Hello fury forged. I mentioned a game called hardland that has a bunch of weird secrets and there being very little online about it. Well I am putting together my first real video about the things I find. It will by no means be professional but I'm hoping it will spark some intrest. If you happen to see it come out maybe you would take a peek? The first thing I found was a noita Easter egg 🥚 so I'll put it in the beggining just for you
Really hope to find a community around this game that doesn't jump to datamining stuff immediately! Organic discovery and problem solving with a community is a ton of fun but unfortunately that becomes harder and harder to do these days!

The dev has said that at least the biggest secrets are designed in a way to be very datamine-proof. i.e. the code is encrypted and the key to decrypt it only generates organically as you actually go through the motions of doing things in the game... very cool. Hopefully it works.
Weirdly, this game has a huge Yume Nikki vibe, with the exploration and all. Pretty fun! I'm hyped Also! Please please please make a FEZ video! It's one of my favorite games of all time, and I would LOVE to see a complete explanation and review of the Black Monolith by you
Ooh, reminds me of Toki Tori 2+ but actually fleshed out. That was a really great 2 hour metroidvania with no combat but also no unlocks. Every puzzle was solvable at the start, but you didnt know how until you learned later
I absolutely agree... the thing that makes me sad is that I don't know how to balance doing stuff on my own and being part of the community. I feel like if I'm not a speedrunner in not going to run into any deep secrets without everyone being like duh. Or I spoil all the secrets I could enjoy by looking at what others are doing. It's a weird balance but I figure I must just do it solo if I want to truly enjoy it
I know animal well is going to be priority #1 for you for a bit, but if you want more secret hunting type games, you should put Void Stranger on your todo list.
Love this games art style, I just hope puzzles don't require ultra sneaky BS requiring game modification. I just want a challenging puzzle game I don't need to open a wiki and spend hours digging through it to solve stuff like noita.
Some of us LOVE ultra-obtuse puzzles that require insane sleuthing skills, like Noita and La-Mulana, Fez, and Tunic...BUT I think it'll be alright. Animal Well is designed with multiple layers: the first layer is just completing the game, which sounds like what you'd be into. Then the second layer involves deeper puzzles and "100'ing" the game. Those will be more tricky. Then there is a third layer where secrets and puzzles may be unsolved for years, according to the dev.
Hey Fury since you love these games full of secrets and exploration i'd figure i should recommend you checking out Void Stranger if you haven't already, it's a sokoban style puzzle game with this same exploration and secret hunting aspect to it, it also has some insanely creative storytelling and moments, i think you will enjoy it

The eyes themselves, no, since they're encoded messages. If they changed anything with them then it would break the 3 years of work already done to try to solve them. However, the new glyphs might lead to the solution of the eyes or the cauldron, which we now know has been complete the whole time. Personally, I think that the secret is much, much bigger than anyone realizes and that all of these are linked together with some more things we have yet to discover.
Hey FuryForged i got back into modded terraria and imediatly got reminded of how i used to watch your playthroughs alot few years ago i just wanted to ask if you plan on getting back into terraria with all the new updates like the nameless diety in calamity infernum and stuff.
I'm pretty sure I've permanently moved on. I put a lot of time into Terraria years ago and it's nice to play other things, haha. I'm happy and satisfied with what I did with it, but I'm going in a totally different direction now with this channel, towards video essays. No more gameplay will be uploaded here, so even if I do eventually play Terraria again, it'd likely be stream-only or up on the VODs channel. But - that might never happen. It's been nearly 5 years since I've played it and I'm still not interested in checking it out again. People enjoyed my stuff, and I'm happy about that! But it was time to move on, creatively, and not stifle myself with the same ol' same ol'.
We have the same tastes for those games...in fact it's my fave genre. If you haven´t checked it out you should also look into Void stranger, totally got me throught the end of 2023 (Also I guess la mulana1/2 but you must know those...) Also I would love a fez retrospective!
Well, there technically *is* a sort of combat, but it’s focused mostly on avoiding enemies as you are disempowered, so it would technically be like combat from a survival horror game like Amnesia (running away and solving puzzles to survive) or a Mario game, combined with Fez. Secrets and mysteries are the primary focus.
I'm so hyped as well Have you every played hyper light drifter fury? That was a game that has some secrets and a very haunting atmosphere, not a puzzle game though. I'm also hyped for silksong but I don't think it exists anymore (also you just reminded me of FEZ 2 being cancelled/never being made, sad)
I have played HLD, yeah. Hyper Light *Breaker* is another game I'm looking forward to. It'll be much different (I think) than the original, but it is looking pretty interesting. It might be a really good one to play with friends, too...

Now, I guess you can say I'm *cautiously optimistic* - unlike with Animal Well, where I have been fever-pitch hyped for a long time now. "Drooling, Spinning-in-circles, weeee!" Hyped, lol
2:37 Fun fact: Fez was not the first game to incorporate its specific mechanic. A flash game called Sky Island came out in March 21, 2011 having the "change perspective" mechanic, while Fez came out in April 13, 2012.
Which the dev has said was inspired by Fez (it was in development for a few months, while Fez was in development for 5 years.) There have also been games since that have been inspired by Fez and have done the perspective shifting.
Of course I have. I've been making videos of it for the past year! 🤪 This update didn't add anything "new" - it added the content and bugfixes from the past year of beta patches, stretching back to June of 2023. The most recent Noita video I uploaded covered the final beta patch and content, and several of the Noita videos I've made in the previous 11 months have covered all of the rest of the content. Don't worry, there's much more on the way, but I'm working on a lot of different things right now. I also stream at twitch.tv/furyforged if you want to see more of the update on a more regular basis! (Since some of the videos I'm working on are going to take months to come out - including a massive Noita making-of documentary!)

I think its best to think of this like fez, where the basic game has absolutely nothing to do with ARGs and is mostly just a knowledge-progression metroidvania. Then once you beat the game you will have community focused puzzles, not exactly args, closer to the fez red cubes or the noita eyes/cauldron

I absolutely despise ARGs. I won't have any interest in this game if it's heavily ARG.
Well, the dev said it was designed as if the internet didn’t exist, so I’d say there won’t be an ARG as part of the actual game.
