What Happens When You Bury Kitchen Scraps in the Garden! AMAZING RESULTS!

  • Are you looking for a simple way to fertilize your garden that's also good for the environment? This video explains how we take our regular, everyday kitchen scraps and bury them in the ground in our backyard. You'll see the considerable difference between our plants that feed off kitchen scraps vs. those that don't.
Rather than having to wait months for your scraps to compost in a bin of some type, you might want to try putting them straight into the ground. Some gardeners report that this can burn the roots, but we haven't experienced that yet. Our giant sunflowers and tomatoes seems to be very happy with our methods!

Great video. This is the method I use to feed my citrus trees. I always get a good harvest of lemons and limes.

I don’t like worms, but I love gardening. I currently have a veggie patio garden in pots. Been doing it for about 6 years. So far I have NOT seen any worms in the pots. I do dig the center of the pot and bury kitchen scraps. But I do not dig them up to see if they decomposed. I trust that they did.

Tiny microbes break down kitchen scraps and feed the soil. That's great!

Putting scraps in the ground definitely reduces the amount of trash we put out every week. Thank you!

This is wonderful information! Thank you so much. Not only do we have guinea pigs, but I've been wondering about the compost in place method and you gave a wonderful explanation of it.

This has improved the soil nicely. I made a similar video nearly 3 years ago where I buried my garden waste hedge cuttings, quite relaxing with the birds singing :) My allotment went wrong that year though, by July it was rather a mess. I won't be letting that happen this year :)

It's one of the best ways to compost. No need to worry about ratios, watering, etc. Just put it in the ground and forget about it. I hope your allotment does better this year. Thank you for watching.

You can just lay kitchen scraps on the ground and cover them with grass or leaves and then cover everything with a tarp.

Hello, do you cook the egg shells before planting them in the garden?

Hi! I don't. But lately, I've been grinding them in a coffee grinder. This way, they break down much faster.

Watch out for fungi if you plant straight over top
