost in New York & Far and Away 1993: Ifukube scored Godzilla vs MechaGodzilla II while Williams scored Jurassic Park & Schindler’s List 1995: Ifukube scored Godzilla vs Destoroyah while Williams scored Sabrina
When i was younger. I really appreciated the military music as they rolled forward inside their puny machines in a futile attempt to stop the King of the Monsters.
Soundtrack ratings: 1. Godzilla vs. Biollante 2. Return of Godzilla 3. Godzilla vs. Destroyah 4. Godzilla vs. Space Godzilla 5. Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla 6. Godzilla vs. Mothra 7. Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah
Anyone know the music that plays when Godzilla approaches the beach/Birth Island in vs SpaceGodzilla? Was also used at the beginning of Godzilla vs Megagurius
I once saw a Godzilla film with a fantastic Acid Techno soundtrack. Two of the tracks were Lochi- London Acid City & Star Power - Nothing Can Save Us - London! I was amazed they were using tracks from a CD I owned & saved it on TH-cam but now has been deleted. Anyone have any idea of the film title? Must have been released around 1996 when the tunes were issued to maybe 2000?
1:09:00 - 1:15:35 I'm a grown man and every time I watch Godzilla vs Destroyah I shed tears all the damn time. It just sucks watching that scene its like watching your old best friend slowly dieing in your arms. I really just don't know how to fully explain it. It's just really depressing.
Is it me or is the Godzilla Theme at the beginning from Godzilla vs. MechaGodzilla II, not King Ghidorah? I'm pretty sure it is, they just said it was King Ghidorah probably because it had more marque value.
I'm surprised you didn't include Godzilla Junior's Theme, or Rodan's theme. Sure the latter is a bit annoying with Rodan's actual theme, but the build up with Godzilla's theme was insanely great.
NOBODY beats Akira Ifukube. Masaru Sato was a distant second. "All others HANG your head in shame". I'm talking the whole Godzilla franchise not just this disc.

因みに私は1955年生まれの自称ゴジラの同級生です‼️
Honestly the return of godzilla soundtrack is fantastic.
I agree, the Godzilla 1984 Soundtrack is my favorite soundtrack from any Godzilla film
Cody Cuppy I always found it a little unsettling and eerie but that fits the tone of the movie
To me, its akin to the Dark Knight trilogy, now that's saying a lot!
I also love, love, love the theme from Mechagodzilla 3!
I love the music of this sound track GODZILLA ROCKS!!!!!!
May be the best in the Heisei series, If not the entire franchise.
1984 1995 11 years of this memorable series

You are So Right! Those Tracks are so heart warming and make you a little sentimental.
Don't forget Godzilla's Exit 8:10
"Greatest Film Composer" you mean.
Akira Ifukube is better than John Williams.
The 84 soundtrack was so vastly different from the rest of the Heisei era but I loved it. So much emotion and power in every title
1:09:00 - Akira Ifukube's equivalent of Shiro Sagisu's Expansion of Blockade. His magnum opus.

Gojira/Godzilla 1954-1995.
bless whoever made the godzilla scores and the uploader of this
It was Akira Ifukube the legend himself who made the scores in godzilla films

1967: Ifukube scored King Kong Escapes while Williams scored Valley of the Dolls
1968: Ifukube scored Destroy All Monsters while Williams scored Heidi
1972: Ifukube scored Godzilla vs Gigan while Williams scored The Cowboys & The Poseidon Adventure
1975: Ifukube scored Terror of MechaGodzilla while Williams scored Jaws
1991: Ifukube scored Godzilla vs King Ghidorah while Williams scored Hook & JFK
1992: Ifukube scored Godzilla vs Mothra while Williams scored Home Alone 2: Lost in New York & Far and Away
1993: Ifukube scored Godzilla vs MechaGodzilla II while Williams scored Jurassic Park & Schindler’s List
1995: Ifukube scored Godzilla vs Destoroyah while Williams scored Sabrina
So, all the Akira Ifukube ones.

the heisei era might not be my favorite (mostly because of 2 movies...) but i can not deny the soundtrack for all the movies are fantastic.
Vs Spacegodzilla and Godzilla and Mothra: battle for earth are the two movies I assume?
@@thesky8686 For me they are Battle for Earth and Vs. Destoroyah, and Vs. Destoroyah isnt even bad. It is just avarage IMO.
Bro how is vs Destroyah not exciting for you?!? It had tons of action and Godzilla even died
1:09:03 ugh the tears always roll at this point in the movie, every time, no matter how old I get, one of the saddest things ever😭😭😭

Godzilla's Meltdown in our final scene i'm so sad 😫😫😫😫
I remember watching Godzilla versus Desteroyah as a little kid and I’ll still remember that part to this day.

If I’m being honest, bio wars is underrated
I watch Godzilla vs mechagodzilla ll I watched it as a kid my very first godzilla movie brings back so much memories 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😢
As many times as I've seen Godzilla meltdown, the scene, along with Requiem still manages to make me choke up.
